Hunk is notorious for its less mileage it seems. Every other person I see asks me on seeing my bike. "Hunk! But mileage is 40 only right?"
Last day, my friend who owns a Fazer told me the same and told his Fazer is giving him 40+.
Even his friends with Fazer are getting close to 50! :O
But I don't usually believe high mileage figures claimed by anyone!

Though you have mentioned you are doing service on time, can you let us know the interval at which do oil change?

me too have friends getting 40+ on fazer but <35 on on fz. they said, fazer is tuned for touring and give give better mileage. I think new fazer will give 45~50.

i am getting ~67 km on 100rs petrol here its Rs72 for 1liter

      so math to get mileage is (67 / 100) * 72 = 48.24 right?

I have done all 8 service at around interval of 1800-2000, even twice & thrice at 1500km, at the time, when I have to go outside from delhi, almost 300-400KM in a day with pillion and using the same engine oil which service centre uses for their bikes, As my bike is on 14K and I have done 8 service.

Do I have to change the engine oil and check...

Yes, Fazer is tuned for touring, but if IIRC, I've read somewhere that Fazer is tuned for slightly better performance and not mileage. And Fazer with all those plastic parts added to FZ, is heavier by 4kg.

And your math is right, but I put it usually like,
          67 / (100/72) = 48.24

I have heard in this forum that Hero Honda engine oil loose its viscosity by around 1000km. I think you can try changing the engine oil and see.

I am also using HH oil only and feel the shifts to become harder after some time.

You still have 2.2 ltr in reserve, then how do you calculate the mileage with 100Rs petrol ?

Does it mean you already have 2.2Ltr in reserve and you poured Rs 100 petrol on top of it ?

i'm not sure abt the reserve capacity is 2.2l

                when i hit reserve,
i set the trip meter to zero,
then fill for rs100 as soon as possible
then ride till it hits reserve again.

then do math with the trip meter value

Yes, that is one method to calculate the Mileage besides the Full Tank to Full Tank method.

And yes, reserve capacity is 2.2L.

Yea. Thats very true. I m now running on HH oil, 1500 km old. It has lost all oily properties it seems.

Regarding mileage checking - this is what I do.

                    Run till you hit reserve.
Set trip meter to zero at the moment it hits reserve.
Fill in some petrol (usually worth 200 rs). You need not do this immediately after hitting reserve.
Run till it comes to reserve again.
Divide the kms shown in trip meter by the amount of fuel filled.

                        • Guys, my Hunk's Engine heats up like anything even in a short ride. It is quite hot. But as far as I have noticed, it has not led to any other visible/perceptible problems. The bike has done 2k on the odo. The mileage figures still vary between 40-45. 45 is rare. These days I am getting just a shade above 35kmpl. That is coz I have been doing 80-90 km/hr on the highways. But what about the engine heating like mad? Any inputs?

                            • Guys, what is the word on the latest CBZ Xtreme? Does it still include the following:
                              a) Kick-starter
                              b) full chain guard
                              c) Heel-toe shift.

I may be in the market for a 150cc bike in the near future and this one is also in consideration, mainly because of the ease of access to A.S.S.

I think power is low, a rich AFR will solve the problem?
