Took this pic of a wannabe FZ in Pulsar guise
at the Vaahan Yatra(Auto Expo) today. Guess pulsar is finally feeling the heat of the FZ.
@MODS: Please move it to respective thread. i didn't know where to post it, so i am posting it here. The rider doesn't pick the bike, the bike picks the rider

whats the scene now ?
guys,
any updates on the bookings / deiveries statistics and experiences on the FZ 16 now ?? its been well over a couple of months. has the situation stabilised ?
do we have a number on deliveries / bookings. whats the issue with spare parts now ?
in spite of the tremendous hype on this bike, i am not seeing as many on road. seen very few of them.
updates for everyone please. There once was a woman who was quite begat.
She had three babies named Nat, Pat, and Tat.
She said it was fun in the breeding,
But found it was hell in the feeding
When she saw there was no tit for Tat.

thanks mindgrinder for your inputs.
fellow members...is it just me...or are we seeing far less enthusiasm and activity on the FZ 16 here on the forum as compared to what we saw for the RTR ?
the initial hype notwithstanding, is the FZ 16 doing well ?? do we have any hard figures ?There once was a woman who was quite begat.

where / which dealer in mumbai / thane can i get to test-ride an FZ ?
I went to this dealer on LBS Marg Vikhroli, very near the Kanjur Marg signal. he's got like a gazillion FZ bikes there, but gave me some absolute c-r-a-p about it being "Official Yamaha policy" to not offer test rides on the FZ and the R15.
This is ridiculous. Hardcore Yamaha fans have been holding on to their RXs over a decade in the hope that yamaha will come out with a decent product. And when they do, this is the arrogant attitude of the dealers. Very conveniently seem to forget that they have been swatting flies for most of the last decade.
Something needs to be done about this. I had a similar experience with TVS RTR as well. If a dealer is cheap enough that he can't afford to set aside a bike for test rides, he probably should not be allowed a dealership.Last edited by hell_glider; 12-24-2008, 06:26 PM.There once was a woman who was quite begat.

Update
Immediately after I made the above post...
Called up Excellent Yamaha, at Andheri. Spoke to a gentleman, Mr. Haridas Pillai. Very courteous person. Requested to come over anytime for a test ride.
He mentioned that even though people are impressed with the bike, it seems unreasonable to expect customers to part with their money wihout having a basic test ride. So has set aside a bike specifically for demos / test rides.
Now thats the kind of attitude that inspires confidence. There once was a woman who was quite begat.

I stay in goregaon. A guy in my colony got the FZ from the Factory Showroom near In Orbit Mall malad. Surprisingly this place has started giving test rides. If what he says is anything to go by, they're processing orders faster too with this guy booking the vehicle on the 2nd of december and getting it delivered on the 19th.Originally posted by hell_glider View PostImmediately after I made the above post...

if i pass by there again i'll stop and let him know how other dealers are conducting business. There once was a woman who was quite begat.

Dont bother with them. i had a experience similar to yours about a month ago when i went to them for a test ride. They first told me that they dint have enough bikes and so they could not give me a test ride. and when i asked if i could book the bike and the delivery date they gave me everything ranging from one week, one month 17 days to over 2 months. After speaking to the guy in my colony I was quite surprised to hear that they are actually giving test rides.Originally posted by hell_glider View Postkindly do confirm speedaholica.

So what i would suggest is go to them and ask for a test ride. Do not complain to them about other dealers. They'll smirk at you and forget the whole issue. If you seriously want to follow it up see if you can get in touch with some yamaha guy up the heirarchy, online via email.
There's a road, about a kilometer long, behind in orbit where we've touched speeds over 100 on other bikes when the road's are emptier. go there and test the bike as much as you can. Only then will you get to know how well or badly the bike performs.>-----R One Fly----->>

Hey hell glider, I too had been to the dealer at Vikhroli on the 18th, and the guy at reception seemed liked he was being forced to sit at the desk. i was also denied a test ride. The garage or service station of the showroom looked to me some kind of roadside mechanic shopOriginally posted by hell_glider View PostI went to this dealer on LBS Marg Vikhroli, very near the Kanjur Marg signal. he's got like a gazillion FZ bikes there, but gave me some absolute c-r-a-p about it being "Official Yamaha policy" to not offer test rides on the FZ and the R15.
. Then, I called AIMS yamaha at Thane, and a girl over there agreed to a test ride anytime. Straightaway went there, had the test ride. Nice people over there
BTW, where in Mumbai do you stay?Signature nahi hai....angutha chalega?sigpic
