Man you are running 20W 40 oil in extreme. I will damage the bore and eat up the crank. Also mileage and pick-up will go for a toss.Use 10W 30 in extreme, in low cost go for VEEDOL TAKE OFF 10W 30 premium, or 5100 10W 30 in semisynthetic or Honda throttle or Motul 7100 10W 30 in fully synthetic.
Why cant we use grease for chain lube?

Yes I am going to change it to 5100 10W 30 in semisynthetic today.

Should I buy a drain bolt and washer before doing that? its unavailability of these two things a trouble

Grease cannot lubricate interior sides of chain as it is very thick. So it doesn't serve the purpose of proper lubrication.
Use only SAE 90 grade oil and also you can try 140 grade as mentioned by sibun.
There is no need to change bolt and washer unless it is in bad condition.
And never overtighten the drain bolt while putting it back. Otherwise :banghead::banghead:

What's the engine oil drain cycle guys means if someone's bike have not done more 500kms from the engine oil changed and standing on garage, how much time you can keep the bike standing till next engine oil change...?

If someone have tighten your tappets more than normal, due to that if idling of the bike if affecting when engine is cold, how much harmful it is and how many kms can be done if non availability of good mechanic till he gets the good mechanic....?

Keeping the air pressure 35PSI in front Tyre of hunk is a solution for leaking the air from alloy (where tyre meets the alloy), re-seated the tyre twice in a month and still facing this issue....?

        Thanks in advance......

If a bike is kept standstill for several months then the engine oil(mineral) will start forming sludge and thus loosing its properties, which is bad for the engine as it will seriously affect the oil circulation throughout the engine( say from Head to sump) and the other problem i had heard before is Oxidation. Some 2-3 months standstill period is ok. If it extends to more than 6 months then consider replacing oil.
Moreover, you can avoid such issues if you plan to use synthetic or semi-synthetic engine oil.
Another advice, always crank engine before starting after such long time and disconnect the battery terminals.

If someone have tighten your tappets more than normal, due to that if idling of the bike if affecting when engine is cold, how much harmful it is and how many kms can be done if non availability of good mechanic till he gets the good mechanic....?
It is advised to adjust tappets as soon as possible. Driving some very few kms is ok. Tight tappets(without any clearance) will reduce power output and mileage. As the valve cannot close fully, the valve seats are likely to get damaged and a layer of carbon may develop on valve seat. So now you can image how much it can damage the engine.

I think the refits can simply add your problem. 35PSI is too much, it will seriously affect handling, braking and so do not exceed 30psi.
I have heard from many people facing such issues. Can anyone throw some light on this?

            Thanks in advance......

hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum and i am really thankful to this forum for selecting me hero xtreme. i purchased it on 21/08/2013. total kms done till date is 730 properly run in thanks for this thread and xbhp, first servicing on 10/10/2013 as you all said service centre guys didn't do anything in servicing, they just change engine oil, adjust clutch and chain,(very tight) they even dont clean air filter. but, overall i am happy with bike performance.

Recently i purchase a pair of white LED bulbs and wants to use it as pilot lamps of xtreme, i insist service centre guys to replace it but they wont replaced it. so please anyone guide me to replace this LED.
              Thanks

Get chain slack corrected , running a tight chain will damage chain drive and put load on gears , slack should be 1.5 inch from tighest link. You can do bulb change yourself easily, does the new bulb have 2 pointed wires coming out ?? . You can open headlamp easily at home , you need #10 open, ring or T spanner, i use T spanner . Below headlight you will find it is bolted by two #10 bolts on either side. Remove them and take caution to hold the headlight , Next you need to lift it a bit to remove it frm bike , carefully remove connectors ( never pull by wires ) , Then there is a single black cover which has pilot lamp inside , remove it and you will have access to pilot lamp. Swap and reassemble , Just when you are tightening #10 bolts , there is a mark on which shows OE levelling of headlamp , so keep that in mind else you will have bad light throw , i.e too high or too low.

Else mech will do it easily , not the svc ones and will cost you about 20-30rs
Generally svc guys dont bother to do such things as it is extra work for them

You should connect the red wire to the side of the fuse which does not get any power when the fuse is removed.
                        In simple words-
Either of the socket of fuse's pin will have power when fuse is installed.
But, when the fuse is removed, only one side will have power and other will not.
You should connect to the side which does not have power when the fuse is removed but gets power ONLY when the fuse is installed. This way you are not bypassing the fuse.

                          Hey fellas!

Has there been any news that Hero Hunk is going to discontinue.
because i have booked Hero Hunk and all of a sudden waiting on the bike has started and the dealer started giving excuses like bike is not in production, i am hardly getting any stock.
                          will update you soon.

I even did an inquiry at other dealers too and they said that the bike has waiting for at least 25 days.

do let me know the update soon guys. i have almost made the full payment. just kept 5k as outstanding which i will give him at the time of delivery.
If its really going to discontinue i would better go for Honda Unicorn or Yamaha FZ.
I am ready to wait but it should not happen that i buy the bike and it gets discontinued and no spare part availability. that would really really hurt.
                          Thanks
                          Cheers!

Not sure, hero launched many bikes for 2014 but hunk wasn't in the list. I don't think they would discontinue such a popular bike.

No, hunk has not been discontinued. It is just that with the launch of new bikes the existing production line has to accomodate new bike production, so production of hunk will have been slowed down a bit. Call hero on its toll free number and complain. If hunk is not available why not go for extreme. The new model extreme looks hot.

New xtreme has loads of new features like engine immobilizer and side stand switch for engine kill, since its a new bike might have improved performance and FE too.
