  • I didn't notice this during the delivery. But, when I took my bike for a spin yesterday night at around midnight, I noticed that the plastic part[over the tail lamps], the ones on which the grab rails are mounted, vibrates a lot even when riding on a smooth road, say it rattles. Noticed that even when I was riding on the freeway this morning. How do I fix this thing? It is very irritating.
    Do I need to tighten any bolts? or use double sided tapes under the seat? Or take it to SVC?



    UPDATE: I took it to the SVC, and yes, the seat was not fixed properly. Plus the silencer cover was also loose, that was tightened. As for that tail part rattling, they added a few washers and grommets to the bolts under the seat. Bike is good now.

    • Hi everyone, i have recently joined this forum.I own a CBZ Xtreme (Jan 2011) which has done around 6.5k kms.I have been facing a problem with the rear suspension from day 1, there is a thud sound everytime i go through a pothole like the suspension doesn't exist.Nobody wants to sit as a pillion on my bike Please help guys

          First of all Congrats for your new machine. As the bike is new, I Suggest you to take it to SVC, they gonna Fix it Is a common issue with new bikes, lil vibrations.

            I wont recommend any costly treatment for protecting the paint - last week i saw some guy paint his whole tank black for Rs 800 at the SC and it looked just like it came out of the factory .

            Oil changing is very easy - get a 12 size open ended spanner and loosen the drain bolt thats it .

            Got the engine oil replaced at the SVC and it wasnt from the bottle as advised by RohIIT as they said the engine oil they order comes in barrel only
            hope its the same 10W30 I was advised. They charged me 250 for engine oil and some 10 bucks as labor charges. Do you think that its the right oil for her?

              That oil is good for 200km..its the worst oil ...it is almost water ...try finding bottled oil from local shops... Its 10w30 but of bad quality from barrel

                Most SC do like this only but the part where they say they only get oil in barrels is pure BS - as its an authorized SC i am pretty sure it would be the 10W 30 grade - the most important thing you should look now is have they filled the oil to the correct level - check the dipstick - the oil should be between max and min mark - though i too agree that its a crap oil but i have seen a lot of high mileage bikes that seem to run just fine on these crap oil - case in point was this splendor which has crossed 2,10,000+ kms with just 2 engine overhauls - i too was shocked to learn from the owner that all this was done with the crap oil they use from the barrels - it was one of the reasons that convinced me to walk away from expensive and useless synthetic oils that i was using (i may be taken to task for saying 300V "useless" by other senior members here ) - as long as the dipstick shows the correct level you are fine - just keep the oil for the next 1000 kms or if the service schedule comes in between get it changed then - see hero engines esp. the splendor series are built like a tank - i am pretty sure they will go on and on even if you put cooking oil in it as long as you keep the oil level in check so dont worry and just enjoy your ride .

                  • RohIIT and Sarbanoxley thanx for the tip but I am confused whether to change the oil after 200 kms or another 1000 kms?

                    and Sarbanoxley I did check the oil level that very moment as that mechanic put the oil from some unmarked container so I made sure that the oil level was correct. Next time on wards I am going to get bottled oil only and may b try changing it on my own .

                      Believe me barrel oil doesnt last anything above 1000km..so get a bottle of oil and change it at 1st service

                      • I'm in a little bit of a fix actually:

                        As I mentioned earlier, I'd recently adjusted the tappets myself. I tried to clean the carb, but couldn't because I couldn't remove the TPS. Ever since that day, the throttle seems to have lost steam. Meaning, the power doesn't seem to come in initially as it used to. And after a few days, the idling began to vary like crazy, it would go upto 3/4k RPM, stay there for a while and the next signal, it would not even idle. It would just off. I took it to a mech yesterday, and he said the throttle cable had to be changed. So I bought a new one for Rs. 70 and got home. Now, I wasn't too keen on replacing just yet. I wanted to figure what the problem was. That being said, I tried to diagnose the issue myself. But couldn't.
                        I remove the carb from the rubbers around it, disconnected the Choke and throttle cables and removed the idling screw almost fully. I started the bike and the bike redlined! I didn't open throttle, nothing. I check the brown flap that turns to a horizontal position when we open throttle, but it was still closed. Somehow, it managed to come down to a point where I could ride the bike thereafter. But the problems still persist. Could someone please assist?

                        Also, I changed the clutch cable, but apparently, new clutch cables do not come with the rubber cover that covers a part of the clutch lever and I'm not sure about how to remove the Rubber from the old clutch cable either. Someone please guide me on these 2 fronts.

                            I saw a first gen Xtreme with a 140 profile at rear yesterday in traffic. Im guessing 140 cause the tire was fatter than an FZ tire.
