it won't buy you any noticeable power. Just sound. And also your so called free flow exhaust will like you've been from any accident. Even with all these cons if you want to go with it then search the topic. One guy has done this on his R15. The thread is in the DIY section. Sorry using mobile, so can link you up..

posting this after reading that post.....

my bike feels strained at higher RPMS..... and it feels like it has no power after 8000 rpm..
so i guess removing the catcon will improve the high end performance as far as my knowledge goes......

      • These engines produce max torque at ~6.5k rpm and max ps/hp at ~8-8.5k rpm. So the thing is it will be like that. Even if you unrestrict its exhaust.

If you remove restriction from exhaust you will loose torque as well, but removing catcon alone wont give you the desired effects, just a minor change.

overhauled cylinder due to scratch in cylinder, changed piston and rings (first over size )

            changed timing chain, tensioner

all these costed me 4500 rs
            Thanks.
If the work has been done good, then the cost is very reasonable.

Your bike has done >28k and its clutch plate's life is 75% over.So u are feeling lack of power at high rpm as slipage is more at higher RPMs.Time being check the free play of clutch and adj as necessary and ride another 10k at lesser speeds and /or check and change the clutch plates.

              • I managed to get the fuel pipe thing after some running around (i hope this is xtremes as the shopkeeper was not so sure lol) :

Also my front fork oil is leaking what to do guys ? i hear this loud thud whenever i go over a pothole :

The right side fork seems to have no leak.

I cant seem to find splendor timinng chain ....will use my golden retrievers collar chain instead .

Also what is the part number for the clutch plate ?

i dont think its any issues with the clutch plate as my bike behaves like since the day i bought the bike...... and also i have problem of the bike vibration since the day and still not solved.... experimented with several oil brands and configuration.... still no luck...

Had a similar problem with my bike at 12 thousand Kms , Took it to a local mechanic instead of ASC , he replaced the fork oil ,oil seal and the leakage stopped . But the suspension was harsh , i still feel the thud when ever I go over potholes. I asked for a reason for such a leakage , instead of complaining about bad roads and stuff , the mechanic said that its due to weight of the disc brakes I was like and decided not to visit him again. My bike has done nearly 17k kms now , so far no leakage but forks are pretty harsh.

You can replace the oil in both forks preferably. Just make sure that the fork is as soft as before after a hundred Kms or so. Otherwise there could be some other problem with the suspension.

You will be surprised to see the amount of debris that this filter can catch.
To me that looks like the pet cock of splendor,I don't know if this is same as splendor and fits CBZ.

The oil leak seems to be minor but if the oil hasn't been changed in a while then get both the forks oil seal and oil replaced.
Motul seems to be my and Sibun's favorite fork oil. Check the condition and free length of the springs as yours is bottoming out,it can also be due to oil oil.
Free length is 465mm(18.45 inches) and each each fork takes 150ml. (As per Honda unicorn shop manual)

Never use a cloth which was used for buffing off the wax to clean the fork inner steel tube as it will cause the oil to leak.

I had issue with forks 1 year back, slight oil leak in one of the forks and they were really harsh.
Got both the oil seals(oil seals priced at 120/- per unit :O) and oil replaced, and the moment I took the bike from SVC i was able to feel the difference. It is now around 8k kms now and it has become harsh again, also slight leak in one of the forks.

Oil seals can get damaged due to age and also due to scratches on fork tubes.

                        • Guys, one out of context question
Its almost 33,000 Kms and i still haven't changed the stock tyres (CBZ Xtreme 150) that were there on day 1.
Front tyre has never got punctured. Rear has got punctured just once. (purchased the bike in Feb 2010)
1.Should i go for Tyre change?
2.If i change tyre, should it be stock zappers or some other is more suitable for cbz-x?
                          3. What effect does change of tyre (something else other than stock) can have? and how does it impacts the health of bike?
                          Thanks in advance.

                          • Satson, shoeb and girimajiananth thanks for the reply :

Shoeb was right it was indeed splendors fuel pipe ...so returned it. Instead bought veedol superwift 10W 40 for the clutch change procedure ....the shopkeeper also had the veedol front fork oil so got that as well ...motul is almost impossible to find

                            http://

Tomorrow will change the front fork seal + oil + new clutch plates ....tank cleaning have to wait as SC has no stock of fuel pipe ....today i had to push the bike for 3 kms as the bike suddenly stopped on the middle of the road ....it had at least 2 Lt of petrol inside the tank when it happened .

Michelin SIRAC street with honda tuff up tube is the way to go...way better than MRF but for the first 8000 kms you will simply love the michelins .

                              • Hi friends! This is Srinath from A.P. I have bought the Hero XTREME couple of days ago. Everything is fine except that I am getting squeaking / rattling sound from the rear shock absorbers. When ever I go through some pot holes or bumps it is far more clear. I went to nearest hero service center ( not the one where I bought the vehicle --- it is bit far away from where I stay) ; the mechanic said that it is natural and they will set it right during first service. Surprisingly the sound went away that day. It started again yesterday, when I took the bike out in the morning. Is there a way I can fix it my self or do I have to take it to the main service center. Anticipating some help ......! Thank you!
