And one more thing is that if you want your bike to perform like new then stay away from SVC. find a good local mechanic. And there are lot of experienced member who can guide you and pay special attention to what they say. And last but not least pay special attention to me and what i say.

Extreme is the fastest air cooled 150 cc bikes. It accelerates like bat out of hell. If it is not accelerating properly then there ought to be a problem.

First of all i would like to add, that extreme feels the happiest when running on 10W 30 or 10 W 40 oil. 10 W 30 is best. If using 20 W 40 then let me tell you, extreme looses all the punch and pull and also mileage. So engine oil has to be 10 W30 and no other oils.

Second thing is tappets adjustments. Extreme is quite sensitive to Tappets adjustments. Since it has high lift camshaft so when tappets are not adjusted properly it will loose power heavily. Adjust inlet tappets at 0.06 mm for inlet and 0.10 mm for exhaust.

Third thing is clean and set carburettor. Extreme doesn't like running lean. So clean carburettor and choke thoroughly and set tuning. Most bikes tuning range from 7.75-2.0 turns from full closed position of fuel screw. Also check choke cable and replace that if jammed or has less free play.

Fourth thing is at 54 K the clutch will be worn. Change the plates to OE ones. Before changing remember to soak the plates in engine oil overnight before fitting it.

Fifth thing is that engine will be leaking compression. So best option is to re-bore the engine or new bore and change and polish the valves. Bike will run like new.

For shock absorber get it overhauled at shock repairing guys who repair gas shocks. Local mechanics can guide you to them.

And open the suspension and change the bush and bearings. Convert to twin bearings like i have mentioned few pages back.

And check the chain sprockets. If the previous owner had fitted Unicorn ones then your pick up will be screwed.

Wow Sibun, you quite made a detailed help for my query...
i very much appreciate your knowledge on the subject...

so, now, point-wise reply to your help:

    1. I live in Pune, and it's been only a few months here for me, and i live in a silent and residential location, where i could only find a repair shop within 1-2 km,
my request: anybody, who lives in Pune (preferably near Kalyani Nagar), could u please help me, if u know any good and believable mechanic, please reply me back, i am in urgent need, the heating issue is making me worry much about the bike.
    2. Tappet adjustment: i read about it (i am not a experienced person in mechanical details of bike, but i am getting to know it), and i guess, i will let this be intially done by experienced person (mechanic), and then, i will do trial and error, so i could learn better.
    3. Clean carburetor, choke: will be done in servicing
    4. Clutch Plates: I really do think that this is the most necessary issue i should focus on.
    5. Rebore engine, Polish Valves: i assume that this will cost me much, so, will need to think on that
    6. Shocker overhauling: this seems to be a necessity also.

Lastly, it seems that i need to do many things, to get optimum performance of the bike.

so, anyone, who is experienced in knowing a good mechanic in Pune, please do let me know, else i would have to go service center for these things (most of the things).

    thanks again, Sibun.

      Hello Friends,

My xtreme has clocked 53600 Kms as of now.
Since last couple of months, the rear shocks had gone really bad and it was giving 'thak-thak' noise even on smallest of bumps.
Got them replaced with genuine pair of GRS shocks. Now the handling and comfort is back again.

In the gear pedal assembly, the connecting rod had gone loose and once one of the clip also fell down while riding in 5th gear
So, I thought to replace the complete assembly with genuine ones.

Throttle cable had gone very hard as well. Can't recall the last time when the throttle cable was replaced. Used OEM cable again.
Also, lost the left side handle weight again. Maybe, the grooves in the handle bar have been damaged. So this time I have used a longer screw.

Rear Disc pad had lost bite. Bought ASK ones again, since previous ones lasted nearly 15K.

Below are the images of spare parts purchased. Got the general servicing done along with these replacements from my Mech yesterday.

      1. Cushion Assembly Rear

      2. Gear Pedal Assembly

      3. Throttle cable and Handle weight

      4. Rear Disc Pads (ASK make for R15)

      5. Gulf Pride 4T Synth (1L)

      6. My bike is now as good as new

Shocks cost still around 2k per unit, is it?
I was keeping a wild hope of that coming down to say atleast 1.5k
A Hyundai Accent's front shock cost around 10k only, while our 150cc bike having whopping 4k for a pair!

Yes, MRP for each unit is Rs. 2000. I got 10% discount so the net price came down to Rs. 1800 per unit.

I am planning to do a service sometimes next week.
Please suggest me what are the things I need to do as proactive maintainance.
Currently I am feeling a bit harsh driving experience, bike is not feeling very free as it was.
I did oil change few hundread kms back.
                Thanks in advance.

                    Yes, they are direct fit.
I'm currently on third set of ASK pads. Bite is just good enough. I always replace them after 10-12K regardless they are worn or not.
In fact once the genuine Nissin pads were worn out @ 25K, never bothered to use them again due to it's insane pricing.

                        1. Make sure you use the correct grade engine oil 10w30.
                        2. Adjust tappets using feeler gauge if you can hear some rattling noise from engine when heated up.
                        3. If air filter is not changed in the previous 10k kms then change it
                        4. Change spark plug if older than 15k kms
                        5. Clean chain and adjust slack to 1.5 inch lube using sae 90 grade gear oil do not over tight. Check condition of chain and sprockets replace if worn out
                        6. Check the condition of brake pads and brake fluid. if fluid is older than 1-1.5 years then change it.
                        7. Tune carburetor if you facing any performance loss or drop in mileage, cold start issues etc.
Hope these will do it. If any problem is still there post them here specifically.

[MENTION=6155]@abhisheklalnediya: I'm on Bosch front disk pads since last 13K kms, and I must admit it's performance is quite close to OE ones!!
I've attached my post for your reference.

Also, it was constantly rubbing the disc plate even after filing it with sandpaper, due to which there was screeching sound coming which was very irritating.
Luckily I found a Bosch Retailer and purchased Bosch Front disc pads. Now, the braking a has improved and bite is back. I observed that the thickness of pad was less in Bosch pads as compared to Makino pads, so they are not rubbing the disc plates as well. While installing, my mechanic just filed it slightly and that was enough.
