        Hello friends !
Visiting forum after long time. Did second servicing. Changed oil to VEEDOL 4T take-off premium. More kms it covering, more she`s getting smoother. Oil is much better than hero one. Can anyone tell me drain period for this oil..?
Bike was making some grr grr sound at slow speed. Lubed chain & grrr grrr sound went away. Gave complete thorough wash including removal of front tank scoops.
Wanted to share procedures for opening of scoops of cbz xtreme as i was having hard time fiddling with those side scoops.
        Step-1
Unscrew screw using allen key as shown in picture with black arrow n give bit of hard push in forward direction as shown by green arrow. U might felt that something is getting stucked inside, but u need to give hard push.

After that you can see bike naked without scoops. Make sure you keep those black rubber gomets in safe place, as their availability at ASC can`t be confirmed. More images for Side scoops as below & rubber gomets.

        Step-2
While refitting i was fiddling with those rubber gomets for half hour finally found how to put those gomet back in place
If you look 4th pics u can see rectangular groove. As shown in below pics 1st put those gomets on tank hooks. I was trying with scoops, thinking that that gomets to be fit on hook inside scoop.

        Step-3
Finally put tank scoop as shown in below pic following same procedure & your bike will be back to original state.

The ones in my Hunk got damaged. And the Scoop doesn't fit snugly ever since.

          Update!

I gave the bike for service 2 days ago. Lots of work to be done. Will get the bike on Monday.

          1) Battery Change - Exide. Rs. 1,350
          2) Oil Leakage From Head Due To Stripping of Threads - Rs. 600 (He said this can be fixed at a Lathe Workshop)
          3) Clutch Bell Play - Rs. 600 (He said this can also be fixed at a Lathe Workshop)
          4) Front Fork Oil Change
          5) General Service - Rs. 500
          6) Engine Oil Change - Rs. 650 (I assume that is how much Honda Throttle costs?)
          7) Chain Lube Job - Rs. 90

I specifically got him to clean the Oil Strainer and the Oil Filter. They've never been cleaned right from the time I bought the bike.

Except for the Engine Oil Change, these are the maximum costs he has quoted. He estimates the bill to amount to Rs. 4,000. Are these costs reasonable or am I being ripped off?

Lathe cost for stripped threads is too much. Max cost with brass sleeve is Rs.200/- which is a permanent solution. FYI, new cam-carrier itself costs 550~Rs.600/-
Clutch bell lathe cost is also slightly on the higher side. How did he arrive at a conclusion that bell has play ?
            General service 500 ??
Chain lube ? Come on, you can get a rolon lube can for Rs.140/- and DIY for 7~9 times.

The total comes to 3K. Where is the other 1K ? For overhauling the forks ?

Don't be surprised if you are just charged for the lathe job without out any actual work being carried-out. Authorized service centers rarely go for lathe work.
Time to find a local mechanic and get the work done under your supervision. I find it strange that you still continue to visit ASC for repairs.

He showed me how the bell was moving when he tried to turn it. It moved more than a few mm easily! How much does this cost usually?

General Service, includes all his labour work. :P It's the usual cost around here. And I assume Chain Lube is the entire cost of cleaning the chain by washing with water, kerosene, diesel etc.

The Engine oil is another Rs. 650. The cost he estimated was with the Engine Oil. So around about Rs. 200 for Overhauling the forks?

This isn't an ASC, I ditched the ASCs immediately after my First Service. :P Had a good Local Mech who then moved out of the city. The found this guy whose job I seem to be quite happy with.

That being said, is it possible to increase the size of our main jet from 125 to 127.5 at a Lathe Shop?

You should be very careful while buying used bike, try to have a mechanic accompany you when you go for checking the bikes.
You can look for used Hunk in quikr/olx websites, you will see lot of them listed there.

Since fuel efficiency is your key requirement, want to let you know that Hunk will give you around 45kmpl in city conditions.
I am not sure about P135, but Twister will definitely give you better mileage than Hunk.

I think hero honda built quality is better than bajaj
I have listened many times that pulsar engine dies in 1-2 years
And if i want to buy used then this is a problem..................:what:

Yes, Hero engines last longer than pulsar's in general.
But a badly maintained, not properly run-in engine can go bad soon, even if it is Hero. You need to look for a bike that is properly maintained.

                        hi,

                        Its 30k+ on odo,

Yesterday visited my local mech, to change fork oil, he made some pushes on the handle and said, oil is good.
                        and came back home.

it was at 14K i did regular service at ASC,

For the past 15K No works did other than changing break pads, air filter and spark plug. also changed chain sprocket a few k kilometers back.

at this point should I consider any thing else?

like strainer cleaning, carbon deposit or any thing else??

A few hundred km ago I felt a wobbling on rear wheel, I checked air pressure at home, it was 40+, adjusted to 30psi. Same thing happened a few weeks ago while I was on a long ride, but then I had a pillion rider, so I didn't felt the wobbling. So how this thing increasing automatically??

Are you hell bent upon looks? If you are looking for fuel efficiency , I would suggest you to stay away from anything above 100cc . There are a lot of choices when it comes to 100 cc bikes . They are easy to maintain and no doubt fuel efficient . Hero splendor is one of the best bikes when it comes to affordable maintenance and fuel efficiency ( I agree its not the best looking bike ) . Given the list above twister is your best bet .

Bajaj engines "dying" in an year or two is a myth . It depends on how you ride it and maintain your bike .
