Dear All
Need suggestion.
Curently i am confused among these 3 engine oils:
1. Motul 3100 10w30
2. Gulf pride 10w30
3. Castrol power 1
I want to stick to only 1 engine oil. Currently using Motul 3100, its great and smooth but pricey whereas gulf and power1 is half the price.
Please suggest me whether shall i stick to Motul or anything else. Smoothness and less vibration is my priority.

Engine Oils - Page 949
Hello Friends,
My xtreme has clocked around 59K on odo. Off late, the engine began to scream a lot @ higher RPM's and overall fuel efficiency dropped to 35-36 Kmpl from 40 Kmpl
So finally decided to use HDEO this time. Searched a lot for Shell Remula R3x/R4 in Delhi, but could not source in 1 liter can. However I got Mobil Delvac Super 1300, which was available in 1 liter packing.
Replaced the Air filter after 9K with genuine one.
Replaced the brake fluid of both the disc brakes with KBX DOT4 brake fluid.
Got the chain cleaned and lubricated with SAE-90 grade gear oil.

After this servicing, the smoothness is back. Brake bite has improved a lot as well.
As far as HDEO performance is concerned, I will update you all after riding 500 Kms, but the initial impression is fine(This could just be the effect of fresh engine oil also). I will keep a watch on fuel efficiency as well.
Below are the images of Engine Oil and brake Fluid for your reference.

ShahriarXtreme Among all the 3 listed options, I would definitely go for Gulf. I have used Gulf Pride 4T Plus 10w30 extensively in my xtreme, and I am quite satisfied with it's performance. You can certainly try Gulf for once and then decide yourself. Here in Delhi both Gulf Pride 4T Plus and Motul 3100 mineral costs the same (Around Rs.230-250).

Edit: I forgot to mention that even my Mech was aware about using HDEO in motorcycles. He told me that one of his friend who is a 'RE Bullet only' mechanic recommends the same to his customers.

Hello friends.
Did with tappet adjustment with inlet 0.06mm & outlet 0.10 mm. Bike make some chan chan noise now. Bad thing happened is both head screw threads are slipping now. So will get brass bush done with re threading done on weekend as head is not properly fitted, within 2 mins oil started coming out of from gap of head cover, so not riding now. Also during dismantling of engine some how i lost green o ring which is there inside head ( It was bright day when started doing work but sudden heavy rain screwed all my plan). So went in search of green o ring. Hero ASC don't sell it in loose, have to buy whole package that have head gaskets n some 10 items. It cost almost 290 Rs. Even HONDA dealer dint have them. Later found that o ring in one shop. By the time i came, its all became dry in society compound so found original o ring lying somewhere. Also found this while hunting for O ring in shops.

OSRAM SILVERSTAR 35W. Yet to test light on road.
So now next thing will be getting good quality tools, as present set of spanners are not so good. Those ring type spanner slipping while opening nuts. Can anyone suggest good quality T spanners & its cost. Already have Taparia make Allen key set & Stanley make feeler gauge.
Experience: At one time i became so unconscious that my hand started shivering as engine cover was not fitting properly. Almost about to cry thinking in my mind i screwed my xtreme.. But somehow gathered some courage & went ahead.
Lessons learned : If you want to do work by your self, get good quality tools first. Local made tools are almost useless. They not only damage nut bolts of our ride but also harm to you also( I broke one pipe type spanner while opeing one nut bolt, the one we get in tool kit for opening spark plug.
Also never over tighten any bolt or else it may cost a bomb.

.
i have used this bulb. it is better than stock. the beam throw will be more converged which is good for city ride and local streets but for high way its not good.
after many trials with many bulbs finally settled with osram normal bulb but 55w. but iam also thinking of getting silverstar 55w version.

But it says 20m more distance than stock on packet I kept stock bulb due to this only. Earlier i had swapped with Phillips make 55w bulb but that was not good. Also light was yellowish. Switched to Stock one as its light is whitish.

that 20% distance is nothing but some patch of beam will appear at distance. but what i mean is the beam throw is more confined and hence we wont get broad illumination on high ways.
but for me 55w works very well. BTW yellow colour will give more visibility than white. white is for look.

Hello Friends,

My experience with Mobil Delvac HDEO was OK. Here are my observation after clocking 1000 Kms.
Pros:
Super smooth engine.
Cons:
Hard gear shifts, Just a bit of sluggishness in acceleration.

Only because of notchy gear shifts, I had to drain this oil after 1000 kms. Will certainly try Shell Remula R3x/R4, if I am able to source it in 1 liter can
The engine oil level over dipstick was fine at the time of draining.

Reverted back to tried and tested Veedol take-off 10w30 this time

My front Tyre was asking for replacement from quite some time. The handle was also wobbling at high speeds due to wear in the Tyre.
Finally replaced it with the same brand i.e MRF Nylogrip Zapper FS 80/100 TL, since the stock one lasted really long (Nearly 60K), and I was fully satisfied with it's performance.

Also, I was able to find Osram Silverstar 35/35w bulb in Delhi finally. Moreover @PRATHM is using the same bulb in his xtreme, which looks bright enough. Will keep you all posted regarding my experience with this bulb.

Today changed my stock handlebar to Pulsar UG3 pipe handlebar.

Handlebar vibration reduced by a lot and suddenly bike feels way smoother.

I know that due to pulsars heavy bar end weights vibrations reduced but in terms of smoothness i have no idea

Dear All I am looking forward to install 110/90 size tire on my hunk.
As per theory it will overgear my hunk and will add 2-3 kmph more speed per rpm. Is it correct?
If it is true then i will replace my existing modded 15t front sprocket with stock 14t front sprocket.

Yesterday Changed air filter and spark plug.
Air filter is not OEM, and
Mechanic put pulsar 150 spark plug.
