I doubt it should affect mileage, but handling will definitely improve. Especially behaviour in the wet. Out stock tyres have a terrible tendency to fishtail in the rain. Although, IIRC, Sirac is a soft compound tyre, which means it is more prone to punctures.Originally posted by rahul.zamre View Post

Thanks Ashwin . Normaly from the spare parts shop we will get full set, not only front sprocket but still we can give a try . Yes I need mileage and top speed. With 15T we can only have a small change in mileage speed and acc so no problem .just confirming about the chain compatibilityOriginally posted by ashwin.terminator View PostAcceleration will drop a bit and top speed will increase. IIRC, in 5th gear, you'll be doing 7kmph more than with the stock sprocket.
Good to do, I guess that depends on what you intend on using the bike for. My guess is, it'll help get a few more kmpl. But that's what I think, not sure.
Compatibility, it definitely compatible. But since it's a larger front sprocket, I guess the chain needs to have expanded a bit before you can use it. Which, after 8k km, I'm sure it would've.
Nonetheless, wait for someone who has used the 15T on their bike to reply. It'll be more clear.
One question though, do we get only the front sprocket separately or must the entire kit be bought?

Veedol swift 10W 40 - try it once and see the magicOriginally posted by BloggingWheels View PostHi,
I am planning to fill Motul for my Hunk in my upcoming oil-change schedule and am confused between 3000 4T Plus 10w30 and 5100 4T 10w30. As far as I could tell from what was posted on their site, the 5100 seems synthetic? I would go in for a mineral oil only. Considering that, along with Shell 10w40 (scorching summers on the horizon). Is Shell in that rating available in mineral?
Thanks
.
I was using the uni 15T sprocket for some time - the gears become a lot taller - perfect for highway cruising - but will take some time to get adjusted inside city - once got used to it i liked it very much even inside my village .Originally posted by ashwin.terminator View PostNonetheless, wait for someone who has used the 15T on their bike to reply. It was replaced when they installed the new bore kit - 12000 kms before - will replace this and my choke cable next service - the choke has not been changed for more than 50k kms and its kinds hard when i pull the choke .Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostAs a rule of thumb it would be best to replace cable every year, for best performance

Well my sister used to own activa and she used to strt by using choke... The engine was not able to perform its best after 1.5 yrs... The pickup reduced and also the mileage was reduced... Mileage came down from 46 kmpl to 34-35kmpl.... So i prefer to kick start my xtreme by not touching the choke at all..
Thankfully hero motocorp has installed kick start in the new model but they have designed the foot rest little bit small for the kick :-(Motorad

there is no connection between using the choke to start the bike (with or without electric start) and getting a poor mileage/bad performance. what is important is that the choke shouldn't be used continuously for extended period (like for e.g. the bike is started with the choke and then you forget to close it and ride on) << If this was done regularly, then you will definitely screw up any bike/scooter !Originally posted by xtremecbz View PostWell my sister used to own activa and she used to strt by using choke... Got my bike serviced on Saturday. After I received it in the evening, after a few kms, I noticed the bike was struggling to accelerate. And also I noticed it had become a lot more rougher than it was before the servicing. Sunday morning, I checked the oil level after warming the bike for about 3+ mins, according to the procedure mentioned in the manual. THe oil level on the dipstick was somewhere near the Lower mark[is it at this position always?]. I make a trip of about 100+ kms, after returning I again checked the oil level, it was the same again. Anyways, I thought it was low and decided to make a trip to the SVC again today. Things I told him:
1)About the increased engine roughness.
2)Squealing nose from the front disk when engaged at speeds in excess of 40.
3)I was facing the same problem someone was a few pages back wherein bike's rpm increases rapidly when you accelerate[ to which someone had suggested that he was runnign too lean]. The bike also stalled the previous day in they city traffic.
The SVC manager decides to take the bike for a spin and asked me to ride a pillion. To my surprise he ripped the bike in all gears. Anyways, when he started braking, the noise from brake was audible as well. So back at SVC he calls the mechanic and asked him to only tighten the clutch. When I told him that oil level thing, he asked me to show where in manual it was written that we need to warm up the engine to check the level. When I showed it to him, he merely pointed out that it is the procedure to top up the oil as this procedure is mentioned under that heading. They told me to check oil when bike is at idle position. As for the disk sound, SVC manager refused to acknowledge it, whereas the mechanic said that it was a common sound. I came back home.
Any suggestions, people?
Tomorrow morning I will try checking oil level by method they suggested and by idling engine for just about 2 mins and see again, also will photograph the dipstick.
PS:People from Hyd, please suggest me a good SVC. Heard good things about Phoenix motors from many Karizma owners, but that place is a good 35kms from my house.

@sarbon: dude please clear out ur inbox...I can't PM u! :P
Is the Veedol 10w40 semi-synth or mineral? I am averse to filling up semi-synth/synth in my Hunk at least till 10k kms. Nothing hard-n-fast but just in my mind! Want to run mineral till 10k and then switch to semi.
What are the best options in mineral for 10w30/40 apart from Motul of course?

The veedol swift is semi synthetic and beleive me it is best. I am using shell advance ultra fully synthetic 10 W 40 in my extreme at 9k kms and have been using it from 7k kms. After 5k you are free to use semi and fully synthetic.Originally posted by BloggingWheels View Post@sarbon: dude please clear out ur inbox...I can't PM u! :P

If you are using mineral then use VEEDOL TAKE-OFF PREMIUM 10 w 30, and believe me you will never want to switch to any other oil.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. @sibun: Regarding Veedol I have never used it but I would agree with you that it is a good oil. Twice I used the Honda (Silver bottle) Mineral 10w30 and it was very good. Also, Honda sources it from Tide Water Oil Co. (Veedol) + Nippon (Japan). See the attached pic for your reference
.
Drain interval was 1100-1200 kms. No problems whatsoever.
Now, the question(s):
1. Drain interval for Veedol Take of Premium 10w30? (Isn't is Semi-synth?) Two Wheeler Oils :: VEEDOL TAKE-OFF 4T PREMIUM
2. By Swift, do you mean Two Wheeler Oils :: VEEDOL SUPER SWIFT ? It is mentioned "Synthetic". Btw, the product pages do not show anything as "swift". They have this "Super Swift".
3. Drain intervals for rest of the oils, please.
Thanks

A gesture is more than enough to the wise.
Just kidding. You are paying a "premium" to get re-branded Vedool Premium 4T oil in a Honda bottle.
Try to get Super Swift and you will love it much more than a 10W30 in this summer.Last edited by shoeb2015; 03-21-2013, 12:33 PM.

No worries here syntheic term is used mostly as a marketing gimmick - you can safely use this veedol now itself dont have to wait till 10000kmsOriginally posted by BloggingWheels View Post@sarbon: dude please clear out ur inbox...I can't PM u! :P

The only thing you need to worry about aynthetics like 300V is they will cause gasket leak - i suffered this a lot with all the motuls i used - no such problem with veedol.
Sorry just cleared my inbox
