Put high pressure water between the pads and rotate the wheel. This will clear the mud stuck between pads or in calipers and will make your disc perfect.Originally posted by ashislakra1989 View PostIt's monsoon here. Took my bike for 20 Km ride and it got drenched in mud. I washed it with a soft cloth and discs too, and now even if i rode more than 70 Kms after wash, when applying front brakes it still makes screeeeeeeeeeeeeech !!!!
sound and brake biting power has gone down to 60% as well.
Perhaps, Disc pad should be changed after 1 or 2 wash. The screeeech sound is unbearable for new bikes.
Total Kms covered : 310 kms
Maintenance costs : Rs 5 ( gear lever bolt loosened and fell somewhere on road )
Engine Oil : Changed at 270 Km. HH 10W 30 Jaso.
Mileage : Unsure , waiting for Reserve. Looks like it can go another 40-50 kms before going reserve.
Fuel Tank : 7.5 lts , 2.2 in reserve
What service center do is they use 250 ml bottle of oil and thus they use 70-80 ml in each bike and rest they stock it till the bottle is finished. So it gets contaminated with moisture and become sticky. Yours is a case of oil contamination and thus it is not allowing the pistons to operate freely.Originally posted by SatSon View PostThere is lot of discussions going on regarding disc brakes here, guess you guys can help me out!
Two weeks back I had my bike serviced at an ASC. That time I insisted on checking the condition of my front disc brake as the wheel was not rotating freely and the mechanic told there shouldn't be any problem with pad and for disc brakes wheel rotation is like that only :O. But told he'd change the brake fluid and he did.
After the service the wheel became more tight and the brake bite was very less! He told it is because of the water wash only! It took 2 days to get it back to the normal power. But today immediately on my way to office it immediately lost the braking power and issue still continues. It has become dangerous to ride as it is like there is no front brake.
Any inputs?
Find a good independent mechanic and completely remove the brake fluid and clean the master cylinder with spirit. Check the master cylinder piston and if it is worn then go for new piston cost is Rs.150. Similarly check the caliper pistons and oil seal. Usually piston seal are responsible for the pistons to retract and as they harden they do not retract and new piston seals are available. But first change the brake fluid and you yourself buy a new bottle of fluid and give it to mechanic. Also after replacing the fluid bleed the system of air properly. Most good mechanic will do it properly.
I will ask my mechanic more details and let you know.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. My Achiever report after a long time
-----------------------------------
Completed last free svc more than a year back at 11,200 kms, now the meter reads 27,600 kms
1. Never gave bike for svc after 11,200 kms
2. Maintained oil change interval of 3500kms, used Indian oil/Shell/Hero E-oil
3. Chain tightening/oiling, brake tightening often
4. FE still damn good overall 48 kmpl
5. Changed spark plug and brake pads at Hero svc once.
Overall I am very happy with my Achiever. It still sprints 0-80 just like when it was new !!

Guys, can anyone please share the Hero Moto Corp customer complaint mail id? It is disgusting how a reputed brand such as this can neglect customer issues regarding their bike. The air leakage from the rims issue has still not been sorted out. The email ids given in the owner book don't seem to work anymore. the ones with the [email protected] ids.

During First service, I shouldn't let the Service center guys to fiddle with my carburetor .Right ?
I've already changed Engine Oil at 250 Km. Another oil change will be done at 1st service.

Yeah, I'm still trying to get used to that malicious grin my brother has each time I'm proud of the mileage figures I attain. His is a P150 which is about 6 years old and still returns 52+ mileage figures.Originally posted by ashislakra1989 View PostWe're getting above 45 Kmpl, its quite good but no where near as Pulsar's mileage like 55-60kmpl.
Still its respectable.
Anyway, I always have and always will like the Hunk over any other bike in its segment.Hero Honda Hunk 2011, RC'ed, DC'ed, MC'ed! :P

Hi bloggingwheels, can u tell me from where did you buy your bike from?Even Am from jamshedpur, and by the way,Hero's service is very poor.Their service managers are least bothered about customer's problems. Those morons have answers for everything.Even i have faced a lot of problems from their service centres.Am using a hunk from the last 2years which has clocked 33750kms till now.Hope your bike will get repaired soon.Take care.Ride safeOriginally posted by BloggingWheels View PostGuys, can anyone please share the Hero Moto Corp customer complaint mail id?
