strictly use 10W30.....dont change grade....iam using hero oil for the past 3 yrs and completed 30000kms...it is working like charm...for 3000km.....no issues...i have used upto 6000km also but didnt find satisfactory...so i used to change at 3000km....it is not the oil type,,,,it is the oil quantity u should check.....even if u maintain little lower quality u will feel vibration and harshness.....using higher grade oil, u will face other issues...!!

Yeh, I use 900ml bottle only. and periodically check for oil level. i didnt find any issue with my oil level so far. My bike clocked ~18000 in two years with moderate driving. (mostly in the range of 60-70 kmph).
Please suggest if I need to check anything.

u just pour only 900ml..? i think it needs more. have u checked the oil level by dip stick (atleast twice) method in center stand and after warming up for atleast 5 mins.?

other reason incase of mud due to rain, leads to roughness.
check also the chain freeplay & lubrication, tyre pressure.

this is what i can think of. may be other experts would able guide you better. but at any case dont change oil grade.

check and inform us.

Let me clarify. Your bike is has the same engine as the Honda cbf150 and as such the engine oil requirements and grade are the same. Please check the user manual as there cannot be only one recommended grade. It usually has 10w30 for cold tempratures (winter) and 15w40 for hot temperatures (summer). However in India temprature is usually higher than what it is in the vehicles country of origin. So the manual is not accurate in that respect. Unless you live in a hill station. Oil is graded as per viscosity and temperature of use i.e 10=viscosity and 30=temperature in degrees. 10 is a low value meant for vehicles with radiators and oil coolers that cool the oil and provide a cooler environment for engine operation. Therefore 15w40 or 20w40 are proper recommended grades for India. Unless you live in Jammu.
Also check chain slack and play in the clutch. They are usually to blame. I live in Hyderabad and i have never used 10w30 for my bike and as such Hero guys never put anything less than 15w40. They use the grade as company default. And I was recommended shell 20w40 AX5 for my bike which to date has been superbly satisfactory and I have had the bike since 2007 bro.

I think you already posted this bro. But ok.
Your bike like most bikes makes a whistling noise which you can hear in pulsars, chetaks, splendors and other bikes. But in case this noise is different, please post a video of the sound so we may diagnose properly.

This is how spark plug look now. Ridden almost 250 kms from tuning.
Why so low mileage(37.91) even though tuning is perfect?
Your tuning is correct. But you can lean it a little. Keep the setting at 1.65 turns. At present you are running at 1.8 turns. Tighten the fuel screw by 0.15 turns.

As for your mileage change your ridding pattern. Control your right wrist and also see that you build speed gradually and try to maintain as much speed with as little throttle opening. This way you can get mileage.

I ride at 70-80 kph mostly but still i get so much mileage as i never pull hard and gradually gain speed. With throttle opened slightly i will be cruising instead of pulling the bike.

10 W 30 is the recommended grade and do not change to any other grade. 60-70 kph is the region where the extreme vibrates. So nothing to worry. Ride above 70 kph and you will see vibs will decrease a lot.

thats exactly one needs to learn....with gradual slight opening, bike will pull us whereas on sudden opening we will pull the bike....there is a huge difference between these two.!!!!

Used Gulf Synth as well as Gulf pride 10w30 for last 2 years, and I felt that both can be easily stretched beyond 2K kms.
Currently on Veedol Super swift 10w30, which seems to be even better!!

Yeh.. Gulf Semi Synth lasts for 2K.. whats the price for Veedol? Thinking of switching to Full Synth. Would that be a good advice?

Full synth is good. It means very low carbon build-up. But in case of air cooled bikes semi-synth is the way to go. Carbon build-up is low and so is the cost of the oil.

But it will also stretch the drain interval I guess.. so ultimately better performance with little cost added. Do you agree?

As suggsted by sibun, Veedol 10w 30 API SM oil seems friendly with engine. It's able to retain oil characteristic even after 2500 kms. Just opened the engine oil cap to check the viscosity and it seemed like it'll go more 1500 kms before oil change. sibun bro, since my last visit to BBSR, your mechanic checked that there's nothing wrong with tappets, still the bike feels tight and not rev friendly. You asked me to service on puja holidays but i was away.. so, could we schedule this again on some holiday so that bike feels rev-free and proper checking of every equipment like rotor filter, engine head, tappets, tuning etc will be serviced from the same mechanic ?

Ok we will schedule it with some other holiday. Else come on saturday and evening we will open up and next day we will fit back everything.

Change the oil as it has run a lot. And Yes Veedol 10 W 30 API SM oil is the best for extreme. I have found that Veedol makes best oil in business for Hero engines.

And how was the Short ride on my Joy? How did the Joy feel.

And now i am on Whats app. So you can message me on that.
