re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Dear All
I own Hero Hunk which has clocked 9600kms till now. Everything is top notch about the bike except for the vibrations.
Vibration starts as soon as it touches 4k rpm (whole body vibrates)
Vibration reduces at 7k rpm.
Still when i want to cruise at speeds of around 60-70 kmph, there are very irritating vibrations.
My tappets, carb and tire pressure is ok.
Since its a new bike i thought vibrations will reduce to minimum but it did not even after clocking 9600 kms.
Please suggest me what shall i do to remove this irritating vibrations.

You can check your chain slack and adjust if needed. Also, cleaning and lubing chain properly helps reducing vibes.Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostDear All

added to what SatSon explained, also check engine oil quantity and air pressure.Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostDear All

lubing the chain will solve in most cases. i apply grease which works fine for me.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Its normal. Mine is nearing 14k and still vibes if driven under 60 for long time. Drive it in high revs for 5-6kms or so means above 90 and it will burn off carbon from piston valve and catcon. Dont pull hard in 3rd gear, go to 8k in 4th then shift.Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostDear All

I assume your tappets are set correctly, improper setting causes vibes.
As members said check pressure and chain lubrication and slack. Use veedol 10w30. I found vibes minimal in this oil.

I guess its characteristics of this core2 series engines. In morning if i warn her properly & ride her like run in period for 1st 5-10 kms, she will be smooth for all the day.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostIts normal. Also this engines tends vibrates a lot in 4000 to 5000 rpm band. But when we ride her for 8000+ rpm or 100 km/hr for few 10 kms & then come back to 4000-5000 band, engine feels smoother.
Dont know what we can say about this stuffs...

Chain slack is also adjusted as recommended. Chain is lubed and cleaned properly.Originally posted by SatSon View PostYou can check your chain slack and adjust if needed. Also, cleaning and lubing chain properly helps reducing vibes.

In fact i have tried and done everything, failed and finally posted here :P
Engine oil quanity is up to the level
My tappets are always adjusted as per recommended setting using feeler gauge.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostIts normal. Mine is nearing 14k and still vibes if driven under 60 for long time. For reducing vibes i have poured Motul 300V recently but no result.
My problem is being a honda engine and also being a Hero Bike why shall this bike have such kind of irritating vibration....Except for this I really love this bike but on longer journey due to heavy handlebar vibration my hands become numb.
See, trigger/fz/pulsar all has minimum or no vibration compared to Hunk. So, there must be a way to remove these vibrations.
If i could get myself accustomed to these kinds of vibration then i would have bought Apache.
So need all of yours expert opinion.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Do you checked engine mounting bolts and rubber dampers here and there? also check front wheel allignment and bend alloys. Try to tight the screws and bolts at the places that vibrate. Try to rev the engine above 6k for some time and then gradually decrease speed then check for vibes.Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostChain slack is also adjusted as recommended. I always tighten engine mounting bolts in every service.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostDo you checked engine mounting bolts and rubber dampers here and there? also check front wheel allignment and bend alloys. Rubber dampers? where are they?
Never checked front wheel alignment coz i never hit any obstacles hard till now
The handebar, Petrol tank and footpegs vibrates the most, so which screw shall i tighten the most?

Reading this i think vibs are producing by the engine. Does proper running in is followed?Originally posted by ShahriarXtreme View PostI always tighten engine mounting bolts in every service.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
My mighty Hunk is going to complete 20K this month. Its 2.5yrs old.
Performance is awesome till now.
I changed only rear brake pad (its a drum brake), clutch and throttle cable, spark plug and air filter. Also changed to Osram Nightbreaker for better illumination in night. Nothing else.
I am getting continuously 45kmpl in mixed riding. I ride mostly at higher rpm >6k in highway.
Please suggest if I need to look in any specific area in next service since its touching 20K km.
I am also planning to have Bosch twin spark plug. I hv hard that it increases engine temp. is it true? Any experience with this type of spark plug in Hunk?
---- Any one ? Any one?? Need suggestion as I am going to service bike this Saturday.

Its good to change Spark plug and airfilter every 10k kms.
Check the front forks, if they lost the dampening/smoothness or leaking oil. 20k kms is good enough for fork oil change.
Also, suggest carb cleaning if not done recently. Clean and lube chain/sprockets.
Check oil level in front disc master cylinder, change if needed, also check for front brake pads' wear.

I have followed run in period for 5000 KMS and gradually increased RPM limit per 1000 kms.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostReading this i think vibs are producing by the engine. Does proper running in is followed?
I have test driven other hero hunks and they have all felt the same.

Air filter should be replaced after every 8-10K kms for best results.Originally posted by sovondev View PostPlease suggest if I need to look in any specific area in next service since its touching 20K km.

If you are considering to replace spark plug, then try NGK G-power. Once fitted, it does not require any cleaning.
I'd used Bosch Twin electrode plug in my xtreme, but could not observe any improvement in cold start or pickup as such, so reverted to GPower.

Thanks for your suggestion. Regarding brake oil, I could not able to see any oil level from the transparent window, so guess its full. Also its clear like water. So it should be good.Originally posted by SatSon View PostCouple of suggestions from my end.

Which oil is recommended for Hunk as fork oil?
One thing I noticed irrespective of old or new engine oil, engine becomes very harsh while driving in back to back traffic for a considerable time period. Then when bike gets some breathing time like more than 2 hrs or so, and if I drive in a highway, its again smooth. is this normal for Hunk?

Thanks for your suggestion. Please let me know the price of this spark plug.Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostAir filter should be replaced after every 8-10K kms for best results.
