Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
For hunk its 2.5l and my reserve to reserve mileage would be around 52-55kmpl and hence mine is similar in reserve alone figure too.Originally posted by PRATHM View Post

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Are you running too much lean mix ??Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostGuys...need suggestion:
my hunk has done 41000Kms .now when i do accelerate the bike, i could feel the torque and bike attains speed without any issue.
but when i release the throttle say at 60kmph, i could never feel the back torque ( engine braking), and the bike tends to slow down at very slow rate, it just keep on going. Previously whenever i release the throttle, the back torque would be very high and would give tremendous engine braking.
is this due to the clutch plate wear or any other issue i need to look at. i haven't change the clutch plate yet and its running on stock one.
i checked the rpm rise against the speed and there is no noticeable delay is claiming speed.
my doubt is even if clutch plate wear is the reason, then how am i getting good acceleration torque and not the back torque (engine braking).?
anyone had this same experience before ?
If you have set the a/f screw too lean you'll have to set the idle screw more in order to compensate for the loss in rpm at idling.
Which in turn limits the minimum gap at which your butterfly closes .
In short in order to sustain rpm's at lean mixtures you'll have to open more of your butterfly which reduces engine braking.
You also mentioned idle dropping very slowly in the lower rpm range, which also indicates a lean mixture.
It's just my 2 cents,
Please check this before committing to a difficult task like a valve job.

thanks for the reply. currently my tuning is at 1.75 turns. and i didnt do any carb tuning for long time..Originally posted by V!RU$ View PostAre you running too much lean mix ??

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Tried with 1.6 and 1.75 turns. It runs too lean. But, once its heated up the bike responds well.
Today, I tuned it for 2 turns and seems like mixture is just good. Cold idle rpm is 1000rpm and hot idle rpm is 1400rpm.
Now I do not see any overheating issue nor lpg smell of unburnt fuel. Been using 2T oil.
But, still I can feel vibrations in handle bar and fuel tank below 3500rpm.

Can i get that diaphragm assembly as a spare !Can this be rectified/repaired apart from replacing the slide ??Originally posted by RohIIT View PostIts available as spare i suppose. Question is how did it even get bruised ? I have seen cbz/hunk with horrendous abuse but never a bruised or scratched slide. Check your carb thoroughly as something caused it to wear.Code:https://www.instagram.com/ankit_himalayas/

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Bro guess what .......it worked. i have kept lean and to achieve the idle speed i kept the valve bit more open and hence the reduction in back torque.Originally posted by V!RU$ View PostAre you running too much lean mix ??

now kept at 2 turns and cold rpm 800 and hot rmp 1300 without any cold start issue. yea i guess its bit on rich side but i like it very much. have to check the mileage now.
thanks bro.
Now i guess hunkcbz clutch is damn stubborn to wear.....superb quality.

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
My Hero Hunk has completed 20,000 kms today
I used to have cbz xtreme back in 2011 which was quite vibe free (Except for handelbar vibe) and smooth till 7900RPM. After 7900RPM it used to vibrate furiously which definitely was coming from engine.
Now My hero hunk has the same issue. It has vibrations from 6K rpm- 7K rpm but starts vibrating very badly after at 7900RPM and increases more at 8500RPM just like how it did with my Ex-Cbz Xtreme. Definitely the nature of vibrations tell me it is coming directly from the engine.
Vibration Nature: Everywhere.
So according to my experience this is a trait of this engine but as per others experience it doesnt occur with others bike.
Anybody else has similar experience?

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
In that case you should try vibrator machine (TVS APACHE) whihc vibrate like hell. Compared to it, extreme, hunk is quite silent. Also try riding at 100-110 & then come back to 50-60-70, you will fell almost no vibes. This is what i experienced when ridden long distances. When bike is properly warmed-up, she rides good, if not then she will be like hell to ride. At the end its single cylinder, dont expect anything more.Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostMy Hero Hunk has completed 20,000 kms today

PS: Wanna torture someone, ask him to seat as pillion. Pull above 70+kmph, footpegs will start vibrating like hell, he will beg to ride slowly..

Re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I was trying to post since last 10 days, and finally succeeded today!
Posting it in 4 parts:
My xtreme has clocked 61.5 K Kms till now.
List of current issues with my bike:
1. Tappets were making noise.
2. Front brake bite had deteriorated.
3. The tail light was kept disconnected since quite some time because of some short circuit in it's wiring, which was leading to frequent blowing of main fuse.
4. Horn switch was not working properly.
Firstly I visited to a nearby auto-electrician to fix all the electrical issues.
He opened the tail light assembly, and I must say that it was quite time taking for him because of insufficient tools.
Finally the culprit was found, which was this orange wire(marked in red). The insulation over this wire was totally scrapped-off, and it was in direct contact with the body causing short circuit.
He insulated this wire properly using electric tape, and since then tail light is working fine
The number plate light bulb was also fused, and he replaced the same.
He opened the switch assembly and cleaned the horn switch contact from inside. Now the switch is working fine.

Bike Suggestion
Hi,
Contemplating whether or not to take this used bike. Please suggest. It's hero cbz extreme march 2013 model run for above 53k kms. Not sure if the engine is really good even though my mechanic says it's good coz it's not really smooth. Please provide your valuable answers asap as I've to come to conclusion by tomorrow eod.
Thanks!

Hello, Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Plus 53k kms in 2 years is a lot. I'd look at other options unless this was worshiped and maintained in pristine condition.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
