Re: Cbz extreme Quick Oil Change Steps
itsmevini123: Currently I'm using Gulf Pride 4T Synth (10w30) in my xtreme. According to many fellow xbhpians, it may not be a fully synthetic oil.
But, I'm using this oil for the last 800 Kms, the most striking feature which I've noticed is that my engine is revving a lot better. I'll drain the engine oil before 2000 Kms.
P.S: This oil costs Rs. 300/- in Karol Bagh, and there is Rs. 50 coupon inside. So the net cost of this oil is Rs. 250/- per bottle only

Its a semi synth oil, but its a pretty good one, u can drain it at 2500km too.Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View Postitsmevini123: Currently I'm using Gulf Pride 4T Synth (10w30) in my xtreme. According to many fellow xbhpians, it may not be a fully synthetic oil.

Cold start is lot better

Re: Cbz extreme Quick Oil Change Steps
what will happen if we use 20W40?
"more the viscosity the less the friction inside the engine", right?
is 10w40 good for xtream?

Use 10w40 instead of 20w40, there's nothing wrong.Originally posted by abhisheklalnediya View Postwhat will happen if we use 20W40?

but why is 20w40 not recommended,Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostUse 10w40 instead of 20w40, there's nothing wrong.

10w30 and 10w40 is good but 20w40 is not good.
So I guess the cold viscosity is the problem?
But as the viscosity increases it gives more stress to the crank and piston but reduces the friction.
So any thing that goes above 30 when hot is not good ?

20w40 VS 10w30 == (high stress + low friction) VS (low stress + high Friction)
------------------
Now after switching from 20w40 to 10w30, that old vibration came back but engine feels more free, So I guess 10w40 is the best oil grade for us.
Please shred your opinions.

Re: Cbz extreme Quick Oil Change Steps
10w40 is same as 20W40, in India we don't need to take the number before the W into consideration much, for bikes like hunk/extreme/unicorn W30 and W40 is in most cases suitable.Originally posted by abhisheklalnediya View Postbut why is 20w40 not recommended,

Re: Cbz extreme Quick Oil Change Steps
See i am not saying 20W40 is bad , its just that it isnt the best oil and it cause lazy revving and slow acceleration ( note the accel drop is not dramatic , it is 1/100th sec lower )Originally posted by abhisheklalnediya View Postbut why is 20w40 not recommended,

The oil pump is extreme is designed to pump up 10W30 through capillaries and galleries to head , If one uses heavier oil then the oil pump efficiency reduces and new oil is thicker .
The Friction you mentioned is due to change of oil to 10W30 . And using heavier grade makes a slightly stronger seal between piston cylinder resulting in lower vibrations .
But using 10W30 will give you more vibrations but it will ensure better cooling of engine since oil pump will provide good flow .
You can use 10W40 , but i remember sibun saying it caused top end acceleration slower ( sibun please help )
But IMHO 10W30 gives true character of extreme , I used 10W40 AX7 and found not much change as i barely cross 80kmph . So shifted back to 10W30 , Gulf Pride 4T plus

Re: Cbz extreme Quick Oil Change Steps
Depends on what the bike is used to from the start, if someone's been using 10w30 from start then xxW40 will feel sluggish, whereas my bike is used to 20w40 from the start and does not feel sluggish at all it should be able to take 15w50 also with minor performance drop.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostSee i am not saying 20W40 is bad , its just that it isnt the best oil and it cause lazy revving and slow acceleration ( note the accel drop is not dramatic , it is 1/100th sec lower )

Re: Cbz extreme Quick Oil Change Steps
hi friends i am back.... Clocking my Cbz around 21k... no big problems. now i tuned my self and fitted a HHO kit.. the funniest thing is i dont know the milage incresed due to my hard tight tuning (Slow speed too) and FUEL screw or hho kit..... any way noe gettting an average of 47kmpl. previous mileage was 38-40kmpl... i am presently using the prescribed oil.
Rohit is right by using 20-40 oil feels less vibration.. i used that for some thousands of kms. from the past 4k kms i am using the 10-30.
Tip: in high range areas use less rpm while you climbing dont go above 4k rpm... 22 hairpin hill area 6 months ago i went with bad mood and i ripped hard i got 22kmpl milage. this time i ride with very relax mind and didnt give much stress to my baby now it gives the same on the city. above 44kmplsigpic

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hey guys,
The availability of Hero Hunk is very less. The dealer says keep the model options open for single disc and double disc.
And give me two color options so that i can get the bike early.
Now what should i do.. double disc for 150cc is not required but i will get the bike soon.. color option i am ok with black or grey.. that is not a concern..
Most people have posted and replied to me regarding the problems of double discs.. they are worthless and are of no use. Some say that nothing can match the power of disc brakes compared to drum brakes.. what is true i dont know..
Kindly help guys. What to do? I am in a dilemna..

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
My xtream have Dual disks
You need to ride both sing/dual to experience the difference.
Breaking is really good
The rear breaks use a special type of break pads that won't let the rear break easily lock so break bit will be a little less.
Most of us expect a bite similar to the front disk. So they are complaining.
Pros
- Better breaking
- Looks
- Easy to maintain
Cons of rear break
- Expensive
- Local mechs are not familiar with these even if its present for a couple or years back.
Go for dual disk variant without any doubt.
