i didnt change it.i opened my tail light assembly and removed the tiny bulb for my number plate (5W i guess). instead of that i put an LED strip of 6 LED's (i bout for 20 odd bucks).as u would see there is a slightly curvy shape (like "V"),so i put 3 in left and 3 in right so that even light falls on number plate. it looks pretty sharp/clear in nights (saves few Watts of power too ).
Same thing done with front parking lamp, but i wont suggest u that part coz that is slightly difficult.
and yes connect 2 wires from the LED strip to the tail light SOCKET (white color connector box,in the right side of ur TOOL BOX(beneath ur rear seat).
u will see 6/8 ports on that, connect those 2 wires to TOP RIGHT and BOTTOM RIGHT,that would make it parking light dependent.check it to confirm it
If u wana add some xtra brake lights,i guess its Top Left And Bottom Left pins (check for the same while Brakes pressed ).

            Hope this helps.
Revert me if any help required

              • Harsh Engine after 3.5K RPM ?

hi Guys, recently have bought CBZ Xtreme Red on oct 12th. Till now have completed 950 KMS. First service is over.

I like all the aspects of the bike except of the engine becoming very harsh after 3.5 K RPM. i.e once the bike crosses 3.5K RPM, the vibrations sets in the foot pegs and the handle bar. The vibs are similar to wat we get when the splendour is taken to speeds above 60 KMPH. Is that common in CBZ ? or it is something which I have to check in my bike alone ?

u will have to open these 3 bolts marked in Circle around them.and pull from the back side outwards.also open that contactor switch right side of ur tool box.or else i will have to upload the video .its not a big deal.

I have a query regarding CBZ extreme. I have replaced rear spring arm suspension to Pulsar nitrox then replaced it to a 2nd hand hunk grs.
                    1. Can any owner tell me effectiveness of Hunk or CBZ grs? Can it be repaired and made smooth?
                    2. Can The sitting of Old CBZ extreme changed, means cushioning? I am 6.2 and has some back pain.
Note:- bike is running on NGK platinum spark plug and Synthetic oil(10w30sj of honda CBR). I feel grs is waybetter than stock spring arm in red.

When/How many times the ENGINE OIL is changed?? if u did change ur oil during first service only, i recommend u to change it ASAP. Cant always trust on engine oil being used by SVC . U must be feeling HARSH/HOT engine i guess .

First of all,Engine heating and vibrations are common for all new bikes. So dont worry on it,When did you changed the oil last time,You had mentioned that you had done first service,When? Also at what speeds are you driving now?

                          • First service for the second time

As i was not happy with the 1st service done at svc, today took my bike to known local mech.1260 on odo.following works were done.
*Completely stripped the fibre parts and washed bike.
*oil strainer and centrifugal filters were cleaned.found minute metal pieces in strainer and metal powder inside centrifugal filter.
*xtreme crank case gasket was not availabe so used the unicorn's gasket.perfect fit as the engine design remains same in both the bikes.
*chain was cleaned with diesel and then it was lubed with both oil and grease.
                            *air filter cleaning.
*rear wheel was removed and sprocket bearing was cleaned and lubed.
                            *used castrol power1 15w40 oil.
*now i'm completely satisfied as all these works were carried_out in my presence.totally costed me 700 bucks.including oil, gasket, service charge.
Didnt notice any major difference as of now.gear shift is still on harder side.

                              Hi Aneesh,

I have read some advices on this thread regarding oil changes which i really found very weired.. some recommending oil changes after just 70 to 150 kms.... is it really that necessary..
i have changed oil in my zmr only on service dates and never found any problem... it would be great of you can just put a rough oil change intreval on this thread to which new members can refer.....
i believe that the bike manufactures have more knowledge then us at least on service intervals and oil change....

Please correct if i am wrong..

I have serviced my bike at 680 KMS on the ODO. I am riding between 40 - 50 KMPH at 5th gear. Occasional bursts to 60 in the top gear. But it is ok for the new engine but even now at the end of break in I am getting the vibes which is bothering me.
