Guys I just browsed through the Motul site and when I visited the site concerned with India, middle east and europe (they have a common site). I saw 5W30 in the 300v Factory Line range. Is this available here????
here is the link:
MOTUL - Homepage
@Raccoon: Any particular review about the Catsrol Bike Zone at Hinjewadi. Some at my office gave very bad review about them and say the one in Shivaji nagar is good. They say they dont have spares for most of the premium bikes and also half the time make excuses for not giving the complete service. Any pointer to good service station near Baner???Imperfect human knowledge may be a bumpy, pot-holed street but its the only road to wisdom worth taking . . .

Initially only 15W50 was available, then the 5W40 came in ; maybe as the days go by, even 5W30 would be available.
But as of now, it is not available.

....I'll call up the Motul guy and ask him if there are any chances of getting it out here...

Nopes, sorry dude... no personal experience with any CBZ yet. But from comments here, it seems some are good and some not.Originally posted by hegdeanoop View Post@Raccoon: Any particular review about the Catsrol Bike Zone at Hinjewadi. Maybe it does. The oil may be great in itself. But its a thinner oil than specified and thats *may* not be a good thing. Also there is the issue of how it actually behaves... like Sarbanoxley says bike does not reach top speed until the oil is really hot. Why?? If it can on thicker dyno oil, then why not on this Motul? I guess thats something none of us can answer...It is a Motul. A 300V Factory Line product. And, a 5W40. It would outperform at least 95 oils out of any given 100 even in its Winter performance.Last edited by Raccoon; 05-16-2009, 01:30 AM.

Nahh... hardly go that side dude. U need one for CBZ-x? There is one Castrol Bike Zone in Kothrud too... maybe you could try that out? Also there are some similar places here like Bike Gurus, etc. Any idea about those? If not you could just try them out... if they do their stuff in front of you.

In which way is it thinner?Originally posted by Raccoon View PostBut its a thinner oil than specified and thats *may* not be a good thing.
If u are talking about the 10w30 5w40 difference, well let me explain what i know.
These are multi grade oils whose grades change w.r.t temperature. The lower the grade (the "x" in xWy) , the quicker it spreads inside the engine during cold starts. That is the reason they use 0Wy oils in the arctic and antarctic regions.
As soon as the engine is up and running and reaches it's operating temperature, the oil changes it s grade (crude explanation for a multi grade oil) as the temperature is up. So at the normal engine operating temperatures, u actually get a more thicker oil (40) in place of a (30) . Which means better protection.
Bottomline - no harm in using a 5W40 in place of a 10W30.
Damn! i should be doing this in the Engine oils thread
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Hi All.. I purchased my first bike as CBZ xtreme with ATFT a week ago. I can say "Mmmm.. I am loving it" for this bike. Though this one is my first bike yet I have driven many different bikes of friends etc.. I did an intensive research for three months before settling to CBZ in the End and till date I am happy with my decision. I am not writing any review of my bike as it is just 1 week old( will write after a month). To help out other people looking for bike I am uploading some of pics of my bike. Enjoy...

Vyom, thats a real neat looking CBZ-X!
Seems you have polished it real well and all...
onlyyourspiyu, bike buying is a pretty personal decision with all decent bikes having their followers. About CBZ-X all I can say is its a fairly good bike (by Indian standards) but the service has gone to the pigs.
Check out how things are in your area.
