re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Few things I have done recently with my bike its completed 27K in 3.5 years
1. Cone set greased from inside and bearing balls changed to new.
2. Both front fork aligned as with time passes and because of the bumps those gets dis-align, fork oil changed as the dip of form was getting more and feeling very soft.
3. Tappets adjusted, swing arm nut greasing done, both alloys aligned.KTM RC390 - Current

lot of noise as if engine is at its peak and cant be accelerated more.
lot of vibration felt in all bike including handle tank and footpegs.
when filled petrol 1 litre (reserve to reserve) and tried for top speed for say 1 km, mileage drops to 20-25.
did top speed test keeping Pulsar150 and R15 parallel (asked them to not to overtake me
) both said its 90-95kmph.
plug chop after speed test shown like full fuel is burning properly, no white or black residue.
please let me know if more details are needed.
Thanks

Try checking at what RPM your bike is doing 60kmph and let us know.Originally posted by powerShift View PostThanks @sibun and @ashwin.terminator for prompt reply.

When was the last time plug and airfilter changed?
Do you check oil level regularly, do you see any drop in oil level?

air filter and spark plug are about 1K Kms old.
oil level drops about a cm in 500 kms of use.

By some reason if you dont want to ride and to courier it, you can always do it by luxury buses and railways.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I'm curious to know, can the results of an emission test be any indicator of how efficient an engine is?
I know that these tests aren't really taken in a very consistent manner across the country, but I felt it would give some insight on how well the fuel is being burnt.
Here are the results of my emission test

Are you sure it is 1 cm per 500km?Originally posted by powerShift View Postwill let you know RPM soon

Because the cross marked section of dipstick itself is not longer than 2 cm I believe.
Do you see oil/black oily deposits on the exhaust tip?

Exactly what I expected. I was thinking which bike you would probably took to at the time of trip to Leh. And i thought most probably you would take your Joy because of such incredible trust & love you have with your bike.Originally posted by sibun View PostThanks for updating on road condition. And thanks for the link to the trip log, will go through the trip log in evening as i never miss any trip log on LEH. Ya will do it for sure as it is the mecca of bikers. But i will not do it on the extreme, but on my Joy as i know that Joy will remain with me till i close my eyes forever. And more-over Joy is more suited for LEH as its huge low end torque along with the sturdy build quality is excellent. A trip that i will cherish for life-time. shoeb2015- will you accompany me for the trip when i plan? "EK SE BHALE DO".
I wish if I could also accompany you if you authorize.
I already had a plan way long back getting to Leh when I saw a tv program on Nat Geo when a foreigner went to khardunga la on scorpio. And wen I saw, got inspired of it and the view of that place pleased so much that I thought of getting into leh the same day. I was newly joined xbhp that time.
And also the trust on my bike went into very high level when my bike saved my life because of its build quality at an incident (which I wrote on splendor thread quite time ago).
These bikes really have amazing built quality that one can also drive abroad.
OT: one thing I have always been thinking but I have never asked you. So I thought its better to ask.
As far as I remember, you mentioned two incident werein the level of the engine oil on your extream depleted to very low of 100~200ml approximately.
I have been thinking, your bike didn't smoke at all then where did such large quantity of engine oil gone/leaked or burnt??| SOL 68s | Rynox Tornado Pro | Rynox Advento | Cramster TRG2 | Scoyco MC20 | Hero 5 and SJ6 |

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
The exact information that i wanted. That means your engine is loosing compression and thus loosing out on torque. So that means your engine is on its overhauling stage. Open the bore and check the bore. Check the bore for wear and and marks. If bore is ok with no wear which you can check on the top of bore as there will be groove as rings do not come till top. If there is no wear, then check the rings tension as due to low friction rings are thin and leak compression quicker than say a splendor. If bore is ok, then change the rings to standard rings. But if bore is worn then change the bore kit. Also change the timing chain and the timing pads. Also check the rocker arms and if it has play change that also. If going for new bore, change the clutch plates as new bore will produce more torque and will screw the old plates. When changing plates change to OE CBZ extreme and not unicorn. Do all these and bike will fly.Originally posted by powerShift View Postwill let you know RPM soonair filter and spark plug are about 1K Kms old.oil level drops about a cm in 500 kms of use.----consecutive posts auto-merged-----Best way is to Ride it.By some reason if you dont want to ride and to courier it, you can always do it by luxury buses and railways.Yes the emission test is an indication of how efficient the engine is. The results are good. My Joy without catcon posts similar results with CO2 at 0.80% and oxygen at 18.1%. Haven't tested the extreme.Originally posted by ashwin.terminator View PostI'm curious to know, can the results of an emission test be any indicator of how efficient an engine is?I know that these tests aren't really taken in a very consistent manner across the country, but I felt it would give some insight on how well the fuel is being burnt. Here are the results of my emission test:Ya it was and always will be my Joy. Also i think it will be first bike with over 4 lacs on ODO at LEH. Come on man you are like my younger brother. You are asking permission to accompany me!. Younger brothers do not ask but they demand their rights. Haq se maango yaar. Like VIN DIESEL has said in F&F " There is always place for family". Similarly do not ask me just say me and i am ready to accompany you. In fact when i said it to shoeb2015 you were in my mind. There is and was never any bike other than Joy which i ever thought of taking to LEH.No only ones extreme oil was consumed to 100~200 ml and that was the first and last time as i immediately opened the bore to check the problem. I am always a believer of " A stitch in time saves nine". So i opened the bore immediately and that saved the bore and only oil rings were replaced. Yes bike did smoke but in very small amount and the smoke was less because of Catcon unlike in our bikes like pre 2010 model splendors and joy where there is no catcon and thus any smoke comes out unhindered. I didn't see that as most of the time my bike is at high rpm and thus burnt the oil quickly and since i was at high speed i didn't look back to check smoke.Originally posted by paul.1911 View PostExactly what I expected.
