What is this filter shown in the pic then? Is it the conventional oil filter?

I thought it would be cylindrical like in the apache's..

Raccon sir that pic was taken after he cleaned some of the dirt off the filter .Yep i made sure he cleaned it thoroughly with petrol .Yes sir the shiny ones are metal remember i retreaded the mech told me it was from that process.The second picture was before he cleaned with petrol doesnt it look like its new but the oil was completely spoiled.It was so dark it was like black TAR.I topped up the oil by another 100ml(only 10ml left) the dipstick is showing the oil level at near max mark,the thing i do not understand is how come my bike takes in 1000ml of oil yet it doesnt reach the max mark on the dipstick

What are these centrifuge filters .Where are they located?.Should i change/clean it too.

And dude, I remember telling you in earlier posts that you need to get BOTH filters cleaned! You should definitely get the centrifugal filter cleaned too. Looking at your mesh filter, gawd knows what awesome artifacts you'll find in the other filter!

I seriously don't think you should let the oil get that bad in the engine!

If those are metal pcs then u need to be worried!

CBZ Xtreme

Its the best bike in its class. No issues at all. Have already done 16k kms and its getting better as its getting older . Mileage still 50+ and even better on highways..... Have toured a lot on this bike for distances 200-250 kms and beleive me, there is no strain on back at all.

The filter was just like new after he had cleaned it completely.The 1st picture was taken while he was peeling those stuff off.And i asked about
the centrifugal filter in this big SC in chennai.They said xtreme does not have one.Their was a mech who also said their is no centrifugal filter on CBZ may be they have some street name for it.Seriously where is this filter located sir i tell them centrifuge filter they all say their are only 2 filters air filter and oil filter.

@SATISH I had done some retreading as the tread had gone on the top of the engine block.The thing u see in the pic was like foil not that hard but very sharp.The mech said i need not worry as the filter has blocked the metal foils.So should i drain the MOTUL to make sure no metal parts are inside or what u suggest.


I just completed 238kms on motul.Castrol power 1 racing is no match for motul 300v.The engine surely does not heat as much as it used to with CP1R.The engine feels like its very stress free even @ 3 digit speeds.Whatever little vibes that had like the foot rest etc are completely gone.I have to look @ the speedo to even realize that i am doing 100KM/HR its so stress free.I feel that this oil is somehow thicker than the CP1R.But the acceleration is terrific.Goodbye castrol will miss you

That's the oil screen that most people refer to as filter. There is no centrifugal oil filter in the Honda Engines currently sold in India. All they have are screens.
That's your clutch case - see the clutch plates inside the clutch bell...

Yes, the Motul's are generally thicker and also have much better heat management. You were told this earlier - if you are spending Rs 750 on Castrol Power 1 Racing then you'd better spend Rs 700 on Motul 300V FL.

What ever metal that has to come out from your re-threading job would have come off... don't drain the oil now.

^^ hydbiker sir i remember.Oh thats the clutch plates.Would not change the oil.so the SC guys and the mech were right no centrifuge filter .Sir,the motul synth here costs Rs630 only.

Guys i found a place where all parts are available be it CBZ/ZMA in chennai even other SC come here for hard to find parts . if u guys need anything just pm me i will guide u.I finally was able to get the parts i was looking for .Cost me Rs202.

Gawd no! Tell those mechs to take VRS or find some simpler jobs or mebbe just use synthetic oil in their skulls or something!!

The centrifugal filter can be cleaned by opening the 3 screws on the circular disc like thing next to the clutch bell. You will likely see stuff clinging to the inner sides of that circular thing. It has to be cleaned with petrol. You *MUST* get it cleaned... esp. after considering the goo on your oil screen. You will likely find more metal there! Do take pics if possible.

As for the metal foil, you should never have let it get inside the engine!! It can destroy your engine faster than you can imagine. But now since its done, its likely that most of it has been picked up by the filters... but you can never say... and changing your will be a expensive proposition.

Whats the viscocity of the Motul you are using?

This place you mentioned... does it stock spares of other bikes too... like TVS?

racoon sir the motul is 300V FL 5W 40 but it feels like its 20 W 40.
Yesterday i traveled to chennai with a friend it was near impossible to keep the bike below 70KM/HR i kept the bike @90km/hr but it goes to 100km/hr just like that without me doing anything.Terrific heat management it kicks castrol P1R left and right.I wonder if the castrol guys even know what they are up against.If they dont change their pricing policy motul is gonna Decimate castrol in the premium segment.

After draining the old CP1R,cleaning the mesh,the mech told me to lean the bike .as i did so more oil came out of the hole inside the 3 screw that u mentioned as the centrifuge filter.So wont the metal parts have drained out.

As Hydbiker explained, the Hondas in india dont have a centrifugal oil filter AFAIK.

XCD 125,135,Calibers,Apaches and R15 ' s have it.
