Good to know that hero responded. As i have mentioned elsewhere HERO is now taking customer service seriously. When i was in service center for servicing of my extreme i met regional manager and engineer of hero. They told me that they are visiting each service center in their area at-least once a month and take complaints seriously. Also complain about your mileage and tell them to rectify it or threaten them that you will report to hero.First talk politely with the MD and tell them all your problems. If they do not solve it then i will help. And regarding the accident it is not a proof of karizma alloy being weak. If that would have been the case then karizma would not have sold at all. What i am seeing here is that all think that honda provides quality and hero is shit.It is not you but most of the people i met has a opinion that HONDA is the god. For your information HERO has been manufacturing bikes from last 26 years and they have their own suppliers. For your information i find hero quality to be better than honda. After complaints by customer and mechanics hero has again changed bore kit from SAL to USHA.I am completely pissed when some one says honda provides better quality than hero. And if you judge quality by accident then let me state an incident:-Two years ago when i was returning from college on my JOY, i was very happy on that day and was singing song and riding. I was at 60 kph and suddenly and indica cab overtook me. Then suddenly that idiot thought of taking a right turn at the middle of a road cutting and braked hard. I couldn't swerve to left as another bike was on left and thus banged the behind of indica cab. I stopped then and their. The list of damage on my bike was left side indicator, right side mirror, and a bent leg gaurd. Not even the fork pipes were bent nor the handle racer was also damaged. And regarding the indica, its rear bumper was gone, rear left wheel arch was gone, complete back light left side gone, the hatch door got mis-aligned. That day i got to know my joy build quality. So i always tell that hero provides the best quality among all indian bikes. I will tell some other facts in splendor ownership thread be sure to visit it.Originally posted by ATHUL4R View PostPhoto of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. Went to SVC and asked for chain kit. Sales guy showed a piece @ Rs. 872. He didnt let me open it up and see the brand.
Asked at a spare shop next to the SVC. ROLON kit for Hunk was there @ Rs. 880.
Are these rates reasonable and correct..?
@ sibun
Waiting for the caliper service DIY thread bro..

Try a different ASC ? Do you want to go to ASC only ? What about castrol bike zone or local bike mechanics ?
you can insist to get your bikes serviced right in front of your eyes if you go to a local mechanic.
I ve experienced ASCs keeping the bike all day and returning it at the end of the day by just washing it and handing over an empty bottle of engine oil saying its a "proof" of oil change.
I switched over to a local mechanic who does the job right in front of eyes. i never leave the bike with him unattended .

As I reported earlier, I had a few issues with my bike, ranging from Handle Lock not locking properly, tappet noise, chain case fitment and engine oil leakage. I finally found the time to drop it off for service. I am not very well versed with the local mechanics here and so had thought that ASC would be the best option. And so, I left my bike with Prakash Motors, Bangalore for service on the 21st in the afternoon, I listed out the issues and asked them if I can pick up the bike at 2PM the next day, they very assuredly told me I could come and pick it up at 1PM itself. I was glad the issues would be resolved and went home thereafter knowing my bike was going to be better.
The next day, I reached the service center at 1:30PM, I was told to wait for 15 minutes as they were having their lunch. I obliged and waiting for around half an hour to 45 minutes. I noticed that my bike was just standing there and nothing was being done to it. The chain case was missing too. I asked the chap I spoke to the previous day regarding the issues asking him how much longer it's going to take, he said my chain case has gone for welding!
I was shocked and asked him why?! He said that the chain case wasn't fit properly and thus the threading had gotten messed up and thus was sent for welding but all the other issues have been fixed. I hesitantly agreed and went back to take my seat. I waited for another half and hour and went straight into the service bay after that, a mechanic asked me which bike was mine and I pointed out to my steed. He looked around for the chain case(which was lying around the whole time) and began fitting it onto the bike. Then I noticed that they'd welded the Swing Arm!
I asked him why was the swing arm welded. He said that because the Chain Case wasn't fit properly, the chain case holder off the upper half(the small raised portion on the swing arm closer to the front sprocket) was bent and when they tried to unbend it, it snapped off which is why it was given for welding. It looked like an OK job, so I said OK. Not like much can be done now anyway. He looked to have some trouble fitting the Chain Case back but then managed somehow. It was 3:30PM now. I asked him to tune the bike for mileage and the mechanic asked me what mileage do I get, I said 36. He said 36 is normal for this bike because 40kmpl is the maximum the Hunk returns. I gave him a shocked reaction and he promptly said the Karizma returns 25kmpl. What bullshit, seriously. My bike has returned 49kmpl once and 48 consistently. He then switched on the bike to let it idle for a while, I thought he was going to tunr the carb after the engine gets a little warm but he didn't. It was then I realized these fools had stolen some petrol as well. I clearly remember my bike having fuel well above the reserve level and the fuel tap was on the 'on' position. The fuel gauge now showed Reserve and the fuel tap was on reserve too! Moreover, these idiots had traveled 9km on the bike.
The worst thing being, right at the beginning, the make you sign the job sheet that absolves them of any liability in the event any damage occurs to the bike during 'storage and testing'. I was fed up but was glad I was finally getting to take the bike back home. They called the Service Supervisor to clear the bike. They rev the bike a bit and realize the oil is still leaking. They hadn't even changed the gasket I asked them to change because I know it was damaged. They told me to wait for a while but I asked if I could pick up the bike at around 6PM. They said yeah sure. I got home and called them at 6PM and the bike was still not ready. Now I need to wait till Monday to get the bike, hopefully. I am thoroughly annoyed at Prakash Motors and have decided to never ever leave my bike there for service ever again.

ASC not giving the bike on time is common , has happened to me a lot of times . I always call up and make sure that the bike is ready for delivery before goingOriginally posted by ashwin.terminator View PostAs I reported earlier, I had a few issues with my bike, ranging from Handle Lock not locking properly, tappet noise, chain case fitment and engine oil leakage.
