I get 42 odd most of the time. And I do some spirited riding around the city. But since yours is a mileage dropping case. Check your air filter and did you change the Bunk from where you fill fuel recently?

Sorry man, I have no idea. Just wait for the experts to comment on this. I'd rather admit I don't know that just ignore the query.

i had seen them putting engine oil from barrels(i think it was veedol) so i told him to fill it by himself.
So please tell me which mineral oil to be used and please tell me the whole procedure.
Mineral Oil you can use Gulf. Lots of good reviews around here. As far as the changing the oil goes. Look from the left of the bike and check the lowest point of the engine. You will notice a Size 12(I think) bolt(called drain bolt) which will appears to have a small bit of metal as protection. Remove this bolt and the oil will spill out. Drain out as much as you can by rocking and tilting the bike. Then close the drain bolt. Now move over to the right side and then remove the dipstick. Measure out 900ml of oil and pour it into the dipstick slot preferable using a funnel. That should be the end of the process.
You can also refer to your Owner's manual. Most of the common troubleshooting and simple mechanical procedures are explained there.

I think i solved it, the slip occurred once i opened the throttle instead of down shifting ,speed on 5th gear was below 40.

here local svc too have no idea abt the reason, i got the solution from a fb page for cbz xtreme

Get your chain sprockets and your chain slack checked.
You are mostly riding on a Higher Gear at a Lower Speed.

For Splendor, shifting from 1 to 2 at higher rpms is noisy always, I hope you are mentioning about the same. Try shifting at a lesser rpm?

                          2. The Gulf Pride 20w40 is a good oil and can be changed between 1.5 K ~ 2 k Kms....
                          3. You can also try Valvoline 20w40 Oil which I find to be better than Gulf Pride...
                          4. Air Filter change is based on how good or bad it is..ie., if it not dark yellow but turns to black then it is time to change the filter.
                          5. The UPS battery like the Amaron SMF is also a SMF battery, so should work well ..Looking at the picture I guess the battery you have is 12 Volts 7 AH battery which is good for the Bike...
                          6. I follow the same service routine as you do, except my Zen Mpfi Air filter after 5 K Kms still looks good for another 2~3 k Kms, and changed my spark plug to NGK G Power 2.5 K Kms before...
A word of Caution..DO NOT USE RED COLORED WIRE FOR NEGATIVE CONNECTION TO BATTERY.
Sorry for late reply i was unwell

I dropped the plug when i took the picture thats when the gap got messed up.Also i dont have the gauge to set the gap and the bike refused to start also so took a screw driver and adjusted it myself...only then was i able to start the bike.

what i have dont so far :

                          1) found a company owned bunk 32 Kms away and filled the tank.wont mind traveling this long i justy want my bikes engine floating in sludge .

2)went to the yamaha SC in the next town and got a bottle of yamalube mineral 20W 40 for Rs 302 i like this oil will try to get the valvoline next time .

3)got a new spark plug as well .

                          4) For rs 95 got the rear brake pad changed to ASK(splendor pad) and the grip is way better than the stock crap pad .eventhough the stock pads had a lot of life left in them they sucked so bad i changed them immediately.

@Sarbanoxley - quickly cover the leading wires to the battery with correct colour electrical tape atleast , to indicate correct polarity ... it is easy to goof up on positive and negative terminals with bad bad consequences .
will do that as soon as possible

I dont know if it was the yamalube or the new petrol but the bike performed great on one of my trips to chennai .....kept it above 80Km/hr most of the time effortlessly that too with a pillion both of us weighing 150+Kg combined

                              • help needed on cbz xtreme sprockets

                                Hi,

I am not sure whether my rear sprocket is in good condition. My bike has done 24,500 kms.The rear wheel rotates freely but there is some sound like kad kad. Please tell me if this is normal or a perfectly clean and adjusted chain is smooth and there should be nice sound, if any.

Also whenever I drive on a slightly bumpy road or a minor pothole there is "tak" sound in the steering. whats the reason for this?

                                Please help.
