re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
How do you know that your tool kit was "sealed" ?Owner's manual, First-aid kit,Tool kit,Crash/leg guard, silencer shields and RVMs don't come factory fitted. It is shipped along with the bike and is included in the Ex-showroom price. Battery is left disconnected in case of sealed batteries (and non-sealed acid-type batteries are not installed.)Originally posted by RohIIT View Post

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
It was completely packed and had no signs of tampering . I guess mine kit wasn't packed with that tool . I asked to dealer for that tool , he said they would try level best to source one and send me that tool.

Re: 11k update of my extreme
Thanks for quick reply. I wanted to go through entire manual so that I know what is what. Nothing in particular.Originally posted by shoeb2015 View PostRight now it is not possible to scan all the pages, let me know if you want any specific info from the manual.
In that case, I'll wait for the dealer to give me the manual.

Yes broOriginally posted by shoeb2015 View PostThen I think you were forced to get the free services done from the dealer itself,no ? (As you did not have the service coupons).
I wonder what they do with those manuals.
During my last service.
ASC guy told me not to apply grease to any part like clutch lever brake lever etc and not to put oil to chain instead use spray for all this and he sprayed with different sprays of 3M make to different type of lubricating areas. Is that good???
He mixed some 3M oil along with engine oil which charged totally 380rs as he said it will smoothen the engine.
Is that all fine what he said and what he did???

All I can say is that he has ripped you. The chains used in our bikes are not fancy and will not require fancy stuff. Just regular SAE 90 gear oil is more than sufficient.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostYes bro

I grease the levers and then wipe off the excess with a cloth. Greasing the pivots/joints of the gear lever once in a while is also a good idea. Slide the rubber and stuff the grease.
Grease tends to harden the rubber overtime(2-3years)but those rubbers are very cheap and easy to find.
For god's sake- Never ever over-tighten the chain, check the slack before and after service. There is no meaning in adjusting the slack when it is with the specification. Mechanics don't know the meaning of chain adjustment and they think it means tightening the chain.
If the chain is making noise even within the recommended slack of 5/4" then remove the chain, clean and lubricate it frequently.
Always adjust the chain at its tightest point/link. SO that you get the recommended slack at the tightest link and more at other links. If you adjust they other round way then at the tightest point the slack will be very less and it will result in severe stressing of the chain during suspension travel.
Ask sibun,I had faced a lot of problem with an over-tightened chain. The bike would simply jump out of the gear while in 5th gear. I got the #30 spanner and adjusted it and the problem vanished as if nothing had happened.

This part helped me a lot - cant thank you enough - i used to adjust by rotating the chain where the play was more prominent - will do it no moreOriginally posted by shoeb2015 View PostAlways adjust the chain at its tightest point/link. .
update : 2700 kms on the veedol swift 10w 40 will check the oil level tomorrow - last i checked it at 2300 kms - the level was fine - will post tomorrow
70% of the 2700kms done in stop and go traffic - this is the third oil change on veedol and the bike just loves it - if the oil level is fine will try to do a 500 kms trip thats coming up shortly on the same oil as i dont feel like my bike needs any new oil .

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hi Friends,
I'm observing a strange problem in my xtreme now a days. When petrol hits reserve the bike feels very harsh and strained. But as soon as the tank is refilled and bike goes into mains, the smooth ness comes back.
I really wonder what is the cause of this issue

Time to clean your tank and petrol filter in tank.Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostHi Friends,

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Sibun and other members, what do you suggest is the best way to clean the tank and petrol filter (and other screens/strainers if present)? Just give it to the service center or some good do-it-ourselves? AFAIK water washing will only make the tank rust faster from inside, accelerating rust-dust and debris collection and therefore clogging the smooth flow of petrol.
If giving to the ASC, what should be ensured/checked for a good clean?

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Sibun told a procedure to clean tank using a timing chain and string . You tie string to a used timing chain and wriggle it vigorously to dislodge dirt inside tank , also change the petcock (only upper strainer part needs changing). Use kerosene first to clean tank and them followed by mild detergent . Then the tank is kept to dry for a day , one can use dryer to speed up drying process. Hope this helps.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Problem will be solved for now but you will have to get the tank cleaned later anyway if too much debris is found stuck to the filter.Originally posted by nishesh.kumar View PostThanks a lot to Sibun and RohIIT for your quick reply. One more query, if I change the fuel petcock only but do not clean the tank as its very time consuming then whether my purpose would be solved or not.
If you don't have enough time, you can clean/replace the petrol filter mesh now and clean the tank properly later.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
As shoeb said , changing petcock is temporary fix , you will have to clean the tank , you will be amazed how much debris is collected in it .
