Although, I didn't changed handlebar. Just welded some rings and bolts onto handlebar ends and fitted Pulsar bar ends. Then, put some nice grips and now vibration is much less than previous and i love to cruise at 70-80 kph

True, there is nothing much to discuss. Hero has refused to bring any sort of technology update to their vintage lineup of bikes. They have missed several chances of updating these bikes with some good features. When are they ever going to learn. They are spending a huge amount of money on new stickers. The EBR buyout seems like a big dud. Next year I might be planning a bike upgrade. I am not sure if I am going to buy another bike from HMCL. The hero Hastur is no where to be seen.

I guess some companies are satisfied with the ordinary 100cc commuting bikes they manufacture. RIP HMCL.

Every company need some time to get stable after a split. Hero is working to come up and they will. Unlike others hero doesn't give much ads and trailers. Just wait and see.. Hx will be out on 2016 and new zmr is coming on this diwali

If it is true then i will replace my existing modded 15t front sprocket with stock 14t front sprocket.
15T with broad trye will definitely reduce the torque and bike will struggle a bit in climbing the slope and with pillion. But i guess u can buy 14T separately and swap it if you need. its a simple DIY.

if you fit 120mm section with 14T, you will get the gearing close to the 15T with 100mm section.

i would say 110 with 14T is a perfect balance.

I agree with you , but the Hero - Honda split was not sudden. It was long foreseen. It has been a long time since the split now. I heard that the HX 250r launch has been postponed due to the closure of EBR. The launch of the new ZMR is much awaited, I hope it is not just a sticker refreshment. There are tons of areas where improvement can be made. Couple of years ago I too made a statement like you with a lot of hopes, but now I am dissapointed :-(

Let us wait and watch. Hero is not living up to its fullest potential. They have good footprints in overseas markets too. I wonder why they are hesitant to bring out nice bikes. Look at Bajaj, they bought KTM and Kawasaki. Adding more fire power they improved the product range in Pulsar Stable (135cc to 400 CC) all these bikes are quite good looking and boast good features (Projector headlights ,powerful engines, comfortable seats,FI setup...)

We will wait and watch HMCL...

EBR closure won't affect HX launch hero still have the technical collaboration from them according to some auto sites. Zmr upgrade will be not only in stickers expect new fairing, wider tyres, meaty front forks and hope for an engine kill switch[emoji12]

It's been a long time since i have posted something about the xtreme. Odo now at 26k and running fine. Getting a mileage of 50-55 kmpl.

Chain & Sprockets were changed at 24k. overgeared using unicorn's 15t but later felt boared and missed the punch and acceleration. So reverted back to 14t. I was getting 56+ kmpl on 15t.

Previous week changed engine oil. Used veedol take off and cleaned the oil strainer screen and centrifugal filter. Look at the dirty strainer

Engine looks clean due to 2k oil drain interval

Yesterday cleaned the carburetor and changed accelerator and choke cables. But somehow missed the spring on afr screw so need to get new screw.

Please tell me what is the secret of getting mileage of 50-55kmpl. I have been using BP petrol or Shell petrol. With BP I get 43kmpl and with Shell I get 45kmpl.
I have done most of the run-in and tips/tricks as put in this forum. However, my CBZ has not got any Carb tuning yet. Am using Veedol/Gulf Engine oils for every 3000kms.
Please advise. From the sense of engine response, I feel my tuning is towards Leaner mixture. But, have good pickup. The spark plug color has Brownish Color with low black which seems to be good. But, not getting mileage. I would like to get at least 45-48kmpl with same pickup/accelaration from CBZ. Please advice.

Not only me so many other members here getting a healthy fuel efficiency. Mileage depends on so many factors ranging from chain slack to riding conditions/technique.
If spark plug is brown not touch afr screw. Ensure chain have 1" slack at the tightest point and lube using 90 grade gear oil. Check tappet adjustment tight tappets cause low mileage. Replace air filter on 8k interval and spark plug at 10-12k Shift at 4k rpm and give throttle smoothly. Keep tyres properly inflated. I am living in a small town here in Kerala so not much of traffic hassle.
This is what i do on my bike. Hope this helps

I have done 15500kms service. Now its 17500kms. Right from owning the bike my mileage is 43kmpl.
Can you please tell me more on chain slack and Tappet Adjustment for more mileage. I am not mileage freak, but would like to keep CBZ in top shape.
I dont rip too much and mostly in Bangalore city driving conditions. My mechanic said the same as to not to tune the AFR.
Also, Whenever I have cold starts I need to raise the throttle couple of times. Use choke for 1-2 mins and then idling is good.
Once bike heats up nicely for 10-15mins, the response is good with smooth exhaust note.
Using Veedol oil. Given first service to HH and after that Unique Bike Service in BSK, BLR.
