I have a question whether replacement of master cylinder is required or caliper needs to be change to increase biting power because I have already changed the master cylinder of my hunk with new stock (some time earlier a mech. suggested me to change to master cylinder with new one) and I don't feel any change in brakes, whether another bike's master cylinder will do or caliper will do

Bro, i forget to ask you....you said you have fitted 110/90 on rear. my doubt is
the stock size is 100/90; that means height of tyre = 90mm
you have fitted 110/90; that means height of tyre = 99mm

now with the increase of 9mm, dont you feel and difference in gearing? i mean you would have felt bit longer gearing with the increase in height.

How it increased 9mm. The value 90 is same in both tyre only width increased

aspect ratio is nothing but the height % of tyre width. 110/90 means; height is 90% width. hence the derivation

            3. Engine oil: My xtreme was running on Hero 4T Plus 10w30 engine oil since last 1500 Kms. Performance of this oil was quite good for the initial 1000 Kms, but after that I felt a dip in performance, may be because of the heat of Delhi. So, reverted back to my favorite Gulf Pride 4T Synth 10w30. But I must admit that my bike's engine was revving nicely on Hero oil.

How long will Gulf 4T Synth last? I am tired of changing oil every 1.5K KM while using oil from hero I am also planning to change both front and rear tyres, I will be going for zapper q 110 section for rear, can someone suggest good front tyres? Thanks in advance

Generally, I drain Gulf 4T Synth after 2500 kms to be on the safer side. However, it can run till 3000 kms easily.

A friend I know swapped his Master Cylinder on the ZMA with the ones on the Pulsar and the Steel Hose. He is extremely happy with the results.

And of course, I will let all you guys know.

                Also, a small update.

I finally ended up with 47kmpl after the carb tune and tappet adjustment. This was I think 166.3km for 300/84.95 liters of fuel. In the 166.3km, I travelled around 90km with the old carb tune and tight tappet adjustment during which time I used to get 43kmpl.

Calculating for the same, for the 90kmpl, I must've used around 2.09L of fuel of the 3.53L I had filled(300/84.95). So for the remaining 3.53-2.09=1.44L of fuel, I travelled around 76.3km. That will equal around 76.3/1.44 = 53kmpl with the new carb tune and tappet adjustment.

Keep in mind that I would've wasted a little fuel while trying to tune the carb and wasted at least 100ml of fuel when I was removing the tank and forgot to turn the petrol tap to OFF. I also tried to teach a friend to ride during this time. So plenty of engine stalling and riding in 1st gear during the time. Also, the tappets are a little loose as they make a ringing noise when the engine gets hot. All in all, I am very happy. Hope the FE is as I have calculated!

Also, does anyone have a picture of the main jet? It would really help me in getting the 130 size Main Jet.

EDIT: Found this somewhere earlier in the thread.

This seems to correspond with the jets here:

KEIHIN AIR JET 99101-124 AND 99101-ZF5

Sadly, the shipping costs more than the jet itself. :/

Not Karizma, Hero Honda Hunk. Check your tappets and retune. I'm sure it will increase. I'm getting 47kmpl after using the 165cc bore, head work and the 15T Unicorn sprocket.

minor difference will come. now if your gearing is longer, you might be able to shift gear say 2-3kmph later for 5th gear, which i would love to do since hunk is much short geared.
If you change your front wheel height, then speedo error will occur.

BTW, if you would have opted for 110/80 then cornering might get improved. but with 110/90 i dont think much improvement in cornering. this is theoretical explanation, practically you have explain us about how did you feel... This is one of the reason why tyres with larger width doesn't comes with higher profile (very few are available, but for totally different category bike).

the same goes when you much under inflate your tyre, the speedo will show higher value than actual but very marginal. for this condition we might experience like, riding feel wise=45kmph, but speedo reading=50kmph

If you found any other theory/experience, plz share with us.

The one from Race Concepts. It costs me 5500 for the bore along with all the necessary parts like the piston, piston ring, etc.
