A few things,

1) The handlebar moves back and forth when I try moving it when the bike is stationary. Fellow members mentioned some rubber part that needs to be changed.

Tighten it before the grooves grind off.

2) When I play the front suspension, it doesn't feel smooth. I hear some creaking noise.

Change suspension fluid and seals.

3) I think the Coneset needs to be changed finally.

Change it.

4) There is a lot of tappet noise. It is usually not audible under the helmet, but once I remove the helmet, the bike sounds very bad after a spirited ride. Tappets are set at 0.06 and 0.08/0.10. Either this is tappet noise or the cam chain gone kaput.

Ride at 60ish and close throttle without disengaging the clutch, if you hear engine clatter then change the timing chain tensioner.
Caution : The drive chain noise can also confuse you.

5) Bike feels rough in general and bike feels noisy.

Change all the consumables, grease all the bearings and joints and finally see to it that both chains are tightened.

8) Bike turns off on slight throttle.

Ensure that the Air Filter isnt clogged, if so replace. And 30k would be a decent time to get the carb cleaned.

9) Regarding the timing. The cam sprocket doesn't align perfectly parallel to the head when I adjusted tappets. It seemed to be the slightest bit off the mark. Is this a cause for concern?

10) It's been close to 4 years since I bought the bike. Is it about time I changed the rubber?

If its going hard then by all means change it.

I'd like every issue to be fixed. I'd really appreciate some detailed answers.

Also, anything else that needs to be checked up at 33200km? Daily commute is ~35km in peak hour traffic.

Thanks guys.

thanks Pinaki. will do.

Guys a strange thing is happening in my bike.

in first gear if we leave the clutch slowly bike will show some move and then further it will shut down. but on contrary in my bike if i leave clutch further it starts moving and on fully leaving the clutch it goes steadily at 4kmph. in short i can launch my bike just like car.

This is not even possible in torque monsters ZMR or REs....is it something wrong in my bike.?

Happens, my ZMA crawls if the bike is properly warmed up and the clutch is released slowly, but with the D100, the bike would start moving if the clutch is released, more effortlessly than the ZMA and if released abruptly the bike would jerk hard and come to a stop.

Going by Dilip Bams formulae(stroke/bore) I would say that my D100 has more LET than my ZMA.

so its normal it seems...!! btw i like it this way...in the middle of traffic i shift to 2nd gear and will leave the accelerator, it will continue to go on at 8kmph with good pull..

Note: my idle rpm at hot is 1400.

• require suggestion for adjusting mileage of heo honda hunk

Hello,
I have got hero honda hunk since 2.5 to 3 years. I have regularly maintained my bike by following steps,
I change the engine oil every 2000 kms maximum.
Every service of the company has been used and subsequent to that , i have taken external source services for my bike. I always ride my bike very economically.
I have changed my spark plug at 32000 kms. I have also replaced a new exide battery. 2 months prior my bike was giving 50 kmpl mileage . But at that time I got my bike serviced by a mechanic he has altered my bike's mileage without asking me. After that my bike is giving 43 to 44 kmpl mileage. Is there any option for me to regain my bike's mileage? please do suggest any mechanic or any other alternative.

Please do suggest what should I do?

Hi Friends,

Yesterday, got the rear tyre of my xtreme replaced with MRF MOGRIP METEOR TL one.
Previous one was the stock MRF Zapper TL, which lasted for 46K Kms!

The shop is located in Karolbagh, who is authorized MRF and Michelin retailer.(Thanks to tusharxtreme for sharing the address).

is there any deference between carburtors of CBZ Xtreme and Honda CB Unicorn?

If no, then can i use Unicorn's in my Xtreme?

my xtreme's cold idle is 1100rpm and hot 1400 or 1500rpm.

idle is not stable. i have to adgust idle everytime.

when hot it's more unstable and sometime it lower down to 1000rpm for 1-2 seconds and again gone to 1400, also sometime it leads to engine off.

Valves and Valve Guide replaced 3 days ago. still it's not stable.

whats problem?

what is the below thing and it's function?

Bro can you show us pics of your spark plug. There are many reasons for uneven varying idle rpm issue.
1. Check whether your throttle/accelerator cable is jammed or not. Get it adjusted, replaced if required
2. Have you opened carb for cleaning, because if do then choke cable need to be adjusted properly.
3. Have you messed with carburetor setting by yourself?
If your rpm is varying by some +-100 then its normal, manual itself re-commands 1500+-100. Mine is 1000 at cold start & rock steady at 1250 when hot with slight variation of 100+-
We cannot use carb of unicorn on xtreme as the jet size are different. Xtreme is made for power & unicorn for mileage.
Carb is same for all CBZ xtreme/ Xtreme(1st gen 2008-2010), (2nd gen 2011-2013) & current gen.
Do check above point & revert back.

1.throttle cable replaced 2 months ago.
2. i never opened carburetor on my own, but local mechanic opened it for cleaning in front of me.
3. never try to set carburetor myself, but only set idle with idle screw.

my bike's mileage is 48-52 KMPL constantly.
but pickup varies a lot, sometimes it varies when i running my bike.

Also AFR screw was replaced twice.

my bike rpm variation 100+- constant, but major variation is 5-7 times in a minute.

also when running my bike if i apply sharp front disc brake it also down direct to 1000rpm and then gained to 1400.

also bike not running and when apply front disc brake and push bike forward it goes direct down 1100rpm and then gain to 1400.

i think air is leaking from somewhere, that's why i put a pic to know what's the thing.

From what you state its sure you are facing what its called as vaccum leak. Means air is leaking in somewhere between carb and intake manifold. This will cause rpm to flutter a lot and by slight opening of throttle it would switch off. Solution i found is find the leak anyhow.

Start your bike, use ear and a piece of paper to find the leak. It wont be easy, but it can be found out by using a unlit butane torch, the gas will cause rpm to rise and leak source can be found out.

If you feel you can follow what i did for my xtreme, get carb insulator. Since yours is Uni get from Honda showroom only. Dont fit of Hero. While putting back the new insulator apply silicone sealant to both plain face side and another carb side ( you will understand this once you see insulator)
Then after you fit apply a slight sealant layer on carb lips and push carb in. Check for tubes going in carb and manifold, they might look ok but if you bend it it will show cracks if that happens then replace them too. After fitting all let bike alone for 30-40mins to allow sealant to dry, then start and feel the difference.
Carb Tuning made easy (Thanks Sibun !)
