Man.. I know they provide little improvement in performance. And i am ok with that. I mean, all i want is that sound, and no harm to the engine. Isn't that possible to achieve..?

If you change to K & N you have to upjet your carb, otherwise your engine will overheated due to more air and less fuel.So if you upjet, your mileage will decrease for sure, say 2 to 5kms.So both will affect your bike ,so if you need that sound, just remove the rubber suction part from the air box you will get a sound similar to K & N.I mean the part # 5.

      • Ok, overheating is due to a lean mixture, so can't the AFR be restored by tuning up the carb accordingly..?

About the method you suggested, is it all safe..? And is that a DIY job..?

It is an easy DIY...and safer than going for K&N, in many ways.

Just hold the air box with one hand and pull the rubber tip with another hand.It will glued to the airbox,so it will need little effort to pull out.

Its just glued to keep it in place,U don't need to glue it,just put it back in the right place.i had fixed my carb pipe in such a manner after removing the K&N from my bike and had done it myself.
