Unless the 'vibrations' prevent the bike from going in a straight line, I would say that its all in your head. Cause my ZMA never vibrated, until I once observed the handle bars vibrating a bit in idle, and with the P220 I've never even knew that the bike vibrated, until I extended by finger and touched the switch assembly. So I would suggest that you not be bothered by vibrations, but as mentioned before, if it is preventing the bike from properly functioning, then its definitely worth inspecting.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Suppose ur bike is going @60 kmph and your handlebar vibrating, you are keeping your knees attached to tank and that petrol tank is also vibrating, you are keeping your foot on the footpeg and thats also vibrating but the bike is definitely going to a straight line. So shall i consider it that its all in my head?? no i should not my Hunk vibrates (in fact all only Hero Hunk does) more than any other air cooled 150CC and thats true. I try to love my bike but whenever i hit highway i had to forget that I used to be a tourer with my Ex-Unicorn and 2009 CBZ X......becasue i cant even ride at 70KMPH due to heavy vibration. These vibrations become more apparent when i ride other 150CC bikes that doesnt vibrate. I would definitely like to take even Apache on highway, yes it vibrates but at certain rpm not through the whole rpm range but it provides awesome power too.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostUnless the 'vibrations' prevent the bike from going in a straight line, I would say that its all in your head. Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
^^one more thing i felt is that the hunk is a bit sluggish compared to 2011 xtreme.
Need a reply from sibun ji

k.. I'm yet to ride a properly maintained 2011 xtreme.might get one next week.will reply after that.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostI have 2011 model xtreme. It has slight vibrations only in 4 k rpm which is due to resonance of engine frequency. After 5 k engine is butter smooth and punchy accelerates like a turbo engine. No vibrations till redline. only little vibrations in foot pegs on redlining. So the bike is not the problem. It is the service centers ruining the bike.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Ok lots of thing going on here. I was out of this thread for long.
Ok let me add here nobody is trying to find a solution. Every body is on blame game. If there is a problem there is a solution. Let me tell all of you here, you guys ask here and people like me,shoeb, rohiit, Paul, psr sir all give solutions. I am sorry if I have missed out some friends name.
But have you thought how we find solutions. How our bikes runs perfectly. Its because we are the guys who would be sitting whole night with tools repairing bike. We are the guys who tests the bike day in and out till we are satisfied with its performance. Then with our experience we help you all.
But some guys are here who just do not want to find solutions. They just give statement like this model was good and that model was bad.
I own a 2011 model cbz extreme and I get a mileage of 52-55 kpl cruising in between 70-80 kph. Bike has vibrations in between 4-5k rpm. After that none. After 6k rpm I dare any 150 cc air cooled bike to gun with my bike. After 6k kms my bikes character changes. Also my bikes smoothness at high rev is excellent.
Those suffering from vibrations need to check all these:-
1. First tappet setting - I have never seen any bike so much dependent on tappet settings. Set perfectly to 0.06 and 0.10 mm. No less or more.
2. Fuel adjustments - this bike is leaned from factory. So need to tune it. Most bike I have seen has 1.75-1.9 turns works excellent.
3. Chain- check the chain tension and lubrication. Clean chain regularly and lube with 140 grade hear oil. Footrest vibration will go. Even tight chain will cause foot rest vibration.
3. Engine oil- Hero oil will cause vibration. Get veedol 10 W 30 else any 10 w 40. At high speeds bike will be smooth.
4. Air filter - this bike runs a 28 mm venturi and 128 main jet. A slight dirty ot damaged filter will cause heavy problems.
5. Check the engine mounts- loosen all engine mounts studds. Start the bike and rev hard. Then let it idle and tighten all nuts while engine is idling.
P.S- I am not angry. I am just amazed how you come to conclusion than all bikes post this year vibrates.
Try to find solutions. I am always teaching and giving ideas. Some day try to find solution and you post here.
Do the above thing.
And hunk levs less hard because of different cdi from both

Yes change the CDI to extreme one. Bike will feel more eager to rev.Originally posted by Krishna3450 View PostNo ..i was not concluding.quoted the year to let you know how old the bikes i rode were.thanks for reply.
One more dumb question: is it possible to do some mod and make hunk as reviving as xtreme?

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hi Guys.
Been a while since I have been on this thread. Not been here ever since xBhp's long outage a month or so ago.
That said, bike is consistently returning 46-48kmpl and this is in terrible, terrible traffic.
Bike is now running with a 15T front sprocket, 42T rear sprocket and the Dazzler's O-Ring Chain. Apart from that, the Big Bore is working wonderfully. Hoping to get my hands on the FFE sometime. :P But before that, I definitely want to get my hands on the Xtreme's CDI and then try it on my bike. But it costs 1500+.
As Sibun said, we're all here to help each other out. Let's be nice and be respectful.
I have learn a LOT from this community. Especially from certain members. Regulars on this thread will definitely understand whom I am referring to. We're all learning everyday, let's learn and then spread that knowledge as much as we can.
@shoeb2015, my Allen Key kit was with a friend of mine. So wasn't able to open the Timing Window today while adjusting tappets. Then I remembered a tip someone had posted about removing the spark plug and then turning the rear wheel. Worked like a charm. Kudos to you man!

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Query related to HeadLight- My bike is a Dec 2007 model Hunk and the headlight throw is very poor. I think the battery is 3Ah or 4Ah. Any suggestion to improve the brightness like fitting a Philips 55w bulb or LED's without touching the electrical like coil rewinding or battery upgrade. Have seen few products in ebay which say direct fit on most bikes, it says work on DC, but I believe Hunk has got AC circuit. Also is it legal to fit white light? ride is in Bangalore.
Kindly provide the link where the suggested product can be purchased.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hello Friends,Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostHello Friends
Got my xtreme serviced yesterday @ 51200K on ODO.
Got the tappets adjusted exactly @ 0.06mm for Inlet and 0.1 mm for Outlet using feeler gauge. Now engine note has improved.
My mech was still telling me that why did you bought a feeler gauge
, since he does not needs one but I insisted and got the work done.
Used Petronas Sprinta 10w30 mineral oil with Nulon E-25 engine treatment.
One of my friend suggested me that Nulon is good for old bore(More than 20K), and it helps in maintaining good lubrication of engine components.
Cannot comment about its effectiveness right now. Will update you all after observing for a while.
Handle had developed some horizontal play, so got it tightened and now it's fine.
Now, I will get the rear shocks serviced very soon
My xtreme's current ODO reading is 52900 K, and I have been using Nulon E-25 since last 1700 K.
Nulon has eliminated the engine harshness to some extend, and there is improvement in pick-up as well.
Once my bike crossed 50 K, there was definite lag in pick-up and engine was not as smooth as it used to be.
But as soon as I switched to Nulon, there is a boost in performance.
I'm aware that engine oil additives can clog the oil pump/oil strainer, but looking at its beneficial effects and the age of my engine I thought that its worth trying.
Should I continue using Nulon till 3 oil changes to harness the good effects?
Kindly suggest

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Few days ago I put my cbz on side stand, then it started raining. The soil become wet and soft.
Some how after a few hrs, CBZ fell toward a wall and made big scratches on the front visor. I thought, I can replace it.
But the next day, I found crack on the speedometer glass.
Don't know what to do.Last edited by abhisheklalnediya; 04-16-2015, 09:30 AM.
