Hi Pinaki da,
Odo 8666 kms. Valve & rocker arms replaced last week.
It seems like my bike problem is still with her. No tappet noise in cold engine but tappet noise after engine get hot in 4-5 kms(Seems like mech kept tappet loose). Also bike runs good upto 60-70 km/hr but after that it starts behaving like no petrol, giving jerks in between also feels like struggling to attain speed (This was never before, as i tuned my ride as per sibun`s recommendation & throttle response was sharp, crisp. Lost that pull of extreme as it was before) What could be the reason..? Filter clogged, spark plug gap? Do they need replacement?
Also head is leaking from front.

Check your tappet adjustment. This happened to me when the tappets were too tight.

Apart from that, check if the air intake is blocked by anything. I have also had this happen to me. :P

Head oil leakage, try using a new rubber gasket with some sealant. I had the same problem before and the sealant solved it completely.

1) take care of those oil creeps - just a matter of few o-rings , gaskets and a tube of rtv-sealant maybe . I think you can get this done by the hero ASC itself . 2) get tappet adjusted correctly from a guy that knows the use of a feeler gauge , or DIY . 3) replace the spark plug , plug cap and air-filter if in doubt - they are not expensive .

the leaking of the oil itself sounds sometimes like loose tappets, i had the same tappet like sound when even after adjusting the tappets, the sound persisted, but the culprit was oil leakage from the head, after i got new seal the sound just vanished...

Bro if tappets are too tight then it wont make that signature sound for which hunk, xtreme, karizma famous for. It seems to be loose.

Pinaki da, which gap is to follow? 0.06 & 0.1 or 0.08 & 0.12. Also What is difference between this two settings & how it affects performance of bike? Also if i adjust tappets with this gap will it still make loud sound like its making now? Because before replacement job it was very minimal even if i ride for 200kms+ at 80-90 km/hr.
During 4th free service they said they cleaned air filter. I highly doubt about them. I had already change plug cap. They said filter & spark plug don`t need replacement as its just 8500 kms on odo. Where as manual suggest replacement at interval of 10000 kms, earlier if bike runs in dusty area. Also spark plug can run up to 25000 kms..input from same mechanic. Do i need to clean carburetor also..?

Bro that strain of leakage was there before bike serviced, but in very less extent. But after replacement of rocker arm etc, that seems to be increased a bit. How head leakage in related to tappet noise as leakage thing happened just yesterday only where tappet noise started creeping from the day i took bike from service center within 6-7 kms of ride.

Hello bro,
As you know about my bike`s problem, today i visited ASC as my bike was not running well after valve & rocker arm replacement(poor pick up, when ridden above 75 km/hr no petrol effect or misfire kinda of thing was happening.
After test ride supervisor said bike was not getting spark etc etc.
Replaced head gasket, O rings of side round window.
At SVC they 1st changed magnet coil did test ride...still same thing was happening when ridden 75 km/hr.
2nd time changed CDI unit did test ride...still same thing was happening when ridden 75 km/hr.
3rd time changed carburetor did test ride...now mis firing thing was gone but bike was not going above 86 km/hr stucked at 7500 rpm not going above than that.
At last i asked them to change filter, spark plug & another mechanic listened bike`s firing was not good. He opened head cover & then rotated timing chain wheel, did some setting.
VOILAAAAAAAAAAAA
After that bike`s that punchy pick up was back. Carb was tuned to your setting 1.65 turns. Did test ride with Mechanic who did all the stuff, bike hitted 86 km/hr. He dint pushed further due to traffic.
Will my bike hit 115 km/hr after this as i haven`t ridden bike in solo ride.
Spark plug i got from CPR6E, where as original was CPR8E. Could this be reason for lack of speed.
Kindly suggest further thing that i should do, follow.
Quoting from your personal message to me so that other members can learn.

What that mechanic who had worked on your bike previously did was set the timing wrong while fitting the timing chain back. I do not know who is that idiot who had given him to work on head when that bugger do not know how to set timing. What he did was he advance the timing from timing sprocket as a result your bike was feeling like running rich.

Thank god you did not end up with a seized engine. Timing is an important factor in four stroke engine as one teeth from its ideal position of timing sprocket bike will misfire. But the misfire from timing can be known easily by riding.

It was good that you took your bike to ASC as we couldn't know timing was wrong from outside. Although i could have known but after doing a series of experiments.

From 2nd november i learned a lot about xtreme(Courtesy: Damaged rocker arms, valve) So that would help me in future in case of any trouble. But now main question, how can i know that my bike is fine even after he adjusted timing chain. There is no misfiring kind of thing. Also when i raised my rpm, it comes down slowly. Will it be correct..?
Also if anyone here from Kalyan dombivli(Mumbai suburbs) region, please avoid Aher auto service center at Dombivli, Anand fast track at Vithalwadi. Please do get your bike serviced at Aher`s main dealer at Kalyan west. They are having good bunch of mechanics along with sufficient inventory of spare items as compared to other two.

While riding home i was happy to see bike revving up, running good, but soon after reaching home i become so depressed that now i dint even have courage to ride my bike as still worried, is she fine now as previous..? (Just a mental dilemma i am going through )

Some one said very rightly, we get good bike from company, but this service center people ruins them.

K&N total waste of money and time + a screwed engine and a dirty carb

I am unsure how can one mess up the basis of four stroke engine : the timing . Get timing wrong and @sibun said it you are lucky to have working engine . Most of them end with completely seized ones .Timing is like juggling for engine and it works in complete harmony , retard or advance single teeth and it will create headache like none. To check whether timing is correct

1. Open crack inspection cover , #6 allen one
2. Open head cover .
3. Slowly rotate wheel in 5th gear , ( remove spark plug before) to overcome compression

When notch in inspection window and T mark align, cam sprocket will be parallel to head surface. You can see tappet adjustment thread , you will get the idea of how it will look.

RPM coming down slowly can be due to lean mixture , but first mention what are your hot & cold rpms and mileage . Dont tinker with AFR unnecessarily , as it gives lot of headache and AFR is something that takes lot of experience to set it proper.

CPR6E is a hotter plug and can cause knocking due to high heat . Get CPR8EA9 from svc itself .

When you guys say about 1 turn of the screw, is it one complete (360 degree) rotation of the screw or just 180 degree?

Between, a bike hit from the back on my Hunk, while stopping in a signal. Tail light and rear fender reflector damaged.
Got the tail light (normal type, not LED) OE from Hero showroom for Rs.220. Still searching for reflector. It is the same part from the Splendor rear fender.
Just enquired about Hunk/Xtreme GRS rear shocks, they say it costs 4k for a pair!
Asked about the old Xtreme's oil filled shocks, was informed they're not available anymore.

Decided to ride by bike to office today. RPM was around 1900-2000 when bike started in the morning. But no oil leak below bike in morning. Was so happy that now bike is like new. But my happiness vanished within 25 kms. Problem still continued. Bike ran well on highway, but still missing the pull power that i got previously when tuned with SIBUN`s recommendation. AFR is lean i guess because rpm is fluctuating between 1500 to 1000 rpm & Leakage from left side crank side, when stopped at signal. Called customer relationship manager, told this problem. He said that might be due to chain oil sprayed and i was like WTF..:O
Now really fed up of this Fu**ing morons of hero ASC. Will be kicking there Asses. Will had direct word with GM of Aher Auto.
From the past 2 week what i do in office is reading all old post of Sibun for various problem`s solution. No office work..:P I know solutions for all but really feels like biting ASC folks. Every time what they do fixes one problem & create another problem. SatSon
