    To day I replaced
Air filter, spark plug, rear break pads.

    air filter : Rs 130
    spark plug : Rs 114
    Break pad : Rs 1082
Break pad fitting charge Rs 100

Last month I changed front pads for just around Rs 350, why does a much smaller rear break pad costs triple?

Hi guys , 5 days back i bought new hunk double disk brake model from the 2nd day i am facing some problems, i want some good suggestion:
1)When i am pulling clutch for changing gear its rpm is automatically got increased.I had tuned bike's idling screw but after riding 40-50 km same problem is occurring again.

2)Gear shift-from top gear to bottom gear sometime it will not shift properly and quickly.

3)Front Disk -Front wheel is not revolving properly, actually pads are touching the disk plate when i told this problem to mechanic of hero service center he told me to wait till 1 st service. Same problem with rear disk also here some part is in contact.

Should i wait till first service for this disk brake problem ???Is any one here from hyderabad and knows good mechanic???
I am bit worried as the bike is new and i am facing such problems.
          Please suggest some good solution.

          Thank you

            1. Dont accelerate when shifting gears

            2. wait till 1st service, changing oil will solve the problem

            3. try touching both the discs after riding about 5kms, if its hot then the disc pads are rubbing against the disc. Ask the service guy to remove the disc calipers and install again(had same problem when i bought my 220)

                Hi Satson,

I am not sure which is which. but from the bottom, its at the first step and here are a few steps it can take after which crossing the first step it will come to the bottom again.

By first position, I believe you mean the shock absorber is set lower which means it is in harder setting.

What is the idling RPM ?
As the engine gets free, idling rpm will increase approximately for every 50kms till the odo shows 400-500kms. This is Perfectly normal, just decrease the idling rpm to about 1300RPM.

                  Few don'ts-
Don't let the mechanic touch the carburetor during the service.
Don't cross 5,000 RPM in any gear until first service.
Don't bother about the mileage, if you do the run-in carefully then you can expect a mileage of 50+ in city after 5000kms.
                  Don't over tighten the chain.

Gears will become smooth after 1500kms.

Slight rubbing is common in disc brakes, it won't be as free as drum brakes.

                  Don't worry, enjoy your ride.

When you adjust the shocks such a way that the saddle height increases, the shock is getting softer.
I have read somewhere that it is not advisable to set it to softest setting.

If its set to hard the saddle height increases, well not really 'increase' coz it looks the same height but it doesn't compress as much when we sit on it as before so it feels higher.

Ask them to check PCV tube(breather tube)also. It could be blocked or pinched leading to a higher crankcase pressure.

If possible, we will meet on 12th(Saturday).

What does this mean? don't clean the carb or dont touch the AFR screw?
when I was having free service, they put carb cleaning on the list every time!

My ride is having starting trouble during morning.
and a 30% drop in mileage

Will carb cleaning will fix the solution?

I just crossed 22K and out of that 5K with out visiting any ASC.

                            during last 5K,
                            I kept chain slackness correct
                            changed oil 2.5k ago
                            changes airfilter,
                            sparkplug,
                            rear break pads

                            What else should I check?
Should I bother about any thing inside the engine?

I think we need a page on "How to maintain your ride your self than visiting ASC?"

Thanks for the reply, right now idling screw is set b/w 1.5-1.2 (rpm) beyond this lower limit the engine will stop. actually the problem is i have set that idling screw but after every 40-50 km while changing gear its acceleration or you can say rpm automatically gets increase when you pull the clutch even though when accelerator is in nil position.Do you know any trustworthy mechanic in hyderabad???
