Will check that also pretty soon. I think i should go for SVC as soon as i reach my office on Monday.Originally posted by psr View PostPour a little of the petrol on to a white paper and also on a clean Stainless steel plate...see what happens when petrol evaporates..if there are any residue which does not evaporate or yellowish deposit left over...you have adulteration..see if the petrol in bottle is pinkish Red or Yellowish Red..
Color was ok for me, having a little residue after evaporation.
Check your plug color and condition.sigpic

Not much problem from a little loose tappets , other than a minor tik tik noise .Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View PostI m not that much aware about tappets, what are the consequences of tappets loosening ??
yesterday it didnt start for an hour or so,i was tired of trying again and again, did all possible things,CHOKE ON,IDLE RPM increased.it behaved as if there is no fuel in it.Kept giving ghar-ghar sound on self starts.
One more thing i rode for 150 km's few days back with lot of dust, can that cause a problem for my carb as my airfilter was dirty (which i cleaned somehow ). isnt it supposed to cause some sludge in my carburetor ??
So how did it finally start up ? When you applied choke ?
Also operate the choke a few times and confirm it is not getting stuck somehow . You can apply a blast of wd-40 to the lever etc too .
Yups . And restrict acceleration .Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostBut an over tight tappet can cause starting trouble, right?
No , not from dusty roads .. I have to ride village kuttcha roads weekly . No problems .Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View Postyes aneesh, its off. RPM needle is oscilatting and finally stalling slowly slowly no matter how high i set its IDLE RPM. can there be any sludge in Carbeurator as i came from a dusty road few days back.that should be the only reason i suspect from my knowledge
Yes , adultratred fuel can cause various such problems , depending on exactly what the guy used to adulterate the petrolOriginally posted by itssaurabh.negi View Post
I guess u got the point. i had filled from a NOT A GOOD KNOWN petrol pump few days back(as other ones were closed due to diwali's celebration). This might be the case. BTW how would a adulterated fuel would cause such an effect
. i hope this is the reason behind all this.
i feel as if something is blocking Air/fuel flow to my engine and finally stalling it if throttle not given.
.
I also feel the same thing .. something is making your AFR too lean to sustain the engine .

, choke was not applied at all .

Ok will try it, wats dat WD-40 ?? if choke is the culprit will it stuck or it will be free ??

WD-40 fulfills five basic functions:Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View Postwats dat WD-40 ??
1. CLEANS: WD-40 gets under dirt, grime and grease to clean. It also dissolves adhesives, allowing easy removal of labels, tape and excess bonding material.
2. DISPLACES MOISTURE: Because WD-40 displaces moisture, it quickly dries out electrical systems to eliminate moisture-induced short circuits.
3. PENETRATES: WD-40 loosens rust-to-metal bonds and frees stuck, frozen or rusted metal parts.
4. LUBRICATES: WD-40's lubricating ingredients are widely dispersed and tenaciously held to all moving parts.
5. PROTECTS: WD-40 protects metal surfaces with corrosion-resistant ingredients to shield against moisture and other corrosive elements.

You can get it from a hardware shop were 100ml bottle is nearly 100rs.

If the timing chain is loose you will hear it ...the sound will be like Anklets jingle..and your timing will become different every time you accelerate or decelerate making it hard to drive ...But engine will idle and will not shut down after starting.Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View PostA xBhpian said it could be timing chain .. is it possible for timing chain to be faulty so soon ?When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

I strongly feel that the filter in the petrol tap may be clogged..it is the small nut like structure under the petrol tap. This is actually the bowl which collects the debris in petrol .There is a filter in the underside of the tap, remove and see if it had collected dust blocking free flow of petrol...Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View Post

Take a look inside the Petrol Tank with a Torch and see if brown colored dust is there at the bottom of tank...if it is you need to clean the tank.Last edited by psr; 10-30-2011, 11:04 PM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
