some ppl saying,
Dont use 20w40 because its a heavy oil so may be you got the tapped problems after pouring 20w40.
any idea?

Day was surprisingly dry, took the bike out for a spin, ended up riding 75 kms in the ghats, just to have a tea and banana fry.
It was really awesome. Am getting used to taking hairpins, but still ends up at 25-30 kmph max around corners.
On the way back, a cobra scared the hell outta me. A huge snake, stretching all the way upto the middle of the road, lying flat across. At first I thought it to be some twig or a branch ( which is quite common as the road lies within protected forest area), but as I came close, the 'twig' raised its head and spread its hood. Gosh.. I still donno how I came to a stop, but I did. Just a few meters from the animal. I've never been this close to a snake and this scared. I sounded the horn, but then I remembered 'Snakes have no ears'
Then I tried racing the engine. That worked. The snake was noticeably startled and scared, and disappeared into the bushes. Thank God.

Good suggestionsOriginally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostGet 20W40 oils from Motul or Gulf. Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 ,225rs/ltr. Motul 3000 4T Plus 20w40 450/Ltr.Both tried and tested.
, but it depends on your riding conditions . If the street temperatures exceeds 30C better go for 20w40 , if it mostly stays below 30C where you live stick to any good 10w30 . There is no problem in shifting between these to grades from summer to winter too . The 20w40 is also recommended for high-mileage engines , say those have run more than 50k kms on same bore .
Also note that here in kolkata : Gulf pride 4t 20w40 is about 200 Rs & Motul 3000 4T Plus is also 200 Rs only per liter . Most other mineral oils are around this price only . I have just purchased that same motul a few weeks back .

what i know is, herohonda recommends10W 30 for CBZ/Hunk which is thinner and the inner pump is made to work with that thin oil. Anything thicker than the10W 30 oil creates extra pressure results in uneven cooling of the engine. This is what i learned from my mech....Originally posted by akatl View Postsome ppl saying,

Today did a short 160+kms trip after a long time. Found strange thing that, above 7K RPM my hunk gives little vibe! Also takes little longer than before to reach triple digit. Speed. Bike is 15K Kms old.
Is it time to change the clutch plate? Or is it just because i didn't run it for long? Any idea guys?Last edited by iamhsn; 06-11-2011, 03:24 AM.Best ever ride: Dhaka-Cox's Bazar-Bandarban-Cox's Bazar-Dhaka 1500Kms.
