      • I own a 2007 model Discover 135 (Disc), bought it on 4-feb-2008. Initially wanted to buy Pulsar 200 as I just loved its looks & I knew my riding would demand a bigger engine with some effective cooling aid, though settled with D135 because I didn't want to burden my parents with a costly bike.
My bike has been extremely reliable & has taken a lot of beating with ease, my riding style is very harsh, almost track-oriented.
Its been almost 4 years, clocked nearly 20,000 kilometers & honestly speaking I never had any issues with my bike. Apart from servicing I didn't have to shell out an extra buck.
I'm almost 6 feet tall & I don't know why but I feel that the bike is a bit small-ish, I develop a kind of back pain when I ride for long distances (I must tell you that I strangely feel comfortable in a sporty stance, but thats just my way). I feel the bike could have been made to handle a bit better & always felt the absence of a 5th cog.
Though I've managed to do all kinds of hooliganism on the bike, I like the way the power is delivered on this bike, there's a surge of power after say 4,500RPM upto 8,500RPM.
Have managed to knee-down, at 95+kmph in dry, lean the bike on a turn at 90kmph on wet (ofcourse when the bike was new), on stock tyres.
Easily gives most 150cc bikes a run for their money, we can term it a 'pocket rocket' if it pleases us. Good usable torque in low revs.
Even after 4 years haven't had the need to change even a nut, though the bike seems it can take on another 3-4 years, I've had enough of the 13.1Ps power output, I do love my ride but I think its time to graduate to a serious performance machine, so planning to upgrade to a Ninja 250R, though I plan to keep my disco135 because I am very badly attached to it because we've been through many phases of life together & its a magic box with loads of sweet memories. I plan to keep it as long as I possibly & practically can.

Top speed speedo indicated : around 115kmph
        Highest FE : 56kmpl
        Lowest FE : 41kmpl
        Modifications:
        Unicorn toe-in gear shift lever
12V full DC electrical setup (nearly 120W)
        55/60W H/L
        LED tail-lamps

Just my ownership experience, sorry if it was way too long but I still think I can go on & on...
Oh!!! I almost forgot to mention my friends like to call her BEBO

        • My 125 cc discover experience

          Hello, all

Hi, i own bajaj discover 125 CC model 2005... 42500 km run (in these 7 years)...i am quiet happy with my bike... recently i have done a paid service from bajaj workshop...they have changed -- clutch plates, chain set, regular oil change and service in 3200/- Rs..

          I have one query...??
the bajaj mechanic told me there that my bike carburetor is not functioning properly, and it needs a change... and new carburetor is costing about rs. 2500/-

Is it any way to repair the old carburetor...??

right now my bike is giving me approx.. 50 km / in a liter

my daily run is about 20 km only...

I don't want to sell my this bike ... i also want to know what is the average life of a bike...??

          Thanks in advance...

            • nope....bajaj isnt planning on any upgrades on d100 as the d100 already got upgraded by changing the 5 speed to 4 speed gearbox and bajaj isnt concentrating much on the 100cc bikes so higly unlikely d100 will get the ST treatment...

                  • I am going to replace the Engine oil of Disco 100 to Motul 3000 4T 20W40. Can someone tell me how much engine oil it requires? Is it 900 ml or 1 ltr.

Also if the bike is under warranty can you bring a different brand of engine oil and ask the service center to replace it with that one as I contacted a few Bajaj service center in Delhi and they kept mentioning that it will void the warranty and not to use a different brand except for Bajaj engine oil.

I did try explaining that the user manual has an option for other engine oil and the grade should be same but they kept on repeating the same thing over and over. Kindly tell me if this is true or they are just trying to stop people from using a different brand of their choice.

Has any one tried using a different brand of engine oil at any Bajaj service center when the bike is in warranty.

                    • Hello Friends,

I'm considering the Discover 150 for my city commuting. It would be interesting to know if the owners can share details about how is the pick-up of the bike, gearbox and FE.
Also, how easy it is to maintain this bike? Do parts keep failing frequently?
I will not be riding at higher speeds, so vibrations and top speed are not a priority.

                      Please share your experiences/views.

My requirements are also very similar to yours.

I currently use a Wego, but since my daily home-office-home commute is of 50 kms, I am considering buying a Discover 150 to use from Mon - Fri, and the Wego for weekend riding. I plan to keep this bike for a long time, hence hoping that only periodic services are enough to keep it running fine.

It would be great if Discover 150 owners and others can give their feedback about it's longevity, robustness, reliability, spares cost and availability, typical paid service cost etc.

                        Thanks in advance!

                        Cheers,
                        Vikram

                          • Is Bajaj going to stop the production of current D150 and come out with a 4-valve model or upgrade? Because the cost is way too low compared to any 150CC bike.
The cheapest 150 after D150 (Rs. 61,000 Mumbai) is Hero Achiever (ironically, it hasn't achieved a dime in the marketplace) @ Rs. 69,000.

                            • bajaj discover 135 sports

hi to all xbhp members....this is my first post on my first bike bajaj discover 135 .i have searched a lot on Google to collect information about bikes in 125-150cc category and i was new that time so i prefer mileage and power at the same time...1.bajaj discover 135,2.bajaj discover 125,3.pulsar 150cc. after a lot of search i finally make my mind for the bajaj discover 135 because pulsar 150 has same power delivery at that time as compared to discover 135....but discover 135 gives more mileage and i like it looks more than pulsar due to red fairing which was missing in pulsar 150....discover 125 was small as compared to discover 135 ...125 has no disk brakes, nitro x suspension, rpm meter and half chain cover(o ring sealed) and 100/90 rear Tyre ..
i have purchased my bajaj discover 135 sports edition on 12-12-2007 in red color...and i gives me pleasure when ever i pull throttle.it has same power as pulsar 150 and i always beat pulsar 150 in a drag race....bajaj discover gives me an average mileage of 55-57kmpl in mixed riding condition...riding between 40-50kmph speed.....i have faced problem of engine oil level has dropped at every 2000km riding ...and i always redlining bike in every gear except top gear...due to my riding habit it start consuming engine oil when my bike covered 25000km on meter.but i continue ride my bike and till date i have covered 45000km on my bike and it consume 150-200 ml of engine oil after riding at a speed of 80kmph in 400-450km.pick -up is little bit reduced ..but the4 top speed remain the same there is no smoke of any color from the exhaust coming out...vibration start after 60-70kmph after that there is no vibration from bike till the top speed of the bike .i have covered 120km route with no break with pillion at a speed of 80kmph on night 10-12pm when i planned my route for Ludhiana to naina Devi... and i still use my bike every day for my daily commute.it still gives me pleasure of riding and i managed 90-92kmph in 3 gear it has 4 gear.

max speed in each gear in bajaj discover 135
                              1-30kmph
                              2-60kmph
                              3-92kmph
                              4-top gear
still out perform pulsars 150 bike in a drag race till 100kmph......
