That's the spirit!Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostOkay bro ,will wait for some time till it reaches atleast 2000km, i am relaxed a bit after listening to your words that HUNK is smooth after some run & proper maintenance
Just wait and watch.

First locate the air screw on the left side of carb and tighten it fully and lightly without applying too much force. Next increase the idling by turning the idling screw so that the engine idles at 2000 rpm.
Now open the air screw slowly by 1/10 th of a turn and see that the tuning will rise. Keep on opening and watch the tachometer till the idling will be at highest. Now slightly turn the air screw left or right and you will see that the rpm will decrease. It is at this point that the mixture is perfect. Because at this point the engine makes maximum power. Now decrease the idle to about 1000-1200 rpm and see that the engine will rev freely.
But before this ensure that the airfilter is clean and your carburettor is clean. Clean your main jet as it may be dirty or there will be some water in float chamber. Then attempt to tune after the engine is warm.Hero Honda Hunk 2011, RC'ed, DC'ed, MC'ed! :P

By 'adjust', if you mean tighten or the like as it is in the case of drum brakes, not possible. But, you could change the disk pads to Non OE ones and get more bite.Originally posted by Imran Syed View Posthow we can adjust the disk brakes?

Disc brakes are self-adjusting . i.e it has a mechanism which keeps the gap between the disc and pads same as the pads wear down . However you can adjust the distance the brake lever travels to engage the brake (free-play) . Check the owner's manual for that .Originally posted by Imran Syed View Posthow we can adjust the disk brakes?
I should again tell you that if oil gets on your brake pad (or brake shoe) once , it is impossible to clean it out , and the braking shall remain compromised (plus it may soon develop a squeaky brake noise) . It's not relevant whether your pads are 15 days or 15 years old in this case
.The disc(steel) is however cleanable with some effort . Moreover brake pads(or shoes even) are too cheap parts to risk safety, and your braking may actually improve with after-market asbestos pads , than the OE non-asbestos ones .

Self cleaning plug, better option would be the G Spark, its also self cleaning but only Rs.120~130/-Originally posted by ATHUL4R View Postwats the use of iridium plug?Motorcycling Experience:

As i have told before do not fiddle with the new bike. New bike will vibrate. As the engine gets free and a thin layer of carbon gets deposited on head, your bike will be smooth.Originally posted by Imran Syed View PostNoisy engine , noise in brakes & tappet noise !!just 15days old bike it is ,
My extreme was also vibrating a lot, but after 6k the bike has gone exceedingly smooth and still smoothening. Also use 10W 30 oil rather than other oil to help in engine settling.
Also as i have told else where hero honda engines take as long as 10k to be completely free. So do not fiddle with it now.
You cannot adjust disk brakes. As the pad will wear out, a slight increase in lever travel will be there.Originally posted by Imran Syed View Posthow we can adjust the disk brakes?
Yes, my instruction is complete.Originally posted by ATHUL4R View Post
Yes, that sound is from camshaft. The bearing race is broken and presently the camshaft is running without balls. The small bearing has broken than lies opposite side of timing sprocket. Also the rocker arms are damaged by the broken camshaft. Do not ride in this condition as it is quite risky. Escalate the issue to hero honda and if possible upload the video by an e-mail to hero honda. First repair the camshaft and then think about mileage. Low mileage is also because of the camshaft as it is not properly opening the valves.
You have a 3 years or 40k warranty. Fight for it. Usually no use of wasting time with service center, just send a complaint to hero honda or regional office. If possible find regional office address and go and directly meet the engineer. Do not leave it and also do not ride it in this condition.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. Hi Sibun!!
I tuned carb as per your guide
step1. Engine warm up
step2. air screw tightened (clockwise rotation)
step3. increased idle to 2000rpm by idle screw
step4. i rotated air screw (anticlock directio) until i get highest rpm ,my case it was around 3300rpm approx
step5. air screw rotated in clockwise to reduce the idle & it came to around 2700rpm
step6. now idle screw adjusted to 1000rpm
niddle is stable at 1000rpm , accelerator is fine
Is the method is fine or any mistake or other tips i can have from you ?
slight variation in the needle (1000 to 1200 rpm ,is it fine????Last edited by Imran Syed; 09-30-2012, 10:27 AM.

But this can only be fixed by a competent mechanic or the ASC. Escalate the issue to Hero through their website. Make sure the tappet adjustment is done when the engine is cold, otherwise, there's no use in adjusting them anyway.
