re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Also, while adjusting the tappet clearance, while trying to get this alignment, the 2 guidelines would never become parallel to the cylinder head. They would also be a little slant. I am not sure if this is a problem? Same thing here.Originally posted by ashwin.terminator View Post

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I don't think the 2 guidelines thing not being parallel is a huge issue.Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostI have the same sound in my Unicorn(started like this and now it is more) and I thought the clearances were wrong and adjusted like 5~8 times. But nothing helped. The mechanic said it is an issue with connecting Rod and crankshaft. Also these sounds get louder with heat, If valve clearance is high the sound should go away with heat right?
I'm not very sure about the exact functioning of these parts. But I assume expansion due to heat is the reason why the clearance increases further thus creating a bigger racket.
As to why it increases due to heat, I guess someone more experienced can answer.
As for your bike's sound, I guess you can try replacing the Rocker Arms as well. Try this:

Ya thats the rocker sound. Along with it the timing chain tensioner is also gone. You can hear the sound on idling like grinding machine. Thats the timing chain tensioner sound. And the ringing noise is the rocker arm bearing sound.Originally posted by ashwin.terminator View PostTo tell you fro the keihin japan tuning guide, then it has been mentioned that if the mixture screw is going beyond 2 turns that means a smaller slow jet is required and if it is going less than 1 turn that means a bigger slow jets are required. Tuning depends on what is setting of slow jet. A bike which has bigger slow jet will require less number of turns and a bike that has smaller slow jet will have more number of turns to be opened. Extreme pilot jet circuit permits the tuning to be set in between 1.75-1.9 turns. Similarily in some bikes the pilot jets will be lean and thus requires as many as 3-3.5 turns. So do not be too worried about it. Instead try to get optimum tuning and see the bikes performance.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostHai all.. Is that true the best tuning of cv carb is between 3-3.5 turns? Since guys here are telling like that today again i tuned carb and got setting of 1.85 turns(this was the previous setting) when reaches about 3 turns rpm decreases and constantly varying. Then how a cv carb can work at 3.5 turns? If it is the correct method, then why company did't tune like that? Why they are setting at 1.7 turns?Tapatalked from my Canvas A76Originally posted by Jith_in View Post
What is that part and what is it's use?Tapatalked from my Canvas A76That mark coinciding with the parallel surface depends on the timing sprocket. Some sprockets mark will be parallel some will be slight slant. Loosen the timing chain tensioner and the mark will get parallel. It is not a problem until and unless timing becomes a problem. Slight up down is ok. But let me tell you that if the sprocket is moved one teeth left or right while fitting the chain, bike will feel like it is fully gone. It is a important part and always try to fit it as much possible keeping the timing equal.Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostAlso, while adjusting the tappet clearance, while trying to get this alignment, the 2 guidelines would never become parallel to the cylinder head. Got my fork done today too, mechanic poured a bottle of Valvoline fork oil in each fork. Bought 2 bottles, each 175mlOriginally posted by PRATHM View PostHello Friends.
As i had posted long back. i changed front fork oil at hero ASC & mechanic over there put 175 ml of oil. My friend ridden my bike & he said its ok no problem, your bike is smooth. Today took her out after 10 days, as i was busy & not getting time to ride her. I still felt some cycle handle kinda effect. Also while riding at night, i felt that headlight beam was not stable at it was before, that too on smooth road, giving some shaking kind of light throw. So what should i do now, drain fork oil & fill it with exactly 160 ml of oil or this shaky problem will go away. I remember my bike`s handle was not so bouncy before changing oil. Also if alignment of fitting fork changes little bit, will it make effect...?
Kindly reply.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I was looking at these mirrors for the bike. They're about 6cm longer overall and the mirror by itself is 1.5cm longer. And the Hunk has bad mirrors as it is. These mirrors cost Rs. 850.
Worth it?

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
The timing chain tensioner is the part no-5 that is shown in the parts catalogue. You can loosen the timing chain by adjusting the tensioner. The tensioner can be adjusted by opening the star shaped screw on the tensioner. Then inserting a thin line tester in the tensioner and twisting the tensioner till its full tight. On full tight the tensioner will get loose. To return back just rotate the tensioner in opposite direction and spring will push it back to original position. While fitting the screw back of tensioner window check the o-ring and fit back. The spark plug color is perfect. No need to touch the AFR screw now.Originally posted by ashwin.terminator View PostOh, so I will be changing the Timing Chain Tensioner and the Rocker Arms this service then. re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Sorry, After lots of observation I didn't find any change in gearing, I also feel that 1st & 2nd gear of hunk is too short 3-5th are good even in 3rd & 4th bike pulls fantastically after 5K.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View Postminor difference will come. now if your gearing is longer, you might be able to shift gear say 2-3kmph later for 5th gear, which i would love to do since hunk is much short geared.
If you change your front wheel height, then speedo error will occur.
BTW, if you would have opted for 110/80 then cornering might get improved. but with 110/90 i dont think much improvement in cornering. this is theoretical explanation, practically you have explain us about how did you feel...
This is one of the reason why tyres with larger width doesn't comes with higher profile (very few are available, but for totally different category bike).
the same goes when you much under inflate your tyre, the speedo will show higher value than actual but very marginal. for this condition we might experience like, riding feel wise=45kmph, but speedo reading=50kmph
If you found any other theory/experience, plz share with us.
That kat-kat sound from the cone set gone which I reported few days back, mech tighten it.
One general question came in my mind that our bikes cylinder size pretty big compare to splendor cylinders, it is because of that tappet and timing chain located on top of which manage the valve open & closing functionality, right?
So these 100cc engines don't have valves and that kind of functionality, because once I was a splendor cylinder open by a mech. I find different compare to my, can somebody clear my doubt ?KTM RC390 - Current

Our bikes cylinder is bigger coz its a higher cc compared to splendor, and every bike has valves and timing chain, even gearless scooters like activa etc.Originally posted by itsmevini123 View PostSorry, After lots of observation I didn't find any change in gearing, I also feel that 1st & 2nd gear of hunk is too short 3-5th are good even in 3rd & 4th bike pulls fantastically after 5K.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
hmm...its good that you didnt feel any change in gearing. that is mostly because you dint change the height of the front tyre. between , you are referring to 5K rmp, that means on top gear right.?Originally posted by itsmevini123 View PostSorry, After lots of observation I didn't find any change in gearing, I also feel that 1st & 2nd gear of hunk is too short 3-5th are good even in 3rd & 4th bike pulls fantastically after 5K.

our bike is bit uniquely designed. if you ride apache, you wont find much difference. In hunk/xtreme, torque is inclined towards lower end and power is inclined towards top end. the thing is in our bike the designer used the advantage of torque and reduced the gearing in the lower end, which gives the similar effect of short stroke bikes. and then on the top end they have given more power delivery and hence we can feel the bike is unleashing post 60kmph. so in between this transition, i.e mid range our bike wont be that nice especially 45-60kmph where fz performs exceptionally well.
regarding to your question, all bikes have valves for intake and outlet. and timing chain connects the cam shaft (which actuate valves) with the crank shaft. hence it is mandatory for all bikes. some premium bikes will have two intake and two outlet valves termed as 4 valve engine and technically its DOHC (dual overhead camshafts ). which increases power and can run @ higher speed..
