I cant say exactly how much is the drain interval but its definitely more than 2000+ kms - as i stopped counting after 2k mark - even went on a tour down south till tanjavur - cruising nonstop for 200 kms at a stretch a couple of times - no over heating observed with nearly 180 kgs on board (me+pillion+luggage) - i had to change the oil as they replaced my clutch at the SC or else i felt no difference - to be safe i will drain this oil at 2500kms :P.

        • Veedol super swift is a semi-synthetic oil but feels and works like synthetic oil. You will not believe but when i was using this oil in my joy, i had ridden it for 5k once and still the oil was good. Also during summer, when temperatures were hovering around 46 degrees here, i had rode my joy at 100 on speedo non stop for 40 kms and rest of journey at more than 70 kph that too in after-noon. Use it once and your search for better oil will end.

@aswin- You will be surprised to know tide oil is Veedol and is actually largest supplier of oil in india.
Hero OE oil comes in three packaging- veedol, savita and MAk.

Present Mrp of hero oil is Rs.215. But the dealer gets it at three prices.
          1. Veedol oil- Rs.175
          2. Savita- Rs.165
          3. Mak- Rs.158.
Now you see why hero dealers always force customers to use Hero oil. Selling 100 bottles a day will make them very profitable. If you are using veedol brand Hero oil then oil will last for 1200-1500 km, but if the other brands then crap. But service center to increase profit use other companies oil.

Regarding veedol oil and oil which Veedol is supplying to Hero, do not think they are equal. I had a talk with regional manager of Veedol oil and he said that Hero and Honda oils are selected by tender, so they have to give at lower price. So oil quality is far lower than there own brand oil.

You will also be surprised to know that HONDA oil is lower in quality than HERO oil.

Use VEEDOL TAKE OFF PREMIUM 10W 30 and you all will change opinions about 10W 30 oil. This 10 w 30 oil last for 2k+ km and engine remains smooth.

The best i have used till now is veedol 10W 40 - i have used lot of expensive oil esp. 300V from motul for a long long time - so dont waste your money on expensive oils get the veedol super swift for Rs 340 and be happy - also dont come to any conclusion until you have done at least 2 oil changes with the same oil .

I have never seen Veedol written in the packing, only Tide Water Oil company.

Inspite of many ZMA owners complaining about it, I never faced any issues and in a way it outperforms Petronas Sprinta 5000 10W40 FS which was claimed to be the best oil for ZMA. But the only issue faced with it was it looses its qualities around 1k kms.

Regarding veedol oil and oil which Veedol is supplying to Hero, do not think they are equal. That is expected, cause even though the HH 10W30 is good, it doesnt perform well after 1k kms, and for the price of 200rs it surely is VFM.

You will also be surprised to know that HONDA oil is lower in quality than HERO oil.
Not at all surprised, I know this from experience.
Now here's a shocker for you Have you tried Motul's? If yes and you found the performance good, then give Yamalube a try and you will be literally shocked by its performance. Inspite Yamaha owners claiming Motul to be better than Yamalube, on my ZMA, its the opposite.

Use VEEDOL TAKE OFF PREMIUM 10W 30 and you all will change opinions about 10W 30 oil. This 10 w 30 oil last for 2k+ km and engine remains smooth.
Veedol is nearly impossible to source here, will try my best to get a bottle, if you say its good, then am expecting it to be the best.

                • I swapped to the Unicorn 15T sprocket today. Part number was 23801-KSP-930. It is available at the Silicon Honda Showroom opposite Vijaya College in Bangalore. The front sprocket is available by itself. It cost me Rs. 146/-. Need to go out on a decent ride to find out how it's gonna work. Haven't really put it through its paces yet. Fit perfectly though.

                  • @ashwin- all engines are different and no two engines are same. I have found that hero engines run much better in veedol and shell than in castrol elf or motul. I have not used Yamalube and so cannot tell.
Yes, most people go by brand name and thus think honda oil is better than hero oil but the opposite is true as far as i have seen and also my retailer friend has even told me.

Thanks for believing in me. If you ever use veedol oils then mark my words and reply back with experience. Un-fortunately, veedol doesn't advertises its product.
Can you tell me you district and nearest big city, i will contact the regional manager here and will let you know the veedol distributor there.

Maybe you can try to search for RE mechanics coz the rubber inserts are mostly used by them, atleast they can guide you as to where it will be available.
