The brake fluid used by the company is transparent. But you should be able to see a bubble or something from the window they give.Originally posted by Imran Syed View Postmy front disk brake oil box at the hand lever ,which shows no oil in it, that round glass cover which shows oil level . what i must do ,i dont know how it is empty its a new bike

Get a straight fine-tip tweezer from any electronics parts shop . No help with digital tacho ... unless you have a properly functioning AFR screw the tuning can't be adjusted reliably . I also put half-a-drop of light oil(sewing machine oil) on the screw threads while putting it in , keeps it from getting stuckOriginally posted by sarbanoxley View PostOk sibun ji now i understand will peep through the hole and report back by tomorrow...dont know how i am going to remove the washer and the o ring from that tiny hole but will try
.
I have one more question : is it possible to tune the carb in this condition using digital tacho as the RPM needle is stuck in place due to the O ring damage ?
the reason i ask is how come the mech at SC tuned my carb in this condition ? i want to know if its possible to tune the carb with digital tacho even with a damaged o ring like mine
.
Yes , and you have to keep lubing it every 1000 kilos too , else chain noise comes backOriginally posted by Imran Syed View Posti adjusted the chain sag.but i need to lube it
.
Yah , Ashwin is right . DOT4 brake fluid being transparent it is kinda difficult to see the level sometimes, so check carefully . Ask ASC to check the level and top-up if needed during regular service . Provided that the brake is working correctly now , else visit them immediately ... they'll do it for free anyway .Originally posted by Imran Syed View Postmy front disk brake oil box at the hand lever ,which shows no oil in it, that round glass cover which shows oil level . what i must do ,i dont know how it is empty its a new bikeLast edited by Pinaki; 10-03-2012, 05:09 AM.

Even if by chance you face problems with 'stuck' part of the carb (screw, washers, rings,etc.)/tight nuts/bolts/ anywhere in the motorcycle, a spray of WD40 does wonders to loosen the stuck things! Have tried it personally and works awesome!Originally posted by sarbanoxley View PostGot the splendor air screw from outside and thank god the air screw came out without getting stuck but it looked diff. than the one you posted fro reference
Were it the case that your new bike was running without front disk oil, by now your pads and the caliper assembly would have damaged your disks; or even the pads would have stuck to the disk (lack of lubrication for the cylinders). However if you're in any doubt, I suggest you take it to the ASC as suggested by other respected members. Or if you're a too hardcore DIY type guy, you can take some help from this:Originally posted by Imran Syed View Postmy front disk brake oil box at the hand lever ,which shows no oil in it, that round glass cover which shows oil level . what i must do ,i dont know how it is empty its a new bike

Changed the airfilter today , my bike had clocked 14k kms and i decided to change the air filter. The old air filter was REALLY dirty . When i had shown it to a mechanic i expected him to clean it using compressed air . Since he did not have complressed air , he tapped it on the floor hard and ran his greasy fingers all over the filter and said , "YENU AGALLA SAAR, CLEAN AGE IDE" ( nothing will happen sir , its clean enough ) .
Even a total noob like me could make out its dirty and needed replacement.
As a result of him tapping the filter to "clean it " the filter had cracks in it . Replaced it today (DIY) and took the bike for a short ride.
It felt real good , torquey and engine felt more responsive.

Ok sir i did try to find the tweezer in my place but it got misplaced somewhere - so i removed the air screw and with the help of my mobile torch looked inside the little hole and i could see the washer deep inside - so took it to a local mech i know he has a small needle like thing which was curved to look like a hook - used that to remove the washer but couldnt find the o ring - it was missingOriginally posted by Pinaki View PostGet a straight fine-tip tweezer from any electronics parts shop . Handed him the o ring from the splendor air screw and it fit perfectly - before fitting it back the mech applied small amount of lithium grease on the air screw tip - before i could object he applied the grease is that ok or should i remove the screw and wipe it clean ?.

Earlier i was doing a mistake that i found out only today - on your guide you instruct first to tighten the air screw first fully then only set the RPM to 2000 with the help of IDLE screw .
What i was doing wrong was i set the idle RPM to 2000 even before i tightened the carb screw fully .
Now i did exactly like you instructed the RPM rose to 3500 then stopped - if i kept on turning the air screw anti clockwise the RPM needle only stayed at 3500 RPM so i started rotating it clockwise slowly till the RPM dipped to 3400 then removed the screw driver from the air screw and set the RPM to 1500 by IDLE screw then again decreased the RPM to 1400 by air screw.
Did i do it right

Make it to 1300rpm by fuel screw/air screw & to 1000rpm by idle screw.if the needle fluctuates then use fuel screw gently to increase rpm until it needle is stable then reduce the idle to 1000rpm by idle screwOriginally posted by sarbanoxley View PostOk sir i did try to find the tweezer in my place but it got misplaced somewhere - so i removed the air screw and with the help of my mobile torch looked inside the little hole and i could see the washer deep inside - so took it to a local mech i know he has a small needle like thing which was curved to look like a hook - used that to remove the washer but couldnt find the o ring - it was missing
