whoever complains of bad mileage might not have ridden below 50 for sure. If we ride it sanely, i hope it'll provide 50 kmpl for decades.

Last week, changed to Yamalube. By mistake (or negligence
) happened to over-fill the engine. As a result, the plug is almost burnt, and today when I opened the air filter box, it had oil all over (oil blow-by)
Problem now is, bike struggles to climb uphill inclines. Esp. at low revvs. The bike just refuses to revv up. As if it not getting enough fuel to burn.
So, what could be the real problem here..?
A burnt plug, or a clogged carb jet, or something else..?
PS :- Air filter is not much clogged.MOTORCYCLING IS AS MUCH ART AS IT IS SCIENCE

Dude first drain the oil immediately. Refill the chamber with new oil - 0.9lts max.
2. Clean the spark plug and check the gap.
3. Wrap a finger around your finger/a finger like cylinder, insert it in the spark plug hole and crank the engine.
4. Repeat it 2-3 times.
5. DO NOT fiddle with the carb if you're not comfortable with tuning it.
6. DO NOT wet the air filter in any case. Clean it with compressed clean air and the sides with a lint free cloth.
Check with the above steps and let us know. If the problem persists, maybe you have to fiddle with the carb (but by a trusted knowledgeable person only)

Won a big battle with HMC today.
Finally, I got my alloys changed free of cost (under warranty)
Supervised the tyre mounting work on the new alloy myself; ensured that they didn’t scrape the paint even a bit – internal/external. Got them checked by MRF tyres service centre for any air leakages around the rim. Since there was none, didn’t get the tyres replaced. Though a set of new tyres would have cost me just under Rs. 500 (for both)! Want to do some trial runs for a week and check for leakages that might occur. If it really does, will get the tyres replaced under warranty for approx the same amount.
I had this air leakage problem since my purchase. This battle was finally won after 4 months of pressurizing the HMC regional/zonal offices
Very happy with the brand new alloys for my Hunk! Time to go for a long relaxing ride in the monsoon!

A good and relaxing news, that they changed the alloy, I can imagine how difficult it was for you to explain and convience them that this is the real problem even it was so difficult for you to find out the real cause and problem of low air pressure in tyre, because every time when any low pressure happens they point to puncture or related to tyre only....
and because of the it is a rare problem also....
Congrats buddy...
So the problem was in both alloy or not..

You can get a red color cover from any of service centre buddy and if you face any difficulty you can just put a normal spark plug cover to avoid miss sparking, from any local shop near to you...Originally posted by BloggingWheels View PostGuys any idea about how much the 'red' spark plug cap costs? Mine has gone kaput it seems. Shorting problem. Bike tends to shut down with a little twist of the accelerator. A chit-chit-chit sound from the plug. Missed sparks.

Well, forgot to mention that the oil level is just fine now. (Some of the oil got burnt and some went into the air box)
2. Can you describe the procedure for checking the plug gap..?
3. Could you clarify the procedure and necessity of steps 3 & 4..?
5. I am pretty comfortable with tuning and touchwood, I have an optimum mix

Last night was out riding in my colony in my shorts n tee :P When this problem started. Took it to a local mechanic (thankfully wasn't far). I knew it was the spark plug but I did not know that the cover might be posing the problem. He brought out a 'faltu' black colored cap which appeared disgusting as hellOriginally posted by itsmevini123 View PostYou can get a red color cover from any of service centre buddy and if you face any difficulty you can just put a normal spark plug cover to avoid miss sparking, from any local shop near to you...
and moreover wasn't as striking as the old red one. He asked me 60Rs. for it. I didn't pay him a penny and asked the mechanic to fix the old one. He just twisted the stripped end of the wire inside the thin end of the cap and recapped the spark plug. And voila still running, without any problems
, no chit-chit-chit misfires/sparks flying off!!!
Running absolutely No Problemo!

2. Check the manual. Get hold of a steel scale with a least count of 0.5mm and measure the gap by holding it against the scale. Clarify the optimum gap with the user's manual.Originally posted by sooraj_vs View PostWell, forgot to mention that the oil level is just fine now. 3. & 4. Once I had been suggested by a local mechanic that by doing this it helps remove the 'oily' carbon deposits inside the chamber. He did that by wrapping a cloth around his finger, inserting it in the spark plug hole and then applying the kick on my maternal uncle's Bajaj Boxer. After that, no problems! I was not impressed by the explanation though! :P

For alloy heating issue, over tightening of the rear wheel brake could be the primary reason..check the brake play adjustment nut immediately.Originally posted by itsmevini123 View PostHey guys has anybody notice, yesterday I noticed that almost after to ride my bike only 4-5 km I parked my bike, was checking something near to silencer and noticed that rear alloy was so heated (even temp in delhi is so good now the days bcs of monsoon has just arrived) it was around 45-50 C, Is it normal

Hunk complaint
hello everyone,
I have got a hh hunk which is a 2007 dec model and have done around 46000 km. It has got no problem until 45k but a problem started from there onwards.
The problem is
When i open the the throttle after upshifting or down shifting there is a sudden missing of acceleration. The bike don't move for sometime but after 2 to 3 second it will be back to action . Bike has no problem during starup but after moving some distance say 4-5 kms the missing will start .I have checked the spark plug and cleaned the tanks etc but the problem still persists .My mechanic is not able to find the problem . He says the bike don't have any complaints while he is driving. The problem is that it won't occur every time while shifting.I am fed up with this bike
. Pls help me guys with your suggestions .
