hey guys, i have been silently following the discussions on this thread since long.. I intend to have the hids installed with dedicated hi/lo beam projectors.
for this, yesterday, I have managed to install an 9ah battery on my bike..
now i have a few doubts..
1) which one is better? a dedicated projector for both hi & lo beam or a combiled one with moving shield? I know that technically, the dedicated ones is better but considering the actual parts that are available, which one is better? i mean in the shield model, the hid does not switch, its just the shield that moves. so the hid does not suck extra power for hi beam flashing..
if ayone has done a comparo, please post the pics.
2) since the old windings on my bike supported a 35 watt bulb, do i need to rewind the coils??
I understand that instead of 3 coils for charging and 3 for headlight (in old setup) ,I will have to use all coils for charging.
I also understand that i will have to change the rstock rr to ape rr.
what else modifications is required from the electrical point of view? am i skipping something?
3) what needs to done during flashing the light for a "pass"? in a dedicated setup, will I have to use the hi beam switch for this? what about the hid stablization time?

projector is only good for low beam.
not for high beam, you can have 2 of them as they turn up to be the best setup, but will require good winding in the stator, as far as single projector with a moving shield is concerned, honestly speaking the high beam is just namesake, it doesn't serve the purpose well, you got it right that its only the shield that moves, hence it will not suck ant power when you flash, bulb wont be affected, its that the shield will dance when you flash.
as far as flashing the hid is concerned in daytime when it remains OFF, forget that completely, you will ruin your hid kit if you do that, you'll get used to NOT FLASHING in 21 days, thats a downside of hid, but you can kinda flash with switched on bulb anytime you wish..
pics of these are posted, just lookup in some threads...
2.
you will open the coil to unground it as well as to extract 7 or 8 poles (not 6) to charge the battery with a singlw wire, what will you call it if you don't call it rewinding ??
if you don't wish to rewind, you'll have to stay with 3 poles only for charging, you will have to rewind as first three poles are winded with different wire, and the remaining are winded with different wire, you will need 1 single wire across every pole, so this will need rewinding with un-grounding and ape rr
your stock wiring harness will work without any issues...
just make sure you change the coil output wires to thicker one's if possible....
3.
I've already explained flashing above, hid takes 20 secs to 60 secs to stabilize not more than that, depending upon the charge and load of the battery.Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

A small help needed here guys.
I have a Bixen-proj-HID setup and everything had been running fine.
I removed my headlight dome and gave my FZ for service.I connected it back and im having the foll. issue
When i switch my HL "ON" the HID does not light up BUT when i switch to HIGH BEAM(pass or switch) the HID comes on WITHOUT the solenoid opening!?
I tried another RELAY but in vain!i also checked my solenoid separately and its working fine!
Any ideas?
Thank youSmoke rubber,not tobacco.

Check the connections once again from the HID to Stock switches, I guess u must've interchanged the wiresOriginally posted by RanjithMN View PostA small help needed here guys.

.
Because there isnt anyway they can be interchanged...fits only one way!
tried a 3rd relay today and prob persists!...damaged wiring maybe?

Dismantle the HID and try with a new connection directly from battery and check. If its working ok, ur wiring is wrong.
BTW, why do u want to change the relay?Do it Yourself, what so ever, if Possible

yes ill be trying different wiring kits today.
i tried different relays to check if the problem was due to a faulty relay.
Wonder what the SVC did to damage my wiring kit!
Oh btw, sajjan, ive mounted my shroud too
a little more fixing to be done and then ill post pics!

Tail LED Lights
I've got a tail LED lights setup done on my R15 and the tail light is not lighting up anymore, It got dimmer and dimmer and eventually not throwing any light anymore. But when I hit the brakes it does throw light. I've checked the connections and they are totally fine. The setup is connected to the stock setup which dims and brighten up the stock tail lamp.Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.
