No , yahama SC sells it (relabeled) as yamalube ( but the sales guy wouldn't spell it out ) , but it's motul manufactured alright . But it is of a different API & JASO rating & was priced 20bucks more . I was using the yamalube 20w40 mineral API SL , Jaso MA while the motul 30004t plus is rated API SM and jaso MA2 . Maybe the non-plus motul variant or maybe special order ... I dunno for sure . Performance-wise .. just as good . See my post here in engine oils thread for pics ..... http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/629271-post3663.html

You are right I think .. it's mineral only . Also Synthetic blend .. with synthetic technology ... Technosynthetic .. etc etc are just play of words by the marketing boys , @ 200bucks ...ignore it !

They are both super performing oils in mineral in this grade , compared to the HP racer4 I had used just before on the crux . Difference is very subtle ( could be even just in my mind ) . The gulf 20w40 is smoother (for gearshifts and overall) throughout it's life but it becomes spent ( again by my gut feeling of the engine ) around 1700kms summer heat & stop-n-go riding . The motul is just a bit less smoothy feeling but a bit cooler ( it's a bit thicker to pour ) and keeps the same good engine feel untill about 2000kms . Take your pick , I am finicky old guy ,I doubt you'll even notice any difference .Remember that motul 3000 4t & motul 30004t plus are different oils ( both in 20w40 though ) and I have only tried the plus .
Thank you guyz for the nice reviews...

@pinaki(it is also a missile similar to nag in indian army)
1)WHich motul mineral you have used motul 3000 4t or motul 3000 4t plus and what is its price?

2)both the observations are in summer, right?

        3) given a chance what you will pick?

        • Yes kinda .. the shiva's missile .. his trident is named pinak .
          1) motul 3000 4t plus .. 200 Rs .. 1 lit . Gulf 20w40 is same .
          2) summer & monsoon mainly .
          3) any , there is a scratch card discount on the gulf last I checked at the shop so I'd take that .

See...what I told you is clear now...If they don't scare you, they can't keep you in their grip...

lol so true...once i asked this same mech to clean the centrifuge filter and he refused saying opening that will change the timing .
The centrifugal filter is on the clutch side and rotates with the engine at high RPM and filters by centrifugal action...

also can you please throw some light on oil consumption in cbz xtreme? if i pour 900ml and drive it for say 1500kms the oil level should not change right? or is it normal for the engine to consume 100-200ml of oil ? the reason i ask is i am gonna measure the oil when i drain it next time.
If you use useless HH 10w30 there will be consumption of 100 to 300 ml depending on your driving style....I am using Gulf pride 20w40 and after nearly 1,000Kms there is no drop so far...

One more question...should i clean the centrifuge filter after this valve stem incident(the top portion of the piston was all black) just to be safe?
.Not neccessary.....if you had completed more than 35 K Kms then you can do it.
will wait for your reply .

                    • Hell lot of discussions over engine oil..Are you guys having SemiSynth Oil for breakfast, lunch and dinner..?? (Kidding)

Did a highway trip today. Just 90kms @ 70+/-5 kmph mostly. Vibrations are creeping in at 65-75 (esp. through the foot peg) but smoothens out above 80.

Mileage over the last 250 kms - 43.33
Noticeable improvement from previous 39 (Before 1st service)

also i cleaned the CF filter at 20000kms only so will wait for some more kms to clean it .

10W30 oil is thinner than 20W40 oil.performance will be good for both 10W30 and 20W40 oils.may be a slight difference ,its unnoticeable.Vibration will be high in 10W30 oil.vibration will be less in 20W40 oil. Smoothness, engine protection and cooling will be high in 20W40 oil.

I think you are wrong by small margin.

less viscosity = less friction = thus easy movement of parts in engine = better cooling = wide brand smoothness = less vibration in 10W30 for beng a thinner oil.

I wouldn't recommend to use 10W30 oil for bike that is under 1000KM.

bro less viscosity = more friction and uneasy movement of parts.
if it would less viscosity = less friction then whats the need of engine oil????
actually oil sticks to the walls of moving parts results in better siding over one another so the friction is less.
regarding better cooling thick oil heats up slowly and loose their viscosity less than thin oil so they provides better lubrication even in heated atmosphere thus improving engine life.
