All bike engine will get hot if constantly ridden at 90kmph !Originally posted by BloggingWheels View PostGuys, my Hunk's Engine heats up like anything even in a short ride. It is quite hot. But as far as I have noticed, it has not led to any other visible/perceptible problems. The bike has done 2k on the odo. The mileage figures still vary between 40-45. 45 is rare. These days I am getting just a shade above 35kmpl. That is coz I have been doing 80-90 km/hr on the highways. But what about the engine heating like mad? Any inputs?
Two things that comes to my mind reg this issue are old engine oil and incorrect clutch setting.

AFAIK, the new Xtreme doesn't have kick starter, but do have full chain guard. Gear shift is toe shift only.Originally posted by Gansan View PostGuys, what is the word on the latest CBZ Xtreme? Does it still include the following:
a) Kick-starter
b) full chain guard
c) Heel-toe shift.
I may be in the market for a 150cc bike in the near future and this one is also in consideration, mainly because of the ease of access to A.S.S.
Xtreme guys, confirm please...

No dude! I obviously know about engines heating up @speeds so high!Originally posted by SatSon View PostAll bike engine will get hot if constantly ridden at 90kmph !

I am talking about the problem even when I take short rides at decent speeds (<50kmph), no bad riding, controlled throttle.
I had my 1st servicing done at 750 kilometres during which I had changed the Engine Oil. The odo is now 2k. The HH oil just lasts for 1.5k???
Isn't that too less? Can you please be a little more elaborate on the clutch setting
Thanks

Yep, I'm too experiencing engine heating up quickly even after 2-3 Kms ride at sane speeds like 45-50 Kmph. I've taken care of things like Engine oil, gradual throttle response, good tyre pressure still it does heat up more.
Till now, I've rode about 85 kms where 33.5 kms were ridden with less engine oil and below 45 Kmph, thanks to showroom guys
. I checked the engine oil and topped it with recommended 10W 30 Jaso premium engine oil, still there's no improvement in heating issue.
I've checked other 2 things, the rear wheel wasn't rotating freely, so i loosened the brake lever screw and it was a tad better, but still not free enough.
When i tested the front wheel, the wheel made some screech sound. Looks like the brake pads are rubbing with discs at some point.
Can we fix these issues before first service comes at Showroom / Service center ?

Thanks Bro, I didn't noticed it , but it couldn't be helped. I didn't wanted to wait for 1-2 month for arrival of new bikes from Hero motocorp stable, and even the showroom guys were clueless for the exact delivery date. So, kinda picked it in hurryOriginally posted by SatSon View PostCongrats brother !

First pic - HH still doesn't bother about pasting a sticker properly! The red and white(instructions) stickers are not placed in line with the fuel tank lid.

^ In your case it is different. Your is a brand new bike. It is absolutely normal for new engines to heat up. And heat quite fast and a lot. It is because the innards of your engine are new and 'raw'! Any kind of movement = it is growing up, adjusting itself with the riding type (and the rider). It is not yet accustomed to raging fires inside it. So forget all those. It is not a problem at all.
Dude, one word of advise for you - stop worrying and getting all panicky. And most importantly, stop tinkering around with your new bike - lest you want to get into some trouble. You need to learn of your bike as you ride. It will come gradually with experience - sharing and gathering. It is a good bike you've bought. Just enjoy. Don't overtly try to be 'careful' - which isn't required here. It is just a small 150cc bike, not a rocket/a hyper-tech-laden superbike. Just enjoy your ride!

If the clutch setting is incorrect with very less play, then the clutch will be engaged always while riding, which results in engine to heat up. But in that case, you'll feel the bike to be not pulling with respect to engine rpm.
Also, I have noticed my engine to become hot soon during my return from office(13kms) through the heavy traffic with in the evening, with a lot of usage of clutch!

That's cool. Thanks for your feedback. This is my first bike and I'm trying to keep it in best condition during Run-in period.Originally posted by BloggingWheels View Post^ In your case it is different. Your is a brand new bike. Yes, It's performing good and i'm confident , though it hasn't got bite like Pulsar series, still it's able to do its job well. Though , I'm not expert still i feel it's sufficient to stop without skidding like ABSOriginally posted by itsmevini123 View PostHey Ashish how your front disc is performing, Is it perfect and do you feel confidence while driving?

. Maybe its new that's why.
What's your speed at 4.5K RPM ? I get around 58-59 Kmph on that RPM on road.Originally posted by SatSon View PostWas just kidding

Good! As I said, being careful is good but being paranoid and finicky about anything and everything revolving around your ride is BAD!Originally posted by ashislakra1989 View PostThat's cool.
