Need help to resolve a Short Circuit in my bike

    Hi All,

I own a CBZ Xtreme 2008 model, on which I have traveled around 65000 kms, and still going on rapidly without any problems.
Recently I am facing a issue of Short circuit, what happens is, when my bike's ignition is ON and I turn on the Indicator, Pass light, Brake light, Tail Lamp and then when I press the horn the RPM suddenly goes up(remember the bike is not started yet). Actually I was just checking, how long my battery would last on a single charge when everything is turned ON, and this is what I faced the RPM meter going up on pressing the horn. I suspect a short circuit but I am not aware how to check it.
Need all of your help and suggestion to resolve the issue asap, ( I myself do servicing and minor repair of my bike).
A quick reply will very much be appreciated.

It's need some decent mods to fix them because of current clip-on handle bars. You may need to change the fork tubes and base plate with hunk then you can fix any bar handle

Neither the design nor the engine of xtreme sports worth retaining for long. The updated engine is too noisy at idle. At least Design wise they are getting better now with new glamour, achiever, maestro edge and duet. Engine issues with maestro edge and i smart 110 are reported to be sorted out.

    Yeah, I know.
But I don't think they will retain it for too long.
Hope Hero will come up with fresh products for the 150cc line up.

    Did anyone hear this ?
7 Hero Bikes Discontinued Including Karizma R Owing To Lower Sales, These Bikes Have Been Removed From The Company's Official Website.

Looks like Hunk and Xtreme production has been stopped.
    Finally the inevitable has happened!

    1. Carb Cleaning
    2. Oil filter(both filters) cleaning
    3. Tappet Adjustment

One day I felt problem with my Disc brake and mechanic cleaned the brake system and topped up with DOT3 oil. Do you know if I can continue with mixture of these DOT3 and stock DOT4 oil or I have to flush the system and fill DOT4?

My rear tyre needs replacement I guess. Please suggest which one would be good for my bike (strictly tubeless tyres)
    1. Dont mess with the carb unless something is off, if all is well, ignore and keep riding.
    2. If you're referring to the Centrifugal filter then do clean it once in a while atleast keeping a 25k interval. As for me, I'm ignoring it and waiting to do it along with a clutch change.
    3. Recommended intervals is a little too frequent hence personally I'll only bother about it when there's clatter.

As for disk brakes, once the fluid level goes low dont bother with refilling, change pads and change fluid in one go. Cause unlike engine oil, brake fluid doesnt get consumed per say, the only reason for fluid going down ideally would be due to break pad wear. I personally change it in 10~15k intervals to be on the safer side as I've messed up once with my ZMA.

So i left it that way and gradually things got worse, finally i was able to have a mechanic "feel" the vibration and he took in the vehicle for a checkup. So turns out that the clutch plate is not stable because of the internal ball bearing. And this needs to be changed.

He quoted a coat of 8 - 10k all inclusive and also would just ensure that the bike runs after the fix. Any problem that may arise say a week later would not be covered as a warranty. Any body faced a similar issue in the past ? Help pls...

8-10k is quite a high price.
It will be far less. Go to Authorized SVC with this diagnosis.

(Hero Hunk 2016) this problem happen to me two times and then i took it for HH service center and then they told me that the air suction valve is to long and they cut it. After that they told me it won't happen again. So i thought the problem is over and after 2 weeks when i was traveling to home from office it was rainy day and drive my bike for around 3km suddenly the same issue occurred and after 2-3 min it started and i went home.

The next following day i took it for HH service center and told the issue then they told me that they have to chk each and every wiring carb the valve and let me know so i handover the bike to them. After 2 hours the informed me that the switch in side the bike are not fixed properly (loosen) and the water have gone between them and that's why it happens this was the reply they gave me.

After that they handover the bike to me after fixing the issue. Waiting for a rainy day to see it happens again. Because after i pick my bike from HH service center completing first service it rain heavily but the bike didn't stop. Also after 2 weeks from my first service while i'm coming home it was a rainy day the road was dark and there were no street lights so i drive it around 30 - 35 speed suddenly i didn't notice the road was flooded with water around 2 inch so the water gets splashed. So this might be the reason the water gets in from the valve ? I want to know why it happens ? is this a small issue or serious issue ?

    Waiting for your reply.....

    Purchased Date : 05/02/2017
First Service Done in : 624 km
Up to now : 1432 km driven
This is old problem, even on Xtremes.
As rightly pointed out, its the breather pipe getting blocked.
Make sure it is clean always and away from water splashes.

For the front, the stock tyre itself is good. If you choose dedicated off road tyre for front, the handling will be reduced to great extent.
For the handle bar, you can install Hunk handle bar, but you need to change from the base plate.

For tyre, if you need good grip with slight compromise on life, go with MRF Vyde, else Zapper Q would be fine.

It is a reliable bike. The seating position and ride quality is good too.
Check the following things before you go for the long ride.
    - Tire pressure
    - Prefer an engine oil change if not done already
    - Chain lubing and adjusting slack (Check the slack yourself as the mechanics often tightens the chain more)
    - Ensure that all the bulbs are working
    - Carry a spare headlight bulb, if you are riding in the night
    - If you are not sure when the cables were replaced last time, it is better to replace them too

Others - please add anything that I might have missed out
Inspect the condition of tyre and brake pads.
