  • Saurabh , if possible please post a pic of your spark plug here . That would help to identify type of mix you are running . Also air filter is cheap but really important part of bike . I guess you know that na

Update: My RPM seems to be varying too much within 1 hr of ride.in the beginnng it was 1500 and suddenly it rose upto 3K :O,it must be affecting my FE badly. This thing makeing me doubt my sparkplug, what do u say guys ???
I wouldn't advice you to fiddle with the carb. Get a mech (if you know a reliable one) or go to the svc. Get the following stuff done and i am sure you prob will be fixed:
      1. Clean air filter or use a known good one (or simply replace it)
      2. Get the petrol tank, pet cock cleaned and DRIED.
      3. Remove the carb and get it cleaned and check if the diaphragm is 'sticking or damaged' , also check the manifold rubber (were the carb is connected to) it its developed any cracks or has 'holes' - replace if necessary
      4. Clean the spark plug and check if its the recommended one for your bike - if not replace it with the stock recommended one.
      5. Lastly get your throttle cable lubed !

I own CBZ Xtreme DDS with 23k on odo. I usually change the engine oil @ 1800km. But from last two times I'm observing that the volume of drained oil is approximately 650 ml.
But, there in no smoke from exhaust neither there is any loss in pickup.
I'm using shell advance AX7 SS oil since 17k on odo. Kindly elaborate whether this is worn ring issue or something else
I hope to get some advice from all you experts
        Please help....
        Hi All,
Now I'm thinking of giving XADO Vitaflush a try just before draining my current engine oil.
It's a 20 ml pouch, which is mixed with current engine oil and then idled for 10-15 min before draining the complete oil.
It claims to recondition the piston ring operation & eliminates hydraulic compensator sticking effect.
        What do you guys say:what:

        • Don't . Besides other possible harm , some of it shall remain back after draining and mix with your fresh oil fill and spoil it . Forget all those tall claims , no possible good shall come of it - engine flushes are not for motorcycle engines .

I say spend that money on a beer-flush of your tummy (if you are teetotaler, then use that beer as a hair-flush i.e. shampoo)

Sir Pinaki is right about it in the prev post.

Remove the carb and get it cleaned and check if the diaphragm is 'sticking or damaged' , also check the manifold rubber (were the carb is connected to) it its developed any cracks or has 'holes' - replace if necessary . Carb cleaning to be done only after someone helps me out with pics(preferably) @ Pinaki/EKM_Biker/Sibun sir !!
                4. Clean the spark plug and check if its the recommended one for your bike - if not replace it with the stock recommended one. Replaced the sparkplug with OEM.
                5. Lastly get your throttle cable lubed !
No issue with this cable as such.

let me check for that strange behaviour. Only thing left is now carb cleaning/tappet adjustments.

                • Saurabh , change throttle cable if it is jerky or not smoothly pulls . Also do get feeler gauges for tappet adjustment . Are you gonna adjust tappets your self ? Let me know , it will be d.i.y for me

                        • Are you getting tik tik sound of tappets ? Is your power loss problem solved by change of filter ?

Yes too much less or more gap, bike will not rev freely. You can experiment with this.

                            Check these links..
How-to: Check and adjust valve clearances on the CBF125 | CBF125 Rider

You just need to make sure both valves are closed. Lines on the cam sprocket should match with the mating surface of the head. And circle mark should be exhaust (front wheel) side.
If u have any doubt then ask here. Tappet adjustment for Honda CBF and Extreme is same. Only difference is in Honda circle mark on cam sprocket is kept downside of inlet valve whereas on extreme/hunk its kept on exhaust side.

                            Edit: One more link

Nearabout the specified limits , larger gap gives longer spark with more energy and better burn . Smaller gap gives shorter , lower energy (hence less efficient burn) but more sure & reliable spark particularly with an weak ignition system . If the gap increases too much , timing is retarded and vice-versa .

                              • Thanks a lot pinaki da , mine xtreme plug has clearance of .8 to.9 mm , but when measured it was 1mm , so it wouldnt do much damage i suppose . Also while tightening it back does one need to apply some specific torque or just tightening them is enough . I read in manual that re-tightening requires 1/8th of turn. But couldnt apply that much force to turn it.
