• re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk

Hi Friends,
My xtreme has clocked nearly 46 K kms, and both the tyres are still stock MRF ones. I can't see much damage or thread baldness even now, but I have heard that two wheeler tyres should be replaced after 30 K kms.
Can I safely use these tires for some more time?

Thanks Guys for your suggestions.
I'll post the images of both tyres in the evening.
P.S: I have read somewhere in xbhp itself that MRF Zapper hardly wears out

Any tyre will wear out. Info you have is wrong brother. Don't risk your life by riding on such tyres.

Rubber hardens up in 2+ years whether you ride or not! Change it.

Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.

Yeah, Generally it is recommended to change tyre after 3-4 years and hard rubber become more harder with time.

You are right buddy generally normal & soft compound tyres behave well and wear on time, But when you have hard compound tyres it is recommended to check them after 3-4 years, because they may not wear because of hardness but can loose their property with time

The most hard compound I have ever seen and 46K is too much, specially for rear

@pratham- Yes we can transplant a ZMA engine into Extreme, but that requires changes in wiring as the CDI magnets and all are different. There is no need of ZMR engine if you are not going to retain the FI. Infact ZMA engine will do.

The ZMR oil cooler is infact bigger and cools more than P220. And carburettor we have to change as even though ZMA runs smaller jets the carb is 30mm one instead of ours 28 MM.

All in all a lot of money and headache for those who are not so much into technology and bike internals.

And you haven't yet exploited the full potential of Extreme. I have hit a top speed of 122 kph on bike( true speed as the speedo is damn accurate). So you have still lot to play.
I hope its just plug & play job. Because i opened xtreme`s bar end & found some locking kinda notch inside. Will grab them on this Sunday.
Yesterday bunked office(Got bored of office work:P) & did Dombivli-nashik ride(Surprise visit to GF..:*). Also got new lid LS2 FF350 warrior edition(300 sparten sticker) After 2 weeks of hustle, finally she`s back with bang, performed really well. Found some vibes on right hands, initially. Also at starting speed bike feel little bit harsh. But once it reaches 95-100 & come down to 50-60 bike feels smooth no vibes. Reached top whack of 123 km/hr @ 10000 rpms for good 10 secs. Later engine started screaming pulled over. (Courtesy : NH3, smooth 4 lane open road, least traffic with lots of wide corners, slopes) Did 1st 180 kms with 80-95 km/hr while heading towards nashik & return journey with 65 km/hr max. Returned average of 44.3 km/ltr. (315 kms in 500 Rs of fuel) Quit good IMO... Overall fully satisfied.
Bdw sibun you did 120 km/hr with straight seating or by couching over tank?

For 120 section, chain cover adjustment and brake rod bending is required.

just one doubt, can we change tyre by the feedback it gives, i mean going by the grip level it offers if it a very old tyre and still it doesnt worn out.? or simply we have to change it whatever may be the condition of the tyre.?

I had hit 122 kph at 9500 rpm and I was fully crouched. I had also a luggage tied up at back. See I told u you haven't fully exploited the bike. Now a days my bike screaming a lot after 6k rpm. The note deepens and intake roar increases a lot after 6k rpm. Will service bike next Sunday near my mechanic.

Dear All,

Need few inputs from Hunk owners.

Is the bike comfortable for long daily rides (100 Kms in empty city roads) ?

What would be the mileage if ridden at 50-60KMPL. ?

Cheers,

Just want to edit if you are on 80-90 constant its good and mileage will be some where 40-45 (don't play with throttle) and if you will carry her 70-80 then she will fly flawlessly even for 800kms in a day, I did that and mileage was 45-50 on highway with little traffic in small cities...

A constant 100 is ok for short 100 kms though

In my opinion being a hard compound tyre its not possible (less worn out+good grip).

Bro listen don't take risk just change the tyre if its worn out or older than 3 year, simple
