re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
First tighten the chain, and if it happens again soon then remove the chain guard and check ur sprocket to see if its worn out. Generally in normal riding conditions the chain sprocket set is changed around 25k km.Originally posted by itsmevini123 View Post

Re: updates on my extreme
My old problem still persist. I changed the engine oil to stock hero honda 10w30, changed the spark plug, even tuned the AF mixture with Hero service center. Now additionally one more problem arrived. Even start through choke, rpm did not get going . simply staying in 1.5- 2 k. seriously past few months are very tough for me due to this problems. plsss.. give me good solution and advice me some good mechanic for xtreme in chennaiOriginally posted by paul.1911 View PostFirst of all change your oil. 10w40 is bit thicker for xtreame and makes the engine becoming more hot and reduction in mileage. Go for 10w30 veedol take off.
Problem in idealing and reduction in acceleration means your mixture is very lean. I am sure your mechanic had fiddle with your carburettor tuning. So my recommendation is to get your carburettor adjusted by any good mechanic. And your problem will most likely to be solved by this. Also carburettor needs adjustment after spark plug & air filter change.
Also if you have got your chain adjusted recently, then check if it has a slack of 15-25mm if its tight then get it adjust.

th gear
Q.5: Low Acceleration
Ans : 1. Check for chain slackness , tighten it to recommended tension and keep 1-1.5 inch free play
2. Check carb tune, chances are you might be running rich (more fuel)
3.Check tyre air pressure
Q.6: Poor light intensity
Ans: 1. Change bulb with Philips or Osram make bulb , Philips thin german made bulbs have better focus and intensity
2.Check for magneto coil wear , Generally it doesnt need much maintenance
3.Clean Headlight assembly with care , by not damaging or scratching reflectors
Q.7 : Engine Stalling
Ans: 1.It might be due to bad AFR , Clean and Retune carb
2.It might be due to valve leakage , this requires polishing and re-seating of valves
3.Compression is getting low , this requires further more troubleshooting such as valves , piston rings etc
3. Damaged CDI
I hope i covered basics problems and their (hopeful
) solutions .
vrm_venkat1 The problem is in carb , you need to get in cleaned thoroughly and replace choke+throttle cable ( just for peace of mind ). use sibun`s guide to re tune carb or you can follow mine signature for full detail

Thanks for the detailed postOriginally posted by RohIIT View PostAfter a long time , i took time out to make a FAQ kind of post for all , lets hope this helps new members . Veteran members please correct/add new details .
Q.1: Low mileage
Ans: 1. Change petrol bunks, use full tank to full tank method or reserve to reserve method to measure
2. Clean and retune carb at 15-20K kms
3. Clean air filter at 5K and replace at 10K kms
4. Maintain Correct air pressure in tyres
5.Use throttle lightly to accelerate
6.Check spark plug for wear and gap
Q.2 :Hard gearshifts
Ans: 1. Change engine oil for
Mineral : 1-1.2k Kms
Semi Synth : 2-2.5K kms
Full Synth : 3-4k Kms
2. Clean and lubricate chain with SAE90 grade oil.
3. Change gears at 3-4K rpm.
4. Lubricate gear shift links using grease.
Q.3 : Engine roughness
Ans : 1. Change engine oil if it hasn’t been changed in a while
2. Check valve clearance (tappet adjustment)
3. Check spark plug for wear and gap
4.Decarb the head and valves at 25-30K kms ( depends upon various other conditions)
Q.4 : Speed –RPM mismatch
Ans : 1. If bike has done 35-40K clutch plate life might be over , open crankcase and inspect for wear
2.If mismatch is of 2-3 kmph it might be due to improper clutch play.
Ideal rpm match is 50/51kmph @ 5th gear
Q.5: Low Acceleration
Ans : 1. Check for chain slackness , tighten it to recommended tension and keep 1-1.5 inch free play
2. Check carb tune, chances are you might be running rich (more fuel)
3.Check tyre air pressure

Hmm.. I haven't changed my air-filter for the past 20k kms.. Would it be the cause of low-mileage. I get a constant 42kmpl.. Tuning is perfect or near to perfectHero Honda CBZ- 2007-2007 Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme- 2007-2013

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Yes then its high time you change it , it costs hardly 150rs and last upto 15k , blocked filter will make acceleration slow and throttle response blunt

Guys i m facing a problem...
When i check my mileage with reserve to reserve method it is around 51-52kmpl,
But when i crosschecked it with tankfull to tankfull method it hover around 42-45 kmpl...
Don't know what is the reason behind this variation in mileage, though the riding style remains the same.Hero Honda Dawn-2009-2011

Coming to differences, it cud be incorrect fuel quantity.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
It is a costly affair. Both rims will go above 9000 and again you speedo will be use less because of change in diameter of front wheel.Originally posted by vrm_venkat1 View PostI have a query!.. Can i replace 18 inch rim with 17 inch. Because most of the quality tires are in that range only. If i do, how much it cost for both wheels.
You will get nice Michelin's in 18".2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hi all, I have a cbz extreme running almost 15000 kms with no modifications.. There's an issue that I have to shift from the 1st gear at a speed of 15 as vibration sets in.. I figured that changing the air filter will solve the issue, K & N filters are the best in the market, what model will be the best for CBZ Extreme ? I heard RC 1060 is suited for 150cc bikes.. How will it affect the mileage and performance ? Kindly suggest .. Thank You

Also please tell me whether sparkpulug and AFR is ok
Oil turning black doesn't mean its bad, it means its cleant your engine well and has done its job, reduced engine oil is a concern which happens if its not changed for a very long time .

I think the more the oil is black the more its ready to be replaced.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostYou mean you change oil at 6k km??

As its this much black at this 2.5k I thought I am running too rich and dumping more carbon on the engine walls.
Am I running on correct afr?
