Check the float in tank. See if it is still floating or submerged in tank.

If it is submerged that means float has been damaged.

              Hey guys,

the new hero hunk which i bought in october 2014 is awesome bike. But after second servicing i felt that problem start arising one by one but the main problem is service center. The layman always ask me how your battery is malfunctioning in just 5 months. Fed up with the service and fed up complaining about the service center to the hero motocorp. They always take side of the service center mechanics. Even i heard statement like " tumhari akele ki bike nahi hey servicing ke liye, aur bhi hey"
my bike is great but due to service i advertise my bike quikr and found two customers also.
But i want to keep patience as bike will soon get battery replaced. Lets see what happen next......

              • Communication with HMC and Me

Remember the last time I posted regarding the weird khissss-khisss sound from the front wheel and erroneously that I had thought it to be it plastic stuck under the front fender. It was actually the fron hub bearing/speedo magnet area gone dry. Cleaned it with kero, re-greased it and the sound was gone completely!

                The Issue:
During this period, when I was doing the rounds of the service center - the head mechanic of the ASC reported that the bike was vibrating too much - to which he had suggested that the crank bearings might have gone. That included the roller bearing. When I claimed warranty, they denied on the grounds that post the 6 free services, I had done only one paid service. The last engine oil change was showing at 12250 kms. Now, I was obviously not a fool to not have changed engine oil - I did, with Veedol mostly and Gulf once. After some discussion with Sibun, I decided to mail the Hero offices.

                Communication via E-Mail:
Mailed - Ranchi, Kolkata, Patna and Bhubaneshwar offices together. (Jamshedpur falls under Ranchi zone btw). Repeated mailings later, I got a call from Hero to visit the dealer from where I had purchased the bike.
Now obviously, they were not keen to take reposnsibilty of my bike - even I was not interested knowing the quality of their servicing. Later that evening, I got a call from Hero persiting and arguing for a 'middle-ground' - acceptable to both parties. I wouldn't let the warranty claim slip and they were adamant not to cover that under warranty. After 48 minutes of relentless non-stop persistence, I agreed on a 50% discount on parts to be changed and no servicing charge to be borne by me. To which the manager agreed and asked me to drop off the bike at the service center near my home. After 3 days, I got a refreshed bike.

                Post Servicing Observations:
The sound has definitely lessed and is a lot smoother now. However, the vibrations are not gone perfectly. Moreover the engine feels tighter - obviously for all the parts that were changed. Here is the bill. I saved a big amount on labor charges. Engine overhauling charges are 1200+taxes here!

                Under observation:
Will let the new engine break it for at least 800 kms, abd then change the oil to Veedol 10W40 considering summers here. Will adjust tappets after 500kms. Will clean carb once paul1911 gets here on a vacation! :P

                  Hello Friends,
My xtreme was last serviced around 400 kms ago. Carb was cleaned(Only lower half) and all the jets were cleaned as well. Replaced Air filter and got the chain cleaned. Currently running on Gulf 4T Plus 10w30(My fav )
There is still a certain lag in pickup. The engine is screaming in higher rpm's. But no mismatch in rpm-Speed ratio. Still doing 64 kmph @ 5K rpm in 5th gear. What should I check now.

Are you sure.? in stock sprocket it should do 62 @ 5000rpm.

what is your speed at 4000 rpm?

ok. i just want to confirm. My bike values are exactly as per gearing commander. even with 15T Sprocket, the values are matching perfectly.

Weird that it varies for different bikes.

Slight variations would be there based on tire pressure, tire wear etc.

Yes, I am getting 64 kmph@ 5K right from beginning. Only when the clutch plates were down, this came to a lower value.
