Not sidewall leakage.. 3-4 puncture in tyre itself.

If the tyre have more rubber left then put tube else change tyre. Don't go for stock zapper y. Go for zapper q or zapper vyde.

Hi Friends,
My xtreme has reached 58K on odo. Engine is now screaming a lot @ higher rpm's. Tappets have been adjusted using feeler gauge. There is no noise from timing chain either. I believe this is due to aging engine components.
I am considering to try Shell Remula 15w40 engine oil this time. I have read about it's cleaning and sealing properties over Xbhp itself. What's your take on using diesel engine oil in our rides.

Don't go for Diesel oils for regular running As the Engine is quite older at 58k. May create problems.
Better go for Shell AX4 semisynthetic 10w40, if you have used 10w30 recommended grade till now. Check the noise level then. Also inspect the condition of chain, sprockets, wheel bearings, brake pads.

Thanks for your pointers Lokesh027.
I've been using 10w30 grade strictly till date of mostly Gulf/Veedol brand. I had used Shell AX7 a couple of times in past, but my bike didn't really liked this oil.
AFAIK, HDEO Oils are better suited for older 4 stroke engines. How to check the condition of wheel bearing?

In my opinion Diesel oil should be good when engine is new and clearances are low and so high detergent properties won't affect much. After long run, when carbon is deposited, slight erosion may cause some compression loss. Also, clutch may slip.
You can try Rimula R3x its good, initially you will feel supersmooth ride. Drain this early ~500kms as it will carry sludge and carbon deposits. Share your feedback on this.
To check for wheel bearings, rotate the wheel freely, feel the vibrations if bearing is bad else it will be smooth. Also you can check movement around the axle by holding the wheel at two opposite directions and applying force alternatively. You may need to observe how mechanic does this check.

Just came across this post in the 'Engine Oil' thread, where shv18 had used Shell Rimula HDEO in a very ill maintained CBZ Xtreme.
The results were more than satisfactory.

Hello Friends,
My xtreme's left side switch assembly has gone kaput due to rusting of inner contacts.
Horn switch is not working at all. Mech has asked to replace the complete assembly.
My query is in case of non-availability of genuine left side switch assembly, can the same assembly of Unicorn be used in xtreme?

Hi everybody. I'm new to xbhp. I own a CBZ xtreme 2009 model bought it in 2010. 45000KM done till date. Used by my dad so no hard revving etc only 40-50km/hr. now i want to takeover the bike. My problem is the bike is not looked after for past 2000km, oil seal of gear rod is gone and the engine oil was all gone, when i just start and raise the accelerator there is a Black smoke from exhaust, sewing machine like sound from engine head, the mileage was dropped to 30 or so, previously i used to get 50+. So i decided to get it repaired, and took it to Hero Authorized Service Center in Hyderabad. The mechanic took my bike to a ride and after coming back he gave me a list of repairs and the cost of them are whopping 10,000 ₹. The repairs he said was Chain Sprocket set, timing chain, clutch plates, oil seals, etc so i returned from there and went to local mechanic, Changed gear rod oil seal, cleaned carburetor (each and every valve of it with thin wires etc for 30 minutes), Cleaned spark plug it looked black, drained old engine oil, came around 250ml, poured new Hero Engine oil 10w30, replaced air filter all for 700₹. As i was not having budget for chain sprockets, clutch plates etc, But my CBZ xtreme pick up was increased a bit, now the bike was smooth than before mileage was around 40KM. Now went to another mechanic and said that i'm getting sound from engine he listened and said that is valve's problem you have to go to grinding machine shop they will get it done etc after listening that i ran from there. Now after riding for 5Km engine is getting very hot. all the fins are clean, no extra fittings added. Engine never opened, all are stock parts no part is replaced till date except air filters etc, tell me what causes over heating, suggest some repairs, and also will they really cost 10,000₹ ?? I'm attaching the video of Engine sound and smoke of my bike.

ASC normally quote high because they would charge whooping amount as labor charge. chain sprocket would cost Rs. 850 (local mechanic would do if u buy them), clutch plate would cost around Rs.900. the sewing machine sound is the valve tappet sound. u take it to ASC and tell them to do tappet adjustment. no grinding work needed. for heat management check whether u have sufficient amount of oil using dip stick method. but one thing heating is normal and in side city it tends to heat more, so dont come to the conclusion straight awy that your bike has some problem.
from your explaination i understood that it is not maintained properly so it is highly recommended to change the chain sprocket and clutch plate.
sprocket wear u can find out by checking the teeth whether it become sharp at the tip ( check images from google). clutch plate you can know little bit by observing the rpm Vs kmph in your bike and compare with normal ones, another way is to observe while giving throttle check whether the speedometer climbs relatively to the rpm.

Another tip: since it is not revved much, after settling down take your bike in haigh way and ride at high speed. this way ur bike would gain the momentum and any carbon deposits would be flushed out.

Thank you very much for the reply. I will get them done later this week. since my bike clocked 45K KM's should i clean my piston head for carbon deposit when opening the engine for tappet adjustment. Or shall i just try your method. What is your opinion on decarbonizing liquids. What about the black smoke from exhaust when revving hard...??

high revving will not completely flush out the carbon deposit if any. u have to clean it.

and i have never used any cleaning liquids. so no idea on this regard.

regarding smoke: since it is black, it is a symptom that more fuel is being burnt. check for air filter clogging. tune the carburetor to optimum level.

some guys here are more expert in this subject. they can help u. but always research few thing before going to mechanic or ASC.

Check for oily deposit on exhaust pipe. If it is wet then you may need to open the engine.
check for wear in chain sprocket and clutch plates as dinesh bro said.
