Re: Hero Xtreme 2014
Haha yeah, Joy was fun to ride. One can feel the pull of that bike even though it was short rideOriginally posted by sibun View PostOk we will schedule it with some other holiday. Else come on saturday and evening we will open up and next day we will fit back everything.
Change the oil as it has run a lot. And Yes Veedol 10 W 30 API SM oil is the best for extreme. I have found that Veedol makes best oil in business for Hero engines.
And how was the Short ride on my Joy? How did the Joy feel.
And now i am on Whats app. So you can message me on that.
I'll change the oil soon and perhaps 25th would be good. I'll try to reach there by 5.

Re: Hero Xtreme 2014
You can fit double horns and HID kit , but you might have to upgrade battery and get a coil rewinding done . I doubt if a stock battery can take heavy load on longer runs . Check out ebay , there are quite a few sellers from Mumbai. I was searching for projector lights and I noticed a few sellers there.Originally posted by dolphin404 View PostCan i fit double horns and HID kit on my xtreme. Will it affect the life of battery. PLS tell me wher can i get HID kits and horns on MUMBAI/NAVI MUMBAI

Re: Hero Xtreme 2014
I want to change Bike's light to HID. I have seen from earlier post that I have to modify coil connection and connect APR RR to make bike full DC. Output of RR should go to battery directly and light connection should be parallel to battery. My question is when battery is fully charged since I hv placed HID parallel to battery, RR will continue sending current to light that means battery will get current as well to be overcharged. Isn't so?

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hi Friends,Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostHi Sibun,
I did check both the fuse in the box, and also replaced them with spare ones. While refitting the blue(15A) fuse, time got reset. Red(10A) fuse was also fine.
Wiring was checked by the Mech, and I felt that he was not competent enough with bike electricals and was doing hit and trail analysis
Anything else that should be checked?
Should I consult motorcycle electrician or ASC.
Got the fuel meter issue rectified this weekend. Consulted an auto electrician in Karolbagh on Sunday.
He checked all the wiring and fuses, but every thing was fine.
While shorting the connector coming from battery side, fuel meter was showing full reading. So this confirmed that wiring and meter are fine.
Actually the meter takes few minutes to show reading after shorting the connector.
Last time my regular Mech also used the same method to check the wiring but he didn't waited at all after shorting. So, we thought that there is some fault in wiring but we were wrong.
Finally we concluded that fuel gauge sensor is faulty.
Unfortunately, I could not find a genuine fuel sensor unit either in Hero SVC or in Karolbagh Market
So, had to settle with an aftermarket product manufactured by "Suprajit" made for Honda Shine.
Now, the fuel meter is working, but it's showing less reading as compared to the original one. sibun told that it's because the sensor is calibrated for a smaller tank.
Will get this replaced as soon as I will find a genuine sensor unit for Xtreme.
Can anyone tell me the price of original sensor unit?

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Need a help from Hunk owners
Did anybody buy this bike recently ? How is the quality of bike compared to earlier? Is it still the same good quality or is there some cost cutting compromises like Unicorn or any complaints with Hunk?
Im looking for upgrading my bike and Hero Achiever was the best bet for me as its 150cc commuter bike with relaxed riding position but it looks like its difficult to get here in south and the closest 150cc bike is Hunk which has tubeless tyres as well ( good one to have) but Im worried about riding position ( sporty?) and the single gear lever ( prefer Heel and Toe for comfort and avoiding damage to shoes)
Hope its ok to post in this thread and not in What Bike forumDo speed breakers break speed or break backs !!!

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
So today my bike suddenly lost all compression. It started just fine in the morning but shut off suddenly and would not start again. I checked the kick lever and it was very loose. Took it to a mechanic and he put a little engine oil through the hole where the spark plug goes and pumped the kick lever a few times to and compression was restored. Why did my bike lose compression in such a way? And how to restore it in a bike without kick lever?

Its a common problem when bike comes of age. The intake or exhaust tapet valve gets stuck open. Its nothing to worry about. Try to crank the bike furiously using the electric start and after about 8-9 revolutions the bike should come back to life. Also put 2ml 4t oil per litre of fuel in the gas tank every 1000kms or so to prevent this. My bike runs like new after 7years of daily use with this method. And this method is not well known so there will be sceptics and their argument is valid in a way but trust me this info comes from a reliable source.

Oh wow...........Yikes! bro. not even a year old?Originally posted by SJD2342 View PostThing is my hunk isn't even a year old.
you should get the bike checked up at the svc stat. My bike developed the problem after 5 years of use. but sometimes depending on the running of the bike and the number of kms covered bike can develop the problem early.
