Audio not clear enough, sound like the tappets are out of synch, does this sound increase with throttle, or does it go away as the revs climb? If it goes away then its wornout conrod bearings.Motorcycling Experience:

ACS guy told to ride at least 500km, will rectify if it is anything serious ,, don't worry you have a warranty ,, its very minor, just for this smal sound it is not good to open engine ,, if it is still there , will rectify free of costOriginally posted by girimajiananth View Postdude , take it to the ASC first thing in the morning . dont delay. Insist for a free service since the bike is new

Aha that explains it ...will take the UPS battery erver 2 months and check the voltage from now on .Originally posted by sibun View PostA bad battery doesn't lets the bike starts as present day hero honda comes with microprocessor controlled ignition. The splendor, passion, Joy, CD dawn they all had ac cdi.
But the present bikes like CBZ extreme, hunk, passion pro, splendor pro, karizma, ambition, CD DELUXE, CD DAWN all the new model have microprocessor based CDI and until and unless they get 12V DC supply they will not fire. So new bikes will not start as they have microprocessor and has as many as 10 maps in them. Even if they start then do not ride with a damaged battery as it will damage the CDI.
That doesnt sound like tappet at all to me ....if the ASC had said the same thing to me i would have slapped them in the face...if there is some unusual noise that too from the engine it wont just go away like that...i would advise you to take it to some other good ASC and talk to the head mech only...even talking to the supervisor wont be of any help....but first i insist you please write a mail to hero from their website ...they have a form for that ...the ASC may not value you as a customer but hero sure does...after you write the mail the ASC will get back to you immediately.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostPlease listen to above video & give a solution guys!!! really in trouble
+1 i would do the same ....waiting is pointless and may further damage your engine....when my bore was drinking oil i just topped up and kept on riding and one fine day the bore suddenly got way more thirsty and consumed a lot of oil very fast ....i was lucky to get away with not opening the entire engine...so its never a good idea to delay.Originally posted by girimajiananth View Postdude , take it to the ASC first thing in the morning . dont delay. Hi imran, I was facing the same issue.. its a tappet noise. Dont worry.Originally posted by Imran Syed View Postit goes off when throttle is given more ,,, it is only when engine is hot
I faced this issue after changing to new bore-piston on 61000KMs ... i think it was the improper adjustment of the tappet
after asking to svc they opened the head and adjusted the tappet....and the click click sound had gone.
Hope your bike should in proper run-in.Last edited by jpZMA; 09-16-2012, 07:27 PM.I really can't define myself without my bike

Yesterday i saw a brand new Xtreme with just 2400kms on the ODO ...suffering from some weird noise like yours from the engine got its whole engine rebuilt under warranty...luckily i was inside the service area when they kick started the bike for the first time....it had pickup and sound everything was just like it came out of the factory...i mean opening the engine doesnt mean the bike wont be like new ...if it is done correctly you have nothing to fearOriginally posted by Imran Syed View PostACS guy told to ride at least 500km, will rectify if it is anything serious ,, don't worry you have a warranty ,, its very minor, just for this smal sound it is not good to open engine ,, if it is still there , will rectify free of cost

Never knew of itOriginally posted by SatSon View PostYou cannot get it from Thodupuzha?
What about Focuz spares in bypass road(near to Supplyco)?
They're authorized spare dealer for Hero and many others.
You can even check for Chain-Sprocket kit there.
Will definitely check that out. AFAIK, Motul is not available in Thodupuzha.

Weird today just now kick started the bike and it took 3 kicks and some throttle to come to life and the RPM needle is dead AGAIN. Swapped the new exide battery with a fully charged AMARON QUANTA UPS battery still the RPM needle looks dead .Checked the new exide battery its more than 60%+ charged already so no issues with the battery either.Yesterday at the SC the bike started with a single kick and today i had to give a some throttle to get the bike come to life but after it warms up no issues whatsoever ....is there something wrong with my electrical guys ? indicator/headlight etc work just fine .

Seems like a loose connector somewhere, check the red connector on the CDI, the ignition switch connector and the 4 wires (Green/white/blue) coming from the left side of the engine.Originally posted by sarbanoxley View PostWeird today just now kick started the bike and it took 3 kicks and some throttle to come to life and the RPM needle is dead AGAIN. [QUOTE=Imran Syed;871407]The sound states that your tappet is loose. The sound is erratic because it is only one tappet loose. Most probably your exhaust tappet is having more clearance. Nothing to worry and do it in first service. But while setting tappet use a feeler gauge and the inlet clearance is 0.08 mm and exhaust clearance is 0.12 mm.Originally posted by girimajiananth View Post
Who said opening the engine is problematic. I have overhauled my joy engine two times and it runs much better than new bikes. The problem is with workmanship and quality of spares and nothing else.Originally posted by sarbanoxley View PostYesterday i saw a brand new Xtreme with just 2400kms on the ODO ...suffering from some weird noise like yours from the engine got its whole engine rebuilt under warranty...luckily i was inside the service area when they kick started the bike for the first time....it had pickup and sound everything was just like it came out of the factory...i mean opening the engine doesnt mean the bike wont be like new ...if it is done correctly you have nothing to fear
.
Usually factory bikes have some problems because they are assembled in assembly line and thus two bikes are not always same. But while rebuilding a engine if workmanship is correct then all engines will be same.
Also from this portal i came to a conclusion that most problems that members face are because of either :-
1. Quality of spares
2. Work quality.
So i will slowly with time post DIY on various parts so that all can benefit from it.
Tomorrow the chain cleaning i will finish and then i will start caliper servicing. Usually when changing disc pad caliper is not serviced and thus the new pads gets worn out soon and also pad gets heated and glazed soon.
So i will post a DIY on caliper servicing.
Tomorrow let me complete chain cleaning.

[QUOTE=sibun;871624]Sir, thanks for your feed back, i guess its a tappets , is it okay to run bike for a week on slow speeds , i can only go to ASC by weekend, i guess loose tappets does not create any damage , correct me if i am wrongOriginally posted by Imran Syed View PostThe sound states that your tappet is loose.
