Your shifting is OK.

a slight doubt that the petrol pump guy might have made a fool out of me coz both the time i filled in petrol from the same guy and heard that he is into adultration of fuel...going to try a different petrol pump

Same problem happened to someone else here,He was being cheated by the Petrol pump,Change the pump and ensure that the meter is set to 0.

and check the quantity of petrol filled.

No need to be sorry dear, i guess ur carb is set to RICH setting as most of new bikes are set to. Do check ur carb if its dark black then u running rich. there may be some sort of cheating by ur petrol pump but that cant be more than 10 % (1.5 lt in 15 lt fuel tank). even that cant bring ur mileage that low IMO.. Do check ur carb as other probable points are already checked by u.

Change the petrol pump before tuning the carb,change the petrol pump and see whether there is any change,then we can think of tuning the carb.

BTW did anyone else having little loose petrol tank ???

check and tight the bolt under the front part of the seat.

Nothing wrong in your gear shifting and riding pattern. With almost same patter, my new Unicorn Dazzler (1100 km on odo) is giving me 56-59 kmpl constantly. I am very happy with that. I have heard that any bike returns correct mileage figures roughly after 1.5K to 2K on odo. I hope you see improvements as kms passes. I suggest you to change fuel station ASAP. Look for reputed station in your nearby locality. Prefer Shell, BP or HP (I mean avoid Indian oil ). Seek for opinions from your friends in same locality. Quality of fuel and fuel station matters lot, can say this with own experience.

Still, your mileage is too low. Everything couldn't be attributed to fuel as other members pointed out. Check your carb. It might be supplying richer mixture.

I dont think petrol cheating as the only reason,27 is too low aneesh

already done that but even after tightning it, front part of tank is little loose. I can easily shake it . is that the only bolt holding the tank ??

There are two rubber bushes (One on each side) that holds the tank in place under the tank on the front part,Check it.

No only one bolt.Check for correct placing of bushes or check with other CBZ's.

my self start is giving some problem.it aint starting in one push. IDLE rpm is also correct.I am not running lean either.should i check my spark plug ??
