I have done couple of 200kms round trips on my 2008 Hunk when I was in Chennai. Also, did many 200kms trips in my native Kerala.
It is a reliable bike. The seating position and ride quality is good too.
Check the following things before you go for the long ride.
- Tire pressure
- Prefer an engine oil change if not done already
- Chain lubing and adjusting slack (Check the slack yourself as the mechanics often tightens the chain more)
- Ensure that all the bulbs are working
- Carry a spare headlight bulb, if you are riding in the night
- If you are not sure when the cables were replaced last time, it is better to replace them too

I am a second owner of Hero Honda Hunk. It's 2012 model. I use it for daily commuting to office. Apart from a Duke like sound at higher speeds, I don't have any complaints with this awesome bike.
Maximum speed I've gone up to is 107 km/hr.

What's the maximum speed you guys have taken your bike up to? Also, I need to travel from Chennai to Bangalore. Do you guys think that this bike (2012 model) will be able to pull off a 370km tour?

I think the quote is quite steep for this.
I suggest checking with a Hero ASC.

Need a help...

I have small problem in my new bike which it gets stops in heavy rain. (Hero Hunk 2016) this problem happen to me two times and then i took it for HH service center and then they told me that the air suction valve is to long and they cut it. After that they told me it won't happen again. So i thought the problem is over and after 2 weeks when i was traveling to home from office it was rainy day and drive my bike for around 3km suddenly the same issue occurred and after 2-3 min it started and i went home.

The next following day i took it for HH service center and told the issue then they told me that they have to chk each and every wiring carb the valve and let me know so i handover the bike to them. After 2 hours the informed me that the switch in side the bike are not fixed properly (loosen) and the water have gone between them and that's why it happens this was the reply they gave me.

After that they handover the bike to me after fixing the issue. Waiting for a rainy day to see it happens again. Because after i pick my bike from HH service center completing first service it rain heavily but the bike didn't stop. Also after 2 weeks from my first service while i'm coming home it was a rainy day the road was dark and there were no street lights so i drive it around 30 - 35 speed suddenly i didn't notice the road was flooded with water around 2 inch so the water gets splashed. So this might be the reason the water gets in from the valve ? I want to know why it happens ? is this a small issue or serious issue ?

He said the ball bearing that connects the clutch plates to the engine will be replaced along with the piston. That's it... Don't think the bore and crank set needs to be replaced. Did not know about warranty that hero provides for engine work. Would look out for that option as well.

What all are covered in the quote of 10k that your mechanic mentioned?
Is it for the engine overhaul with new bore and piston and crank reset? Does it include new clutch plates as well?
Alternately, you can go to Hero SVC and get the quote for the things your mechanic suggested. AFAIK, Hero service centers will provide around 6 months warranty for engine works.

Movement in clutch plate assembly

I own a 5 year old hunk that's on the verge of completing 40k Kms. All's been going fine untile recently I've noticed a disturbance in the engine. Showed it to multiple technicians including multiple service center guys but they could feel the vibration.

So i left it that way and gradually things got worse, finally i was able to have a mechanic "feel" the vibration and he took in the vehicle for a checkup. So turns out that the clutch plate is not stable because of the internal ball bearing. And this needs to be changed.

He quoted a coat of 8 - 10k all inclusive and also would just ensure that the bike runs after the fix. Any problem that may arise say a week later would not be covered as a warranty. Any body faced a similar issue in the past ? Help pls...

You sold your old Hunk, bought a new one and removed stickers to look like the old one!
To be honest, I too found the new Hunk's sticker job gaudy. The old one was better.

Yes.. But i made it to look like old Hunk. Removed all the new stickers and gave the RACING BULL INSIGNIA treatment😇
Also the camshaft changed to old KSP make.

Yes, it is 28 mm.
I think you can use slide of Unicorn if OE Hero ones are not available.

Can anyone share the contact details of a good paint shop in Mumbai? Need to get everything including the frame to be painted. How much does it cost nowadays?
