The accelerator cable was replaced mate.. and it stays at 3K RPM and slowly reduces to 1.2K RPM taking its own time of 5 to 10 seconds..

how to tune the carb fine to make it inbetween lean and rich mixture??

For the rpm thingy, open the bar end weights (if there) and realign it back. Also lube the throttle cable and check if its getting stuck.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

The accelerator cable is new.. I just replaced it. as for the weight.. Hunk comes with a plastic weight and it wasn't touching the throttle point.. this happens only when the engine heats up otherwise it is normal..

If accelerator cable is new , check for choke cable i think it is jamming hence making revs shoot up and richer on plug.

1.Set the tappets to .07/.06 for inlet and .1 for outlet using FEELER GAUGE ONLY .
2.Clean fuel tank and replace the strainer inside it if clogged.
3.Change brake fluid , use DOT4 fluid only.
4.Change oil to 10w30 , veedol , gulf , Hero any brand will do but grade must be same
5.Clean chain and adjust it at tightest link , 1.25" of play
6.Clean carb by removing float and jets , upper dis-assembly not required for CV carbs. While doing it take care to remove TPS connector by pulling connector out , it has some clip like thing that locks it so you need to press and pull.
7.Clean front brake pads and apply grease on caliper pin.

Thats it , finally tune carb by sibun's method and see the idling , if all things are done correctly and tappets are set perfect , the idling will be same as your ZMR , so will be the throttle response.
Carb Tuning made easy (Thanks Sibun !)

I am going for a new motorcycle and that is the reason I am not trying to fix my problem.
Well, point is, my bike wasn't making any noise and was getting 49kmpl. :P

But I knew the mech would've set them too tight, so starting fiddling with it. So trial and error will I reach the right setting.

Everything works like new now. Only thing left to do is check mileage, adjust tappets and retune the carb. Now all I need to know is how to improve the performance of the rear disc brakes. I use Dot 4 fluid and changed the fluid to KBX yesterday. Bite has increased but a little more would be welcome. Pads are also all right.

Awesome.

As for the rear disk brakes, they are extremely sharp in the first place. :O

Probably grease the caliper pin and clean the pads.

Mine aren't as sharp as they used to be. Will do that. Any DIY available? Met a very good mechanic yesterday. He worked on the bike and somehow fixed my gears. It used to take a lot of force to shift before. Can I buy just the unicorn 42t sprocket or will I need to buy the whole set?

I think you should be able to get the 42T sprocket alone.

That being said, my old mechanic used to spray a little petrol on the caliper and then ask me to ride the bike and keep hitting the brake repeatedly. With each slam of the brakes, it got a lot better.

By spraying, I mean this, you know how you spray water into the caliper to clean it? You spray petrol in the same manner.

As for the DIY, there is one around here. I remember seeing it. Will look around.

Shoeb had made a rear brake diy , find it in his latest replies sections , it is 4-5months old.

So got down to adjusting the tappets this morning. Set them to 0.06 and 0.10. The tappet noise has definitely reduced a great deal. 😁 But there is still a little noise after I ride around 10km. It's audible enough through the helmet while riding. Can I leave it as is or do I adjust further?

I'm going to let the little noise be. It doesn't warrant another adjustment in my opinion.

That said, these are the tools I used for Adjusting Tappets(In order of usage):

Star screwdriver to remove the side panels
Size 12 spanner to remove the petrol tank
Size 10 T Spanner to remove the bolts of the compressed air tube and the head cover
Pliers to remove the clips of the compressed air tube
Size 10 ring spanner to loosen the locknut
10mm Allen Key to remove the Inspection Hole cap
"L" handle with a size 19 fitment to turn the crank shaft
Tappet adjustment tool

I use the following tip, forget the T mark F mark etc., when I was rotating the crankshaft anti clockwise using the L Handle, I stop after every stroke and check the tappets, when both of them are loose, of course the piston is in TDC. Also, during this stroke, you will hear something like the sound a gas strut makes. I then adjust the tappets and then remove the spark plug and then turn the rear wheel a few time when the bike is in gear. After this, I then fit back the spark plug and again get the piston to TDC and then check the clearance again and adjust if required.

Also, I did what Sibun asked me to today. After overnight parking, I let the bike idle for around 30 seconds before setting the clearance. Seems to have helped!

Here's some more valuable information from the man sibun himself.

When company made the bike the maximum gap that the bike took while making no noise is 0.08 mm and 0.12 mm.But in your bike 0.08 mm and 0.12 mm are making noise. SO lets decrease each settings by 0.02 mm. If bike becomes silent that means this is the correct specs without danger of valve remaining open. So you must be thinking why did the setting decrease. Ok its a good question. The reason is that with age wear and tear happens. The pivot on which the rocker runs wear out sightly, the valve top surface wear out, valve seat wear out and so and so. Even if they are not visible to naked eyes they do make up to some variables. So we decrease the factory recommendation to 0.06 and 0.10. Even then a slight noise will be there which i frankly do not bother.Sometimes the rockers arms and camshaft, pivot and all gets set and thus runs in symphony. So when you change any variable then you have to wait for it to get little worn and come into symphony. Same thing happened with your new rockers and camshaft. Set those at 0.06 mm and 0.10 mm and run for some kilometers and when they get set after 2k-3k kilometers inspect and adjust again.
